A method and a magnetic resonance tomography (MRT) system are provided. The MRT system includes a controller configured to store a transmit vector that is established on a local-coil-specific basis. The transmit vector, for a specific local coil, indicates with which amplitudes and phases, transmit elements of the local coil may be controlled by a transmit device. The controller is configured to initiate a patient-specific calibration measurement on a patient to generate patient-specific calibration data representing a field distribution. The controller is also configured to determine deviations in the patient-specific calibration data from the stored transmit vector established on a local-coil-specific basis. The patient-specific calibration data is generated in the patient-specific calibration measurement on the patient and represents a field distribution. An imaging MRT measurement is not allowed if deviations exceed a threshold value, but is otherwise performed and is monitored by a monitoring device.

MRT and method for operating a clinical pTX system

A patient couch for a magnetic resonance tomography system and a magnetic resonance tomography system are provided. The patient couch includes a feed facility for radiofrequency energy having a plurality of conduction paths for feeding radiofrequency energy. The patient couch also includes a plurality of plug-in connectors for local coils having a transmit coil, and a distribution structure for the distribution of radiofrequency energy from the feed facility to the plug-in connectors.

At least one embodiment of the combined position emission tomography/magnetic resonance imaging apparatus is developed further in that a first molding is provided, whose surface coincides with the inner shell of the at least one gradient coil, and a second molding is provided, whose surface coincides with the outer shell of the radiation detector, the distance between the two shells being virtually constant over the circumference of the shells, and a vacuum seal being arranged in each case along at least a first and a second circumferential line such that a closed cavity is formed between the vacuum seals.

Combined positron emission tomography / magnetic resonance imaging apparatus

An RF antenna arrangement of a combined MR/PET system is disclosed. In at least one embodiment, the RF antenna arrangement includes a first part installed in the examination tunnel in a fashion fixed to the system such that it is arranged underneath the couch board when the latter is introduced, and a second part, which can be placed onto the couch board and be introduced into and withdrawn from the examination tunnel together with the couch board. In at least one embodiment, the second part is of dimensionally stable design and has a clear cross section that is adapted to the object to be examined. Consequently, the time outlay for applying the RF antenna is reduced, and the fixed position of the RF antenna enables a correction of the attenuation of gamma rays. Furthermore, a number of second parts having various diameters can be provided.

Field generating unit of a combined MR/PET system

A device for superposed magnetic resonance tomography and positron emission tomography imaging is disclosed. In at least one embodiment, the device includes a magnetic resonance tomography magnet, which defines a longitudinal axis; a magnetic resonance tomography gradient coil, arranged radially within the magnetic resonance tomography magnet; a magnetic resonance tomography RF coil, arranged radially within the magnetic resonance tomography gradient coil; and a multiplicity of positron emission tomography detection units, arranged in pairs lying opposite to one another about the longitudinal axis. In at least one embodiment, the many positron emission tomography detection units are arranged radially within the magnetic resonance tomography gradient coil and are arranged along the longitudinal axis next to the magnetic resonance tomography RF coil.

Device for superimposed MRI and PET imaging

A device is disclosed for superposed MRI and PET imaging and includes an MRI tube that has a first field of view along its longitudinal direction, and a multiplicity of PET detection units arranged opposite one another in pairs about the longitudinal direction. In at least one embodiment the many PET detection units define a second field of view along the longitudinal direction, and their arrangement density along the longitudinal direction is optimized such that the second field of view substantially corresponds to the first field of view.

A detection unit is disclosed for arrangement in the main magnet of an MR device, which has both an RF transceiver system and a PET detector. In at least one embodiment the RF transceiver system is divided into two parts and the two parts are arranged upstream and downstream of the PET detector in the longitudinal direction of the patient tunnel. The RF transceiver system and PET detector are applied to the same image volume. In at least one other embodiment, an MR device is equipped with the detection unit, and in at least one other embodiment, a method operates the detection unit.

In a method for matching a transmission/reception antenna in a nuclear magnetic resonance imaging apparatus to the impedance of a high-frequency system which feeds the antenna, a directional coupler is used for acquiring respective signals corresponding to a forward voltage wave supplied to the antenna, and the associated return voltage wave. The amplitudes of the forward and return waves are calculated in a controller for all matching conditions of a transformation network, the transformation network being interconnected between the high frequency system and the antenna. When a tomogram is to be produced, the transformation network is set so that the antenna is matched as best as is possible to the high-frequency system. The same method can be used for matching an antenna which is only used for reception when producing tomograms.

Method for matching antennas in a nuclear magnetic resonance imaging

An anti-interference filter for radio-shielding a feeder to a gradient coil in a nuclear magnetic resonance imaging apparatus is constructed as a band elimination (band rejection) filter for the operating frequency of the nuclear magnetic resonance imaging apparatus. The anti-interference filter can be in the form of a directionally symmetrical quadrupole having two input terminals and two output terminals. A first input terminal and a first output terminal are introducible into the feeder to the gradient coil, and a second input terminal and a second output terminal are connected to a conductor at reference potential. A number of blocking circuits are arranged in series between the first input terminal and the first output terminal. A number acceptor circuits are arranged between the input terminals, between the junctions of the blocking circuits and the reference potential conductor, and between the output terminals. The number of acceptor circuits is one more than the number of blocking circuits.
