A pressure intensifier device increases pressure in a pressurized fluid chamber of a piston/cylinder unit. The pressure intensifier device has a pressure intensifier cylinder and a pressure intensifier piston, which is guided in an axially movable manner in the cylinder, wherein the pressure intensifier cylinder has an outlet region, an inlet region upstream of the outlet region and a piston guiding chamber, and the pressure intensifier piston has a piston part, which is guided in the piston guiding chamber, and a piston rod, which extends from the piston part to the inlet region, in a maximally retracted release position releases a fluid connection between the inlet region and the outlet region and, in a maximally advanced blocking position, blocks this connection with a free end portion, with which it extends into the outlet region. Over a portion that can be passed through by the free end portion of the piston rod during movement from the release position into the blocking position, the outlet region has a free passage cross section for the free piston rod end portion that is at least equal in size to a rod cross section of the free piston rod end portion. A pressure intensifier inlet valve can be controlled independently of a pressure in the pressurized fluid chamber of the piston/cylinder unit.

Pressure intensifier device, diecasting machine casting unit and operating method

A pressure intensifier device for increasing pressure in a pressurized fluid chamber of a piston/cylinder unit and a casting unit provided therewith for a diecasting machine, and also an associated operating method are provided. The pressure intensifier device has a pressure intensifier cylinder and a pressure intensifier piston, which is guided in an axially movable manner in the cylinder, wherein the pressure intensifier cylinder has an outlet region, an inlet region upstream of the outlet region and a piston guiding chamber, and the pressure intensifier piston has a piston part, which is guided in the piston guiding chamber, and a piston rod, which extends from the piston part to the inlet region, in a maximally retracted release position releases a fluid connection between the inlet region and the outlet region and, in a maximally advanced blocking position, blocks this connection with a free end portion, with which it extends into the outlet region. Over a portion that can be passed through by the free end portion of the piston rod during movement from the release position into the blocking position, the outlet region has a free passage cross section for the free piston rod end portion that is at least equal in size to a rod cross section of the free piston rod end portion. Advantageously, a pressure intensifier inlet valve can be controlled independently of a pressure in the pressurized fluid chamber of the piston/cylinder unit.

A casting component and method for the application of an anticorrosive layer to a substrate, such as the casting component, are provided. The casting component for a device for casting a metal melt includes a metallic basic body and a melt contact surface region which is exposed to the metal melt during casting operation. In the casting component, the metallic basic body is provided in the melt contact surface region with an anticorrosive layer which is resistant to the metal melt and which is formed, using microparticles and/or nanoparticles of one or more substances from a substance group which includes borides, nitrides and carbides of the transition metals and their alloys and also of boron and silicon and AlO.

A hot runner feed system is provided for a diecasting mold, wherein the feed system has a melt manifold and feed block construction having an entry-side feed inflow opening, at least one first and one second exit-side feed outflow opening which open into a mold separation plane between a fixed mold half and a movable mold half of the diecasting mold, and a casting runner-duct structure that extends so as to branch out from the feed inflow opening to the feed outflow openings. The melt manifold and feed block construction at least in an exit-side block region that includes the two feed outflow openings in a transverse direction parallel with the mold separation plane in relation to a predefined nominal operating extent is made so as to be shortened by an expansion dimension which has been predefined as a thermal transverse expansion of this block region when heated from a room temperature range to a predefined operating temperature range that is elevated in relation to said room temperature range.

Hot runner feed system for a diecasting mould

A collapsible core is provided for attachment to a mold half of a casting mold, particularly a diecasting mold. The collapsible core can take the form of a removable collapsible core which can be detachably mounted on the mold half on the mold cavity side. A collapsible core can have a core cylinder body of at least two first core sections in the form of cylinder segments and at least two second core sections in the form of cylinder segments arranged alternating with the first sections over the circumferential direction. The first and the second core sections are retained moveably relative to one another. The relative movement here between the first and the second core sections consists of an axial relative movement component between the first and the second core sections and a radial collapsing movement of the first and/or the second core section.

