The invention concerns a composition for the production of shaped bodies, consisting of polymer lignin, shellac and natural fibers and also a method for the production of shaped bodies from such a composition via production of a shaped body through extrusion.

A propellant device of consisting of a compact charge and a firing system for pipe weapons or ballistic drives is proposed. At least one electromagnetic radiation absorbing medium, e.g. carbon black, is dispersed in the compact charge and can be activated by means of a firing system emitting electromagnetic radiation. The compact charge is thereby disintergrated in fragments through triggering of the firing system and the fragments are accelerated into the gas volume produced during burning of the compact charge. The inventive propellant device avoids the use of chemical firing as well as mechanical firing means. Moreover, fragmentation of the compact charge permits maintenance of the produced maximum pressure over a longer period of time to impart a higher muzzle velocity to an object to be accelerated, e.g. a projectile, a rocket or the like.

Propellant device for pipe weapons or ballistic projection

A plastic material made from a polymer blend, is characterized in that said material contains at least one lignin-based natural polymer, in particular based on alkali lignin produced during the extraction of cellulose, and at least one other synthetic and/or natural polymer which increases the impact resistance, proteins excluded. The inventive plastic material has excellent characteristics. It is biodegradable due to the natural polymer content and has, to a considerable extent, an ecologically neutral CO balance. The polymer blend can be used advantageously in place of wood or wood materials.

A gas generating mixture comprises a high nitrogen and low carbon fuel from he group nitroguanidine (NIGU), tiraminoguanidine nitrate (TAGN), diguanidinium-5,5'-azotetrazolate (GZT) or 3-nitro-l,2,3-triazol-5-one (NTO), as well as copper diammine dinitrate Cu(NH.sub.3).sub.2 (NO.sub.3).sub.2 as the oxidizer and a pyrophoric metal or such a metal alloy on a carrier catalyst.

A gas generating mixture comprises a high nitrogen and low carbon fuel from he group nitroguanidine (NIGU), triaminoguanidine nitrate (TAGN), diguanidinium-5,5'-azotetrazolate (GZT) and 3-nitro-1,2-3-triazol-5-one (NTO), as well as copper diammine dinitrate Cu(NH.sub.3).sub.2 (NO.sub.3).sub.2 as the oxidizer and V.sub.2 O.sub.5 /MoO.sub.3 mixed oxides and/or oxide mixtures as the catalyst.

In a process for producing phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate (AN), a diammine complex of Ni or Cu is incorporated into the AN lattice, in which the diammine complex is produced in a solid-state reaction of AN and metal oxide at 110.degree. to 170.degree. C. and in a proportion of up to 10% is either mixed with further AN and melted, homogenized and subsequently transferred into the solid state, or mixed with further AN is incorporated into the AN lattice at between 80.degree. and 170.degree. C. in a solid-state reaction.

A method is disclosed for measuring the rate and/or extent of movement of oscillatory element positioned on an oscillating system by passing a reference beam towards a reference detector over a reference edge. The reference edge is fixed relative to the element. The movement of the measurement edge cuts the measurement beam as it moves into the path of the measurement beam. A reference edge is maintained stationary relative to the measurement edge. A device is provided for generating measurement and reference beams directed towards each of the measurement and reference edges whereby at least the measurement beam is cut by the measurement edge upon movement of the measurement edge relative to the reference edge. Detectors are provided which are adapted to measure the amount of illumination cut by the measurement and reference edges and to generate a corresponding signal.

The lens is fully cylindrical and has an optically thinner medium of cylindrical shape in its interior.
