A plurality of encrypted packets having common payload data are received, wherein each of the plurality of encrypted packets includes a corresponding parity check field, and wherein a corresponding parity check syndrome for each of the plurality of encrypted packets indicates at least one bit error. A payload portion of each of the plurality of encrypted packets is decrypted to generate a plurality of decrypted payload portions. At least one chase coding technique is used to generate a corrected decrypted payload, based on at least one candidate bit error position and further based on the corresponding parity check syndrome for at least one of the plurality of encrypted packets.

A Bluetooth low energy (BLE) device receives advertising packets from an advertising BLE device. The BLE device filters the received advertising packets utilizing hardware to search for the advertiser. If the advertiser is not found by the hardware, the packet filtering continues utilizing firmware. Device identity information, comprising non-private and/or private device identities, of preferred BLE devices is partitioned to form a different white list for the hardware, firmware, and host, respectively, to concurrently support privacy and white listing. If the advertiser is found by the hardware, the hardware sends a response to the advertiser following a successful CRC check performed in the hardware. If the advertiser is found by the firmware, the device identity information of the advertiser is inserted in the white list for the hardware. The host may be awakened based on the device configuration and/or attribute type information of the received advertising packets.

Method and system for multi-stage device filtering in a bluetooth low energy device

Aspects of a method and system for Bluetooth conditional synchronization are provided. In this regard, a synchronization code of a piconet may be included in each transmitted Bluetooth packets and a portion of the received synchronization code may be used for a synchronization process. The received synchronization code may be selectively sampled at a Bluetooth device. The Bluetooth device may determine a puncturing pattern to detect selected samples in the received synchronization code. The punctured received synchronization code may correlate to a reference code derived from a Bluetooth device address of the master device. The correlation value may be compared to a predetermined threshold value to indicate a success or a failure of the synchronization process. The threshold value as well as the puncture pattern may be user specific or centrally controlled, and they may be programmed or updated dynamically based on various conditions.

In a radio comprising a transmitter and a receiver, transmission and reception of signals may be controlled based on received signal strength measurements from a signal strength indicator module and transmitted signal strength measurements from the signal strength indicator module. For the transmitted signal strength measurements, the shared signal strength indicator module may measure signal strength of a signal output by a power amplifier. For the received signal strength measurements, the shared signal strength indicator module may measure signal strength of a received signal. A capacitance coupled to an output of the power amplifier may be configured based on a frequency of the signal output by the power amplifier. A gain of the power amplifier may be controlled based on the transmitted signal strength measurements. For the transmitted signal strength measurements, an analog-to-digital converter may process the signal output by the power amplifier.
