A lower-limb massage machine is provided with a stand having an upper stand member disposed on an upper portion of a lower stand member to be placed on a floor surface, and a casing. The casing has a pair of right and left recess portions, on its face side, extending in a front-and-rear direction so that lower limbs are fitted in the recess portions, respectively. The casing is supported rotatably around an axis extending in a right-and-left direction with respect to the upper stand member, a massage mechanism incorporated in the casing for massaging the lower limbs. Also provided is an attitude holding mechanism for holding the casing at an attitude with respect to the upper stand member to which the casing is rotated. Accordingly, the attitude and height of the casing of the lower-limb massage machine can easily adjusted.

A footrest apparatus according to the present invention enables change of the position of a footrest and fixation of the same both in a position in which a surface for massaging lower limbs is oriented frontward and a position in which a lower limb resting surface is oriented frontward. The footrest apparatus according to the invention includes a pair of left and right supporting members () frontwardly projecting from the front portion of a chair (); a footrest () supported between the supporting members () so as to be rotatable about a lateral axis () and provided with a lower limb massaging portion () on one surface and a lower limb resting surface () on the other surface on which the lower limbs () can be rested; and a position switching mechanism () provided between the supporting member () and the footrest () for changing the position of the footrest () between a massaging position in which the lower limb massaging portion () is oriented frontward and a resting position in which the lower limb resting surface () is oriented frontward.

A massaging mechanism includes a first rotary shaft supported in a right-and-left direction right and left swing arms relatively rotatably mounted on the first rotary shaft, massaging heads each secured to an upper and a lower end portion of each of the swing arms, a bracing member engaged with each of the swing arms to restrain the swing arm from rotating in connection with rotation of the first rotary shaft, a first operating mechanism for swinging the swing arms in opposite directions in the right-and-left direction to each other so that a right and left pair of massaging heads respectively secured to the upper end portions move toward each other while the massaging heads respectively secured to the lower end portions of the swing arms are moved away from each other in the right-and-left direction, and vice versa, by the rotation of the first rotary shaft.

A lower leg massager is constructed in such a manner that the lower leg can be massaged over a wide range without arranging a plurality of massaging members along the length thereof. Right and left massaging members formed of elongated boards are arranged in an opposed manner so a lower leg can be fit therebetween. A driving mechanism is provided for moving the massaging members toward and away from each other so that the longitudinal directions thereof are inclined in opposite directions with respect to each other, and changing the extent of longitudinal inclination when moving the massaging members toward and away from each other.

A roller massaging mechanism of a type having a pair of right and left massaging rollers mounted on an intermediate portion of a rotary shaft in a slanted fashion relative to an axis of the rotary shaft, and includes a switching member for selectively switching the position of the pair of right and left massaging rollers into one of a kneading position where the pair of massaging rollers are slanted opposite to each other and a non-kneading position where the massaging rollers are slanted parallel with each other. A massaging device is so arranged to allow a massaging member thereof to simultaneously perform a vibrating action and a kneading action on the same body part to be massaged, and not to require any increase in the size thereof. The present invention provides a vibrator-type massaging device including a casing and a vibrating plate provided on top of the casing so as to vibrate at a high speed. A massaging member is provided on the vibrating plate and includes a top surface serving as a contact surface for contact with a human body. A kneading means having a pair of kneading balls which swing in the same plane as that of the contact surface of the massaging member is provided inside the casing so as to knead a human body.

A tapping-type massaging mechanism includes a drive motor; a support plate secured to the drive motor so as to extend radially outwardly of the motor; a crank pin eccentrically secured to an output shaft of the drive motor; an elastically deformable connecting member secured to the support plate at one end thereof so as to extend in the same direction as the output shaft; a vibrating plate secured to the other end of the connecting member so as to be movable relative to and in parallel with the support plate, the vibrating plate receiving therethrough the crank pin for rotation; and a tap-massaging member mounted on an end of the vibrating plate so as to orient toward a direction orthogonal to the output shaft.

Roller massaging device

A massage device having kneading balls includes a vibrating device provided between each of the kneading balls and a connecting member for vibrating the ball. The connecting member is a spring, such as a coiled spring, which is elastically deformable in a direction perpendicular to its axis. The connecting member is attached to a rotary plate rotatable inside a housing, eccentrically with respect to the rotary plate and rotatable relative thereto. The housing is further provided therein with a rotation control device for preventing the connecting member from rotating about its own axis with the rotation of the rotary plate. This prevents the vibrating device on the connecting member and the kneading ball from rotating with the rotation of the rotary plate.
