Stud feeder with an adapter (1), in which a conveying duct (4) and a stud feed orifice (3) designed substantially perpendicularly to the conveying duct (4) are provided, with a cylindrical or slightly conical stud holder (2) arranged coaxially to the conveying duct (4) and with a loading pin (10) which is capable of moving to and fro in the conveying duct (4) and which displaces studs (9) from the stud feed orifice (3) to the stud holder (2), characterized in that the conveying duct (4) is formed by a tubular gripper (5) which is slotted at least over a proportion of its length, and the gripper segments (6) are resilient substantially perpendicularly to their length.

A component installation tool of the type having a rearward stroke to accommodate delivery of a component to the front of the tool and a forward stroke to engage, deliver and install the component at a workpiece, the tool including a housing, a reciprocating mechanism contained therein, a feeder support mounted on the housing, a reciprocal magazine mounted on the feeder support for reciprocation between a component receiving position adjacent the tool and a position for delivering a component in front of the mechanism; and delivery means for delivering a component to a chamber in the magazine when the magazine is in the component receiving position and the mechanism is in the forward stroke.

A rivet setting tool for use with double headed blind rivets comprises a collet assembly adapted to engage a pulling head of the rivet, and abutment members movable between an open position, in which the pulling head of the mandrel of the rivet may be passed through the abutment assembly to be engaged by the collet assembly, and a closed position in which the abutment members provide an abutment to engage the rivet head. The abutment members are mounted for generally axial movement and when a double headed blind rivet is presented axially to the tool, the head of the rivet engages the abutment members, and on the rivet being pushed into the tool so that the pulling head is engaged by the collet assembly, the abutment members are moved axially and are caused to close firmly about the mandrel.
