An internal combustion engine has first and second non-deactivatable cylinder banks. Each cylinder bank is assigned exhaust lines which extend from exhaust manifolds. First and second exhaust-gas turbocharger in the exhaust line are assigned to the first and second cylinders, respectively. A first catalytic converter in the first exhaust line contains the first exhaust-gas turbocharger, and is arranged downstream of the first exhaust-gas turbocharger as viewed in the flow direction of the exhaust gas of the first cylinder bank. A second catalytic converter in the second exhaust line contains the second exhaust-gas turbocharger, and is arranged downstream of the second exhaust-gas turbocharger as viewed in the flow direction of the exhaust gas of the second cylinder bank. A flow transfer line is arranged between the first and the second exhaust line, and a first control element, by an exhaust-gas mass flow passing through the flow transfer line can be regulated.

Internal combustion engine having an exhaust-gas and charge-air guidance arrangement

An internal combustion engine with an exhaust gas manifold, an exhaust gas line, an exhaust gas turbocharger, by which the compressor provided to charge combustion air for the internal combustion engine is driven, and a bypass line, which branches from the exhaust gas line and in which a power turbine is arranged, wherein a short-circuit line branches from the bypass line and leads to a section of the exhaust gas line located downstream of the exhaust gas turbocharger. In addition, a first valve is positioned in the section of the exhaust gas line located downstream of the exhaust gas turbocharger in such a way that exhaust gas leaving the exhaust gas turbocharger is diverted into the short-circuit line and then to the power turbine.

Internal combustion engine with exhaust gas turbocharger

A valve operating mechanism for internal-combustion engines has a valve and a pressure spring which is to move the valve into a closed end position and which is supported on a spring plate. For the reduction of the valve operating masses, at least the valve, the pressure spring and the spring plate are optimized with respect to their weight. The spring plate consists of a plastic material and has widenings of the cross-section for absorbing the occurring stresses.
