A suction gripper system includes a suction calotte for the handling of at least one article and a counterpart configured correspondingly to the suction calotte. Further, the suction gripper system includes a magnetic element and a movably mounted ball, which are arranged to interact magnetically with respect to one another to influence a spatial position of the suction calotte in relation to the counterpart. Further, a method for handling the at least one article, a method for producing at least one spectacle lens, and the use of the suction gripper system are disclosed.

Suction gripper system for handling at least one article

A carrier device () is for handling a lens () which is received therein and which has a lateral edge (), in particular for handling an eyeglass lens () in a machining or finishing process. The carrier device () comprises a main body () and has a connecting member () for releasably connecting the main body () to the received lens (). The connecting member () forms, with the main body (), a protective cover () surrounding the lateral edge () of the received lens () and a surface () of the received lens () directed toward the main body (). The connecting member () is releasably connected to the main body ().

Method for handling a lens

A method for making a spectacle lens includes joining a mold and a sealing ring. The mold has an integrated block piece and a mold shell made by primary shaping and the sealing ring has a first end face, a second end face, a peripheral seal, an opening disposed on the first end face configured to receive a mold, and a flexible membrane on the second end face. A polymerizable material is introduced into the mold cavity with the aid of a pump action of the flexible membrane of the sealing ring. The flexible membrane of the sealing ring is fixed in a desired surface shape and the polymerization is carried out. The mold is removed with a cast-on spectacle lens blank.
