A method for manufacturing a bioresorbable implant, wherein a magnesium alloy is formed into an implant. A melt is pressed into a die and gases in the die induce turbulence in the inflowing melt, thereby enclosing gas, so that the porous implant is formed with a porosity, which increases from outside inwardly. The surface of the implant is substantially free from open pores.

The present invention is directed to a magnesium alloy containing 5.0% by wt.-25.5% by wt. dysprosium, 0.01% by wt.-5.0% by wt. neodymium and/or europium, 0.1% by wt. 3.0% by wt. zinc, 0.1% by wt.-2.0% by wt. Zirconium, and balance to 100.0% by wt. magnesium, being degradable under physiological conditions and which is particularly suitable for the production of absorbable stents and to stents made thereof.

The present invention is directed to stents made of a magnesium alloy degradable under physiological conditions and an outer polymeric coating. Herein, the stents according to the invention can be additionally coated with at least one anti-inflammatory, antiproliferative, antiangiogenic, antirestenotic and/or antithrombogenic active agent.

The present invention relates to a process for producing components consisting of magnesium or magnesium alloy by sintering. This process makes it possible, for the first time, to produce components consisting of magnesium or magnesium alloy which provide outstanding elasticity together with a sufficient strength. Materials of this type can be used as biocompatible endosseous implant materials.
