A wheel suspension for the rear axle of a vehicle includes a wheel carrier for fastening a rear wheel. A link system, which includes at least two links for fastening to a body of the vehicle, is fastened to the wheel carrier. One of the at least two links is a combination link with a basic body and two link portions for fastening at two positions of the body of the vehicle.

Wheel suspension for the rear axle of a vehicle

A wheel suspension for the rear axle of a vehicle has a wheel carrier for fastening a rear wheel. A link system including at least two links is fastened on the wheel carrier to enable fastening on a vehicle body of the vehicle. The wheel carrier has a link portion for direct or indirect mounting on the vehicle body of the vehicle.

A rear axle, specifically a steerable rear axle, of a motor vehicle, has wheel carriers for holding in each case one rear wheel, with in each case one upper transverse link, one lower transverse link and one track rod interacting with each rear wheel, and with the track rods being positioned behind a center of the rear wheels or of the wheel carriers as viewed in the longitudinal direction of the motor vehicle, wherein both track rods which are positioned in each case behind the center of the rear wheels or of the wheel carriers as viewed in the longitudinal direction of the motor vehicle are engaged on by a common steering actuator which is likewise positioned in each case behind the center of the rear wheels or of the wheel carriers as viewed in the longitudinal direction of the motor vehicle.

Rear axle of motor vehicle

A steering column arrangement includes a steering spindle, which rotates about its longitudinal axis and serves to transfer a torque, generated by a steering wheel, to a steering gear, and a blocking device, which prevents the rotational motion of the steering spindle, especially in the event of a collision. The blocking device includes a stator, which is stationary in relation to the rotational motion of the steering spindle, and against which a blocking element is mounted in a relatively moveable manner. To prevent, in a reliable manner, an undesired twisting of the steering wheel, especially in the event of a collision, the blocking element is moveable into a locked position in a radial direction toward the steering spindle.

Steering column arrangement for a motor vehicle

An actuating device contains two shifting buttons which are arranged on the upper side and lower side of the steering wheel. The shifting buttons are guided together rectilinearly on guide pins during a shifting operation, which guide pins are held in sleeves of a supporting plate and are fastened to a steering wheel cover.

Actuating device on a vehicle steering wheel

An actuating device on a vehicle steering wheel includes two shifting buttons which are disposed on an upper side and a lower side of the steering wheel. The shifting buttons are guided together rectilinearly on guide pins during a shifting operation. The guide pins are held in sleeves of a supporting plate and are fastened to a steering wheel cover.

As a result of a configuration and position of an upper transverse link and of a lower transverse link, a wheel pivot axis is created which has a point of intersection with an area region of a vertical wheel central transverse plane and a wheel central longitudinal plane. An adjustment of the wheel in a toe-out sense takes place under the influence of braking forces and an adjustment of the wheel in a toe-in sense takes place under the influence of drive forces. Furthermore, as a result of different mount characteristics at the lower transverse link and at the track rod, it is ensured that, in the event of side forces, the wheel which is at the outside of the corner is adjusted in a toe-out sense.

Wheel suspension for a front axle of a motor vehicle

A transverse or oblique link is provided for a front vehicle axle. The link contains a first and a second link arm, the first link arm has a deformation section situated at a front in the direction of travel and a section situated behind it in the direction of travel. Furthermore, the first link arm is configured in such a manner that, in an accident, it is deformed in an energy-absorbing manner predominantly in its deformation section. In order to force a deformation in the deformation section, the flexural rigidity of the section about a bending axis running in the transverse direction of the vehicle is increased in comparison to the flexural rigidity of the deformation section. Upon contact with a curb, the two sections can be deformed in an energy-absorbing manner.

Transverse or oblique link

A wheel suspension for a front axle of a motor vehicle, especially for an all-terrain vehicle, with a pulled-up drag bearing upon which double transverse links, which have the ability to swing and which are comprised of steering triangles, are positioned. The one transverse link is arranged above a wheel and the other transverse link and a steering tie rod as well as a stabilizer are arranged underneath a rotation axis of the wheel. A bearing on the side of the drag bearing side of the upper transverse link as well as a bearing of the steering tie rod on the drag bearing are arranged&mdash;in relation to the direction of movement&mdash;behind a vertical transverse plane of the center of the wheel. A corresponding additional bearing on the side of the drag bearing of the lower transverse link is arranged in front of the vertical transverse plane of the center of the wheel in such a way that a geometric swiveling axis or a trailing axis with piercing point in the wheel contact plane outside of the tread and in front of the vertical transverse plane of the center of the wheel results. The upper bearing on the side of the drag bearing and the lower transverse link with the steering tie rod form an elastokinematic swiveling axis that features a piercing point in the wheel contact plane behind the vertical transverse plane of the center of the wheel center plane and outside of the tread.

