A method and system for providing a customer with a service upon a service request. The method includes retrieving a dataset from a database for identifying a qualified service person using information about the service, the service person and a customer; establishing communication with the customer; and providing the customer with the service. After the service is performed, the retrieved dataset is updated to maintain accurate information stored in the database.

A PC-arrangement is for visualisation, diagnosis and expert systems for monitoring, controlling or regulating high voltage supply units of electric filters. The PC-arrangement for visualisation, diagnosis and expert systems for monitoring, controlling and regulating high voltage supply units of electric filters includes a server-PC which is linked to high-voltage supply units of electric filters via a first network; and a client-PC forming a second network with the server-PC. In order to keep the network load on the first network connecting the server PC to the high voltage supply units as low as possible and to use Microsoft-standard mechanisms for distributed systems in order to achieve network capability for visualisation and measuring data processing systems, a software structure of the PC-device is broken down into autarchic software modules which respectively carry out at least one function. One autarchic server software module is formed in order to carry out data transfer and data exchange with the high-voltage supply units. The server software module is executed on the server PC connected to the high voltage supply units of the electric filters via the first network, and the other software modules are executed on each client-PC or the server-PC.

Disclosed is a high-voltage supply unit for electofilters. The unit includes high-voltage devices which are arranged close to the electrofilter and by which the electrofilter is supplied with high voltage, measuring heads which are assigned to the high-voltage devices and by which measured values and optional diagnostic data from the high-voltage devices are detected and transmitted, and control units, each of which is assigned to one high-voltage device and by which the high-voltage devices assigned thereto are controlled and regulated according to the requirements and by taking into account measured values and optional diagnostic data that are transmitted by the measuring heads. In order to improve the quality of signals during transmission between the measuring heads that are located at the high-voltage device and the control units, especially when the distances between the high-voltage devices that are placed near the electrofilter and the control units which are disposed in a control room or similar are relatively great, while keeping the technical complexity and expenses relatively low, each of the measuring heads which are placed at the high-voltage device end is provided with an LWL interface, the measuring heads are connected to a first local LWL network via the LWL interfaces thereof, the control units are interconnected by means of a second local LWL network, and the local LWL network which is located at the high-voltage device end and the local LWL network which is located at the control unit end are coupled to each other by way of an LWL connection.

Transmission of measured values in high-voltage supply units for electrofilters

The present invention provides an efficient and simple method and system for providing a customer with a service on demand. The invention is based on providing a plurality of interconnected technical devices with remote access. During operation of a technical installation including the technical devices, operating data are acquired, encrypted and stored in a operation database. Upon an explicit service request by the customer, at least one of the technical devices sets up a remote connection to a service center, preferably by using a smart card including Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) data for validating the smart card, where the remote connection is verified and the encrypted data stored in the operation database are read out and decrypted. Based on the decrypted data&#x2014;which represent a current status of the technical installation&#x2014;, a service activity is efficiently performed at the technical installation, either remotely or locally.

In a power supply for an electronic precipitator with a power electronics part, a transformer connected at the output side and a high-voltage rectifier, the transformer and the high-voltage rectifier as well as a device for measured value acquisition are situated in the immediate proximity of the electronic precipitator, and the power electronics part is situated at a location remote from the electronic precipitator and, for control, is coupled to the device for measured value acquisition via optical conductors.

A filter short circuit is detected when the primary voltage of the high-voltage transformer drops below a specified minimum value and does not rise above the specified minimum value during a specified delay period and a filter current is greater than a specified minimum current. No current is drawn from the external current supply for a variable time delay when a filter short circuit is detected. A filter short circuit count is incremented when a filter short circuit is detected. When the count exceeds a specified, variable limit within a specified, variable time span, the indirect converter is disconnected.
