A charging station for charging a vehicle includes a charger, a camera, a positioner, and a controller. The charger has a transformer part by which electrical energy can be transferred to a corresponding transformer part arranged behind the vehicle license plate when the charger is in a position relative to the license plate at which the transformer parts sandwich the license plate. The camera generates positional information indicative of positioning between the charger and the license plate. The positioner can move the charger within a range of motion. When the license plate is within the range of motion, the positioner moves the charger based on the positional information to the position at which the transformer parts sandwich the license plate. The controller uses the positional information to generate instructions indicative on how to drive the vehicle to a position in which the license plate is within the range of motion.

A sensor device for measuring a physical value includes a sensor element for generating an output signal in response to measuring a physical value. A processor is operable with the sensor element for comparing the output signal to a reference signal in order to generate a primary signal indicative of the measured physical value. The processor is further operable with the sensor element for generating a secondary signal based on the output signal which is indicative of the operating condition of the sensor device. A switch or logic block is operable for receiving the primary and secondary signals from the processor. The switch and the logic block are switchable between a first state in which the primary signal is output and a second state in which the secondary signal is output.

A method for fitting a carrier with a cable harness having main and branch conductors and with a device. A contact element is arranged on the carrier. A top portion of the main conductor, a bottom portion of a first end of the branch conductor, and a top portion of a second end of the branch conductor are exposed. The conductors are arranged on the carrier with the main conductor lying on the carrier, the exposed bottom portion of the branch conductor contacting the exposed top portion of the main conductor, and the exposed top portion of the branch conductor placed on the contact element for realizing a plug connector. The carrier is fitted with a device having a plug connector such that the device is electrically connected to the branch conductor and mechanically connected to the carrier via a connection between the plug connector and the contact element.

An optoelectronic monitoring device for a vehicle includes a single optical sensor array having a grid of optical sensor elements. Each optical sensor element generates an electronic signal in response to optical signals imaged onto the optical sensor elements. Optical imaging systems image respective optical signals onto the optical sensor array. The optical signals of each optical imaging system is representative of a monitored condition of a vehicle. The optical imaging systems form a single physical unit which is fixed with respect to the optical sensor array. Each optical imaging system is associated with a respective optical sensor element group of the optical sensor array such that the respective optical signal of each optical imaging system is imaged onto the respective optical sensor element group. The optical sensor elements are configurable by a processor to be arranged in optical sensor element groups for being associated with respective optical imaging systems.

Optoelectronic monitoring device for a motor vehicle

The invention relates to a method for detecting objects which are located on a transparent panel and which produce light reflexes when illuminated, using a detector unit containing one or more optical sensor arrays. The inventive method comprises the following steps: illuminating the panel in order to produce light reflexes in or on the objects which are located on the panel, from the side of the panel behind which the detector unit is located; image detection of an illuminated section of the panel using the detector unit by preparing two panel section images which together form an image pair, the light reflexes(es) of an object located on the transparent panel produced through illumination being located at differently-positioned image points in each of said panel section images; determining the differential image of the two images of an image pair by subtracting the contents of identically positioned image points of one panel section image from those of the other panel section image and evaluating the differential image determined in terms of the contents corresponding to the individual image points.

Method for detecting objects located on a transparent panel, and corresponding device

A sensor device is proposed for detecting the degree of wetting of a transparent pane by precipitation. The sensor device is provided with a beam guide element, which is affixed to the pane with the aid of an optical adhesive, and is acted upon by heat by a heating apparatus. A beam transmitter and a beam receiver are associated each via a lens. Such a sensor device solves the technical problem of guaranteeing optimum conditions for the transfer of heat to the beam guide element. The beam guide element has, in the central region of its rear surface remote from the pane, a recess lying outside of the beam paths. The recess contains a heating apparatus associated via a coupling medium with the beam guide element.

Sensor device

A sensor device for detecting the degree of wetting of a multi-layer transparent pane, made in particular of glass, by an, in particular, drop-shaped precipitation. The sensor device is provided with a beam guide element which comprises two beam windows and cooperates with a beam transmitter and a beam receiver. In order to prevent spurious beams caused by an extremely thin intermediate layer located in the pane from having a noticeable influence on the signal used to control the windscreen wiper system, the beam guide element comprises a further beam exit window in the central region of its rear surface facing away from the pane. The region is located between the two beam windows. The further beam exit window is allocated to the measuring path and cooperates with an additional beam detector. Only those irrelevant beams reflected at the extremely thin metallic intermediate layer located in the pane exit therefrom. The signal resulting from the existing irrelevant beams which is detected by the additional beam detector is used to correct the signal supplied by the actual beam detector. Alternatively; signal correction can be achieved by an electrical circuit.

Optoelectronic sensor for detecting moisture on a windshield with means

A sensor device which registers the amount of moisture on a transparent screen. The sensor is connected to at least one light conducting element which is provided on one side with at least one beam emitter and on the other side with at least one beam receiver. The light conducting element is provided with a layer of reflecting material to enable multiple reflection of the beam issuing from the beam emitter.

Moisture sensing device

A moisture sensor which registers the amount of moisture from tear-shaped precipitation, particularly on a windshield. The device includes a beam director which is mounted on the windshield by an optical adhesive. The beam director has a beam transmitter on one side and a beam receptor on the other. To ensure an optically perfect attachment of the beam director as an integrated unit to the windshield, there is a parallel relationship between the windshield and the facing surface of the beam director. An optical adhesive is applied to the gap between the windshield and the beam director, and is confined to a particular area.

Moisture sensor

A moisture sensor device for detecting the degree of wetting of a transparent pane by drop-shaped precipitation. The sensor device is provided with a beam guide element, which is affixed to the pane by an optical adhesive. A beam transmitter and a beam receiver are each associated with a lens. Such a sensor device solves the problem of guaranteeing optimum conditions for the generation and output of rays into and out of a beam guide element. Aspherical lenses are associated with and arranged at a short distance from the beam transmitter and the beam receiver. Each lens has a surface facing the beam transmitter or beam receiver which in outline is fashioned according to a polynomial selected to be equal to or greater than the third degree and is developed to form a body of rotation.

Lens system for moisture sensor device

A device is provided for controlling a windscreen wiping system, which mainly comprises a control stage, a clock generator unit comprising a switch and a clock-pulse generator, an I/V converter, a phase-selective rectifier and an amplifier with a low-pass filter as well as an optoelectronic apparatus having a plurality of beam transmitters, a beam guide element and a plurality of beam receivers. Such a device is intended to solve the technical problem of effecting automatic adjustment of the control system even under very widely varying measuring conditions determined in particular by the various damping factors of different types of windscreen. This is achieved in that the circuit arrangement of the windscreen wiping system has a control stage provided with a basic setting value, which is substantially determined by the optoelectronic apparatus when the screen is optimally clean and represents the quasi static conditions of the components provided for detecting the coating present on the screen, and in that the basic setting value is stored in a non-volatile memory of the circuit arrangement and is used as the starting value for all subsequent startups of the windscreen wiping system.
