An electronic gaming system includes an electronic gaming machine (EGM) and a stand coupled to the EGM. The EGM includes a cabinet that includes a cabinet base defining a notch therein. The stand includes a housing that defines an interior cavity and includes a housing cover. The cabinet is seated on the housing cover. The stand also includes a keeper bracket coupled to the housing cover. The keeper bracket is received within the notch to align the cabinet on the housing cover and restrain against tipping of the EGM relative to the stand.

An enclosure assembly for securely housing a bank notes acceptor (BNA) for use with an electronic gaming machine (EGM) is provided. The enclosure assembly includes a housing defining an interior for receiving the BNA. The housing includes an engagement bracket extending between a first end coupled to a side wall and a second, free end. The door assembly includes a door panel and a lock assembly. The lock assembly includes a lock frame including a side wall and a projection provided thereon, the projection extends from the side wall and towards the engagement bracket. The lock assembly further includes a prong latch coupled to the lock frame that is engageable with the engagement bracket to lock the door assembly. The engagement bracket is resiliently flexible and is configured to move into contact with the projection to enhance a structural integrity of the enclosure assembly.

An overhead display assembly includes a display monitor coupled to a monitor tray. The monitor tray is positionable in an operational position and a maintenance position. A support stanchion has an anchoring part, a coupling part, and a stanchion body extending from the anchoring part to the coupling part. The anchoring part is coupleable to a fixed vertical or horizontal supporting structure. A counter-balanced hinging mechanism has one or more pivots upon which monitor tray is configured to rotate with respect to said support stanchion. A force producing device is configured to apply a variable amount of force to the monitor tray based upon a position of the display monitor, the variable amount of force being at least a force sufficient to maintain the monitor tray stationary in an intermediate position between the operational position and the maintenance position.

Method and system for display assembly hinging

A gaming machine island includes a plurality of electronic gaming machines and one or more pedestals upon which the gaming machines are positioned and supported. A support stanchion supports one or more components associated with the gaming machines. The support stanchion has a first anchor end, a second coupling end, and a stanchion body extending therebetween. The first anchor end is coupled to a supporting structure different from the one or more pedestals. A counter-balanced hinging mechanism is coupled to the second coupling end of the support stanchion and at least one monitor frame. The counter-balanced hinging mechanism has first and second arm linkage assemblies that permit the monitor frame to pivot. At least one bias member is coupled to the first and second arm linkage assembly. The at least one bias member applies a variable amount of force to maintain the monitor frame stationary in intermediate positions.

A method of positioning a monitor frame using a counter-balanced hinging mechanism coupled to the monitor frame and seating a display monitor within the monitor frame includes rotating the monitor frame into an approximately horizontal orientation using the counter-balanced hinging mechanism, where the counter-balanced hinging mechanism may include at least one arm linkage assembly, and at least one bias member coupled to the at least one arm linkage assembly. The method also includes aligning an outer edge of the display monitor with an inner surface of the monitor frame, translating the display monitor to a seated position within the monitor frame, and rotating the monitor frame into an approximately vertical orientation using the counter-balanced hinging mechanism.

A system for supporting a plurality of display monitors includes a support stanchion having a first anchor end, a second coupling end, and a stanchion body extending therebetween. The system also includes at least one counter-balanced hinging mechanism coupled to the second coupling end of the support stanchion and at least one monitor frame. The counter-balanced hinging mechanism includes at least one arm linkage assembly configured to permit the at least one monitor frame to pivot with respect to the support stanchion, and at least one bias member coupled to the at least one arm linkage assembly. The at least one bias member is configured to apply a variable amount of force to maintain the at least one monitor frame stationary in any of a plurality of intermediate positions between an approximately vertical operational position and an approximately horizontal maintenance position.

A method and system for an overhead display assembly for an electronic machine are provided. The overhead display assembly includes a display monitor supported in a monitor frame translatable between an operational position and a maintenance and installation position angularly displaced from the operational position by a predetermined angle. The overhead display assembly also includes a support stanchion including a first anchor end, a second coupling end, and a stanchion body extending therebetween, the first anchor end configured to couple to a supporting structure. The overhead display assembly further includes a counter-balanced hinging mechanism coupled to and between the second coupling end and the monitor frame. The counter-balanced hinging mechanism includes one or more pivot bars configured to permit the monitor frame to pivot with respect to the support stanchion and a bias member coupled to the one or more pivot bars, the bias member configured to apply a variable amount of force to the one or more pivot bars, the variable amount of force maintains the monitor frame stationary in an intermittent position between the operational position and the maintenance and installation position.

A lighting apparatus for a gaming machine cabinet comprising: a spot light source which emits light relative to a central emission axis; and a translucent diffuser spaced from the spot light source, the diffuser comprising an inner portion located so as to intercept light emitted along the emission axis and an outer portion spaced from the emission axis, the inner and outer portions arranged such that the diffuser prevents transmission of more light in the region of the inner portion than in the region of the outer portion.
