The invention provides a process for the continuous successive drawing and texturizing of undrawn multifilament polyester yarns according to the knit/deknit process, wherein undrawn filaments or yarns having a high preorientation corresponding to a yield stress of above 7.5 cN/tex are continuously drawn at room temperature and immediately thereafter subjected to a known knit/deknit texturizing.

Process for the continuous drawing and texturizing of filaments

The invention relates to a yarn composed of false twist texturized synthetic yarn components where one of the components only has a crimp contraction of less than 10% and to a process for preparing the yarn, in which the yarn component with reduced crimp contraction is obtained by using a number of turns of false twist reduced to 35 to 65% of the Heberlein value and, if appropriate, texturizing temperatures of 120.degree. to 180.degree. C.

False twist texturized yarn, and a process for its preparation

The invention relates to a process for making texturized multifilament yarns having profiled polyester filaments, by means of draw false twist texturizing, wherein feed yarns which are multifilament yarns having a high pre-orientation which corresponds to a birefringence of more than 65.times.10.sup.-3 are simultaneously drawn and false twist texturized without a reduction of the twist number but at temperatures which are no more than 30.degree. C. above the glass transition temperature (second order transition temperature) of the polymer and to the resulting luster yarns, the cross-section profiles of which are largely retained in this special texturizing process.

A process for the manufacture of slub yarns obtained from continuous filaments, which comprises feeding continuous filaments through the inlet orifice of a guide tube at a feed rate superior to the withdrawal rate at the outlet orifice, and sucking them into a connecting tube by means of a sucking jet in such a manner that an increasingly enlarging open loop is formed; wherein a gaseous medium, in intervals and periods of time programmed by a control system, is blown into the connecting tube, thereby passing through the feeder tube of a blowing jet mounted to the end of the connecting tube which is adjacent to the guide tube; the gaseous medium causing a ligature of the neck of the open loop of the yarn, which loop so ligatured is subsequently united over its total length with the continuous filament.

Slub yarns obtained from blowing and sucking process

The present invention concerns a process for preparing essentially smooth filament yarns having several loose filament ends stick out, wherein at least a portion of the used filaments has a flex abrasion resistance of below abt. 1 500 revol. and wherein a filament bonding is imparted in known manner to the filament yarns subject to this treatment and wherein same are then submitted to a transversal stress, at which occasion the filaments having a flex abrasion resistance of below 1 500 revol. break in irregular intervals and wherein the thus obtained loose filament ends of the filament yarns may, optionally, be temporarily interlaced by known methods so as to ameliorate the filament bonding and the filament yarns so obtained. These yarns are distinguished by excellent uniform characteristics all over their length and may be worked up to fabrics having an extremely low tendency to pilling.