A device is provided for controlling the advancing movement of a casting plunger in a casting chamber of a cold-chamber die casting machine by way of an actuating signal, the advancing movement comprising a chamber filling movement phase from a partial filling position, with a partially filled casting chamber starting volume, to a full filling position, with a filled casting chamber remaining volume. In the device, a respective associated progression of an actuating signal is provided for different specified sets of values of a plurality of process parameters that influence the movement of the molten material in the casting chamber during the chamber filling movement phase, which progression is defined as the most suitable actuating signal progression for the particular set of parameter values. The device is designed to use the most suitable actuating signal progression in dependence on values of the process parameters pertaining at the beginning of a casting cycle for controlling the casting plunger advancing movement during the chamber filling movement phase. The plurality of process parameters include at least one casting chamber geometry parameter, at least one filling amount parameter, at least one casting mold parameter and/or at least one casting chamber temperature or molten material temperature parameter.

Control device for the advancing motion of a casting plunger

A casting plunger for a casting unit of a casting machine, includes a casting-plunger shut-off valve integrated into the casting plunger, having a valve seat and a valve body interacting therewith, wherein the shut-off valve, in an open position, enables a flow of a melt material through the casting plunger during a melt suction operation and, in a closed position, blocks said flow during a mold-filling operation. The casting plunger has a plunger sleeve, which is placeable against an inner wall of a casting cylinder of the casting unit and contains the valve seat, and a plunger ram which contains the valve body. The plunger sleeve and the plunger ram are movable axially with respect to one another by a predefinable valve stroke.

A diecasting machine casting unit includes a casting chamber body having a casting chamber with a casting material inlet and outlet. A casting piston is movable forward in a longitudinal direction in the casting chamber to discharge casting material from the casting chamber under pressure via the outlet, and is movable back, whereby casting material is feedable into the casting chamber via the inlet. The casting piston extends through a through-passage of the casting chamber body from outside into the casting chamber. An area of free space of the casting chamber is formed between an outer lateral surface of the casting piston and an inner wall surface of the casting chamber body transversely relative to the casting piston longitudinal direction by an outer cross section of the casting piston being appropriately smaller than an inner cross section of the casting chamber body.

A casting machine system includes a first casting machine and a separate second casting machine, wherein the first casting machine is a metal-casting machine and the second casting machine is a plastic-casting machine, or the first casting machine is a plastic-casting machine and the second casting machine is a metal-casting machine. The feed block unit is designed as a structural unit which is insertable independently into a respective casting mold, and/or the heating system integrated therein includes at least a first heating device for supply channel heating and a second heating device, which can be controlled independently of the first heating device, for sprue channel heating. With this modular hot-runner feed system, individual temperature profiles can be predetermined and set for the respective feed block unit.

A metering device for a hot chamber die-casting machine includes a casting container attachable to a crucible of the hot chamber die-casting machine, a riser channel in a riser channel area, and a casting piston unit for metered conveying of melt out of the crucible via the riser channel. A heating device is provided with a flameless heating unit for active heating of at least a part of the riser channel area. The heating unit is placed inside a piston rod leadthrough bore, electrically insulated from the riser channel in a riser bore containing the riser channel, or in a heater receiving space specially provided in the casting container.

Heatable metering device for a hot chamber die-casting machine

A spray head is described for spraying the molds in pressure casting machines, and in it spray nozzles are mounted on bars equipped with supply passages, which form units which can be placed together. To fit these bar units together, coupling elements in the form of cylindrical pins provided with passages are provided, which are provided with recesses having sloping planes which are engaged by the conical tips of Allen screws and thus produce a clamping together of adjacent bar units. The coupling elements are provided at both end faces with sealing rings and their bore aligns with the passages in the bars. Through the use of angle pieces media supply bars bearing spray nozzles can be joined together at any angle to one another.

A protective gas device for the melting furnaces of pressure die-casting machines, in particular for processing a magnesium melt. A collection container of a mixing device for the components of a protective gas, which covers the melt to prevent oxidation or other damage, is configured as a pressure accumulator and the orifices for feeding the protective gas into the melting furnace are provided with inlet nozzles. Gas flow to the inlet nozzles is regulated by metering devices. The operating pressure is equal to or less than the pressure in the pressure accumulator of the mixing device, but high enough to atomise the jets and produce a turbulent inflow behind the inlet nozzles. Said pressurized protective-gas distribution permits the metering of gas into various furnace chambers or furnaces without repercussions. A uniform concentration of the protective gas can be achieved in all areas by the selective arrangement of the inlet nozzles.
