A medical or dental fluid-driven handle with a control or regulation circuit for the control or regulation of the rotational speed of a rotary part to a predetermined rotational speed and methods are presented. The handle comprises a rotary part that can be set in rotary motion by a drive fluid, a fluid line carrying the drive fluid to or from the rotary part or a fluid branch line that is connected to a fluid line carrying the drive fluid, and a control or regulation circuit that is designed to control or regulate the rotational speed of the rotary part. An electrodynamic converter is driven by the rotary part for generating electrical energy. An actuator element is configured to act on the drive fluid and is electrically connected to the electrodynamic converter such that the actuator element is supplied with electrical energy generated by the electrodynamic converter.

Fluid-driven medical or dental handle

A medical or dental, fluid-driven handle with a control or regulation circuit for the limiting, control or regulation to a maximum or predetermined rotational speed and a corresponding process are presented. The handle comprises a rotary part that can be set in rotary motion by a drive fluid, a fluid line carrying the drive fluid to or from the rotary part or a fluid branch line that is connected to a fluid line carrying drive fluid, and a control or regulation circuit designed to limit, control or regulate the rotational speed of the rotary part. An electrodynamic converter is driven by the rotary part for generating electrical energy and at least one actuator element is configured to act on the drive fluid. The actuator element is electrically connected to the electrodynamic converter such that it is supplied with electrical energy generated by the electrodynamic converter.

There is disclosed a medical or dental hand-piece element comprising a coupling mechanism for a detachable connection of the hand-piece element to a drive unit, a tool receptacle that is or can be connected to the hand-piece element, and a drive element for transmitting a driving movement from the drive unit to the tool receptacle so that the tool receptacle can be set into a working movement, wherein the drive element comprises at least one rotatable shaft, and a generator for converting mechanical energy into electric energy, wherein the generator can be driven by the at least one rotatable shaft of the drive element.

Medical or dental hand-piece element

Described herein is a medical or dental handpiece head having a head sleeve detachably connected by a screw or threaded connection to a closing cap, and a locking device for locking the closing cap with the head sleeve. The locking device between the closing cap and the head sleeve is formed by at least one spring element. The locking device is designed and arranged so that unintentional release of the screw connection between the closing cap and the head sleeve caused by vibrations during operation of the handpiece can be suppressed.

Medical or dental handpiece head

There is disclosed a medical handpiece, in particular a dental handpiece, having a lighting device which includes at least one optical semiconductor element, whereby the at least one optical semiconductor element is arranged at least partially in the interior of the handpiece and is detachably connected to the handpiece. On account of this design, it is possible for the user to easily connect the handpiece to an optical semiconductor element that is needed for a certain treatment and has, for example, a certain desired power level and/or emits a desired wavelength. The handpiece may thus be used for different applications without requiring any additional components such as switches, etc., that take up space. The outside dimensions of the handpiece remain substantially unchanged in comparison with known handpieces.

Medical handpiece with a lighting device

Medical, in particular dental, contra-angle handpieces for driving a dental instrument connected to the contra-angle handpiece with shafts arranged in the contra-angle handpiece for the transmission of the drive movement to the instrument. In order to achieve a reduction of sound emission and a reduction of the manufacturing and assembly costs while still incorporating the curvature of the outer sleeve of the contra-angle handpiece and the advantages which this entails, the contra-angle handpiece is equipped with a single-piece shaft which is essentially centered at the proximal end and the distal end of the outer sleeve, but runs eccentrically in a section of the outer sleeve between the proximal end and the distal end. The curvature of the outer sleeve of the contra-angle handpiece is in the range of about 8&#xb0; to about 16&#xb0;, and in some implementations, in the range of about 10&#xb0; to about 14&#xb0;.

Medical contra-angle handpiece

A rotation locking device located in the area of two separate, independent shafts or shaft sections for preventing the undesired rotation of a shaft or shaft section. The rotation locking device includes a locking pin which, in its idle position (during operation of the appliance), rests on a displacement surface of a shaft or shaft section. In the event of the undesired rotation of a shaft (caused, for example, when a tool is being unscrewed from a coupling which is connected to the shafts), the shaft underneath the locking pin turns until the pin is forced out of the displacement surface, is displaced outwards radially and pressed against a component which is fixed to the body of the appliance (e.g. the bearing sleeve of the gearbox in which the rotation locking device is fitted). Any further rotation of the shafts is prevented in this manner.

Rotation lock device for preventing undesired rotation of a shaft especially for handpieces used in medical treatments

A collapsible angle piece for dental or surgical use has a head part, an elbow part detachably connected to the head part, and a handle detachably connected to the elbow part remote from the head part and having an actuating surface. The elbow part has a cage that is axially moveable between a locking position and a release position. At least one locking element is radially moveably supported in the cage, wherein the at least one locking element can be in a radially inner position or a radially outer position depending on whether the cage is in the locking position or in the release position. At least one elongate actuating member is arranged in the elbow part so as to be substantially axially moveable, wherein the at least one elongate actuating member has a first end cooperating with the cage and a second end cooperating with the actuating surface of the handle.

Angle piece for dental or surgical use

A releasable chucking device for a rotating medical or dental tool includes a tool shaft with a chucking end, wherein the chucking end of the tool shaft has a flattened portion and an annular groove in the area of the flattened portion, wherein the chucking device further includes a holding member protruding radially inwardly into the annular groove during operation, and an additional frictionally engaging support of the tool, for example, by providing the sleeve surrounding the circular cylindrical portion of the tool shaft with a collet or to construct the sleeve as a collet.

Releasable chucking device for a rotating medical or dental tool

A filter for spray ducts of dental or surgical handpieces, wherein transfer of media from a coupling hose to the handpiece takes place through a plurality of small openings in an essentially cylindrical portion of the coupling hose of the handpiece, wherein the size of the openings determines the filtering properties. The essentially cylindrical portion has a collection duct located radially outside of the filter openings, wherein the collection duct is connected with a spray line.
