An LED retrofit lamp is described. The LED retrofit lamp includes LEDs arranged into at least a first group of LEDs and a second group of LEDs, power contacts, an interface and a controller. The power contacts receive electrical power to operate the LEDs. The interface supplies control signals to operate one or more of the first group and the second group of LEDs. The controller receives the control signals and operates the first group of LEDs and the second group of LEDs independent from each other based on the received control signals.

Addressable LED retrofit for vehicle light

A camera is described that includes a first imager and a processor communicatively coupled to the first imager. The first imager captures images of a roadway on which a vehicle is located when operating. The processor, when operating, generates a signal to cause a first hybridized device in the vehicle to project a first patterned light on to an object on the roadway, generates a signal to cause the first imager to capture an image of the first patterned light projected on the object, receives the image from the first imager, and detects the object on the roadway based on the first patterned light captured in the image.

Vehicle camera vision and control system and method

A lighting system for a vehicle is described, which includes a first hybridized device, a second hybridized device and a controller. The first hybridized device includes a first array of light emitting devices that illuminate a roadway on which the vehicle is located when operating. The second hybridized device includes a second array of light emitting devices that illuminate the roadway on which the vehicle is located when operating. The controller is electrically coupled to the first and second hybridized devices. When operating, the controller causes the first hybridized device to selectively project a first patterned light on to an object on the roadway, causes the first hybridized device to selectively project a second patterned light on to the object on the roadway, and causes a first camera to capture an image of the first patterned light projected on the object and the second patterned light projected on the object.

Controllable headlamp system

A gas discharge lamp has an inner bulb with a discharge vessel with two sealing sections thereon, from which electrodes protrude into the discharge vessel, each electrically connected with a conductor in the associated sealing section to supply current to the electrodes. The lamp also has an outer bulb surrounding the discharge vessel, leaving a cavity therebetween. Close to at least one of the electrodes in or near a transitional area between the discharge vessel and the associated sealing section on an outside of the inner bulb is arranged potential-free a conductive structure which on application of a voltage to the electrodes influences the electrical field adjacent the electrodes such that a discharge arc travels from the electrode first in the direction of a wall section of the discharge vessel adjacent the electrode and then over the inside of the wall toward the other electrode.

Gas discharge lamp

A high-pressure gas discharge lamp has a sealed discharge vessel with an inner discharge space. Two electrodes project into the discharge space. The filling in the discharge space includes metal halides and a rare gas. The filling is free of Hg and Th and includes halides in an amount of 7.1-11.4 &#x3bc;g/mmof the volume of the discharge space. The halides includes at least NaI and ScI, provided in such amounts that a ratio of the masses of NaI to ScIis 1.2-1.6.

Thorium-free discharge lamp with reduced halides and increased relative amount of Sc

A method for manufacturing a discharge lamp comprising at least two tubes or bulbs is disclosed. The lamp is especially a high intensity discharge lamp for use for example in a head lamp of a vehicle, and comprises an inner tube or bulb for enclosing an arc discharge chamber and an outer tube or bulb () for sealingly enclosing the inner tube or bulb, wherein the inner volume of the outer tube or bulb () is evacuated or filled with a gas in an easy and reliable way by using at least one two-step pinching and/or roll-on process for fixation of both tubes at least at one of their axial ends, wherein in a first step the fixation is carried out in such a way that a passage () remains that runs in an at least substantially axial direction of the lamp between the inner volume of the outer tube () and the outside of the axial end () of the inner tube or bulb through which passage the inner volume is evacuated and/or filled with a gas, and wherein in a second step the passage is sealingly closed by carrying out a second pinching or roll-on process.

Method for manufacturing a double tube discharge lamp

A gas discharge lamp () with a discharge vessel (), a first electrode () projecting into the discharge vessel (), and a second electrode () projecting into the discharge vessel () is described. The first electrode () is connected to an electrically conductive first conductor surface () surrounding the discharge vessel (). The second electrode () is connected to an electrically conductive second conductor surface () surrounding the discharge vessel () and arranged such that it overlaps the first conductor surface () so as to form a capacitance (C).

Gas discharge lamp with reduced electromagnetic interference radiation

A gas discharge lamp () is described with a discharge vessel () and electrodes () projecting into the discharge vessel (). The gas discharge lamp () is provided with a translucent, electrically conductive screening () which screens the discharge vessel () and which comprises connection means (). The screening () of the gas discharge lamp () is connected to a screening () of an electrical system used for operating the gas discharge lamp () at least as regards high frequencies so as to form a coaxial screening system that encloses the discharge vessel () with its electrodes ().
