A cosmetic brush having a bristle section having a main body and bristles that project out from the main body and with which a cosmetic product can be applied. A portion of the bristles forms first bristles that are integrally connected to the main body, wherein the first bristles consist of the same first plastic material as the main body. Another portion of the bristles forms second bristles, softer than the first bristles that are connected to the main body differently than the first bristles. The second bristles are integrally connected to each other by means of a connecting member disposed on the side of the main body wall facing away from the second bristles, and extend through through holes provided in a main body wall, wherein the main body and the connecting member are immediately adjacent to each other and adhesively connected to each other.

The cosmetic brush, which is in particular a mascara brush, includes a bristle portion with a base body and a plurality of bristles that stick out from the base body in a radial direction and serve for the application of a cosmetic product. The bristles have a high bristle density of at least 6 bristles per square millimeter and consist of a plastic material that has a Shore hardness D of more than 40.

In an applicator, especially for mascara, hair dye, or similar cosmetics, including an oblong main body connectable to a rod. The main body is made of a comparatively hard synthetic material. A tubular bristle body having bristle-like, radially outwardly projecting extensions made of a relatively soft synthetic material, is also included. In an applicator for a cosmetic product comprising a rod and an application surface made of a relatively soft material and extending obliquely to the longitudinal axis of the rod, provision is made for said application surface to be formed by a plurality of cones arranged parallel to each other, wherein a fictitious outer envelope and the height of the cone define an application volume for a relatively highly viscous cosmetic product from 10 to 60 mm.