Wheel suspension for a front axle of an automobile and method of making same

A wheel bearing unit for a motor vehicle has a wheel bearing arranged in a pivot bearing and including a received propeller shaft which, by way of a joint bell, is situated opposite a receiving element of the pivot bearing. Directly opposite areas of the pivot bearing receiving element and the joint bell have reductions in their thicknesses, and a ring gap formed between the receiving element and the joint bell can be bridged by a sealing ring which can be pressed upon the propeller shaft.

Wheel bearing unit

A bearing has an elastic bearing element and envelops a vehicle wheel suspension stabilizer. The elastic bearing element with an inner sleeve is disposed on the stabilizer. The bearing element can be connected in a rotationally secure manner to the stabilizer by corresponding locking elements between the inner sleeve and the stabilizer.

A caliper is fastened by a fastening arrangement on a projecting rib of a wheel carrier. The rib has a manufacturing thickness which, for the optional fastening of a floating or fixed caliper, can be reduced on each side by an amount of thickness such that a basic thickness of the rib remains. The fixed caliper can be fastened on the exterior side and the floating caliper can be fastened on the interior side of the rib at a defined distance from the brake disk by way of screwing devices.

Arrangement and method for fastening a caliper on a wheel carrier

A wheel suspension for a motor vehicle is constructed with an axle bracing body which comprises an axle tube extending transversely to the driving direction and adjoining, longitudinally extending, additional axle tubes. On both ends of these axle tubes, one wheel respectively is disposed which is supported toward the vehicle body by way of a spring-and-damper element. The transversely extending axle tube is held by way of a center bearing in a cardanically disposed manner on the vehicle body and, in the area of the center bearing, has at least one softly bending zone. The free ends of the longitudinally extending axle tube are swivellably connected with transverse struts and are supported on the vehicle body in bearings.

Wheel suspension for a motor vehicle

A wheel suspension for an axle of a motor vehicle has a transverse control arm and tension strut, the transverse control arm being held on the wheel carrier by way of a joint, and the body-side bearings of the transverse control arm and of the tension strut as well as of the connection bearing between the transverse control arm and the tension strut being constructed with a defined characteristic for the elastokinematic adjustment of the wheel under the effect of lateral and peripheral forces acting upon the wheel. The transverse control arm with the connected tension strut is arranged below a wheel drive shaft and--with respect to the driving direction--in front of a tie rod. In the top view, the tension strut extends diagonally toward the front, the transverse control arm and the tie rod having a positive position with respect to one another. They form a wheel steering pole situated outside the track width and behind the wheel center transverse plane. In front of the wheel center transverse plane and outside the wheel center longitudinal plane, a point of intersection is formed through an axis extending through the wheel-carrier-side joint of the transverse control arm and the body-side bearing of a McPherson spring strut or, alternatively, of an upper side double arm and spring strut assembly.

Wheel suspension system with elastokinematic wheel adjustment

A wheel suspension for an axle of a motor vehicle, particularly a McPherson front axle, has a transverse control arm and a pivotally connected tension strut, the transverse control arm being held on the wheel carrier by way of a joint, and the body-side bearings of the transverse control arm and of the tension strut as well as of the connection bearing between the transverse control arm and the tension strut being constructed with a defined characteristic for the elastokinematic adjustment of the wheel under the effect of peripheral forces acting upon the wheel. The transverse control arm with the connected tension strut is arranged in an approximately horizontal plane and extends below the wheel spin axis approximately in a wheel center transverse plane. The tension strut is pivotally connected to the transverse control arm by way of a connection bearing and extends at an angle diagonally with respect to a longitudinal center axis of the vehicle. The transverse control arm is arranged, in each case, at a distance in the perpendicular and longitudinal direction with respect to a tie rod of a steering gear arranged below the wheel spin axis and--with respect to the driving direction--in front of the transverse control arm.
