Examples disclosed herein obtain first image data and the second image data for a foveated image frame to be displayed on a display, the first image data to have a first resolution and the second image data to have a second resolution lower than the first resolution. Disclosed examples also up-sample the second image data based on first metadata to generate up-sampled second image data, the up-sampled second image data to have the first resolution, and combine the first image data and the up-sampled second image data based on second metadata. Disclosed examples further perform, based on third metadata, a combination of at least two different filter operations on an overlap region including a portion of the first image data and a portion of the up-sampled second image data to generate the foveated image frame, the third metadata to specify a width in pixels of the overlap region.

Foveated image rendering for head-mounted display devices

In an embodiment, a host controller includes a clock control circuit to cause the host controller to communicate a clock signal on a clock line of an interconnect, the clock control circuit to receive an indication that a first device is to send information to the host controller and to dynamically release control of the clock line of the interconnect to enable the first device to drive a second clock signal onto the clock line of the interconnect for communication with the information. Method, apparatus and system for dynamic control of clock signaling on a bus

An example includes detecting receiving a bus turn-around (BTA) sequence after detecting a voltage level; sending a BTA acknowledgement in response to the BTA sequence; and sending a configuration command to a peripheral device after the interface is initialized based on the BTA acknowledgement.

An example method for initializing an interface includes driving a low voltage signal on data lanes and clock lanes. The method further includes performing a reset sequence and an initialization of a link configuration register. The method also includes driving a high voltage signal to the clock lanes and the data lanes. The method further includes driving a bus turn-around (BTA) sequence on the data lanes. The method also includes detecting that the BTA is acknowledged by a host controller.

Technology for a display device is described. The display device can include one or more display screens operable to show at least two display panels. The display device can include a controller. The controller can send a request for frame data from each of the at least two display panels to a source device. The controller can receive, from the source device, a same frame indication for each of the at least two display panels. The controller can provide frame data received from the source device based on the same frame indication to the at least two display panels. The same frame indication can cause the at least two display panels to synchronously display frame data received from the source device.

Display panel synchronization for a display device

Example methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture (e.g., non-transitory physical storage media) to implement foveated image rendering for head-mounted displays device are disclosed herein. Example head-mounted display devices disclosed herein include a frame buffer to store first and second image data for an image frame, the first image data having a first resolution and the second image data having a second resolution lower than the first resolution, the first image data and the second image data obtained from a host device via a data interface. Disclosed example head-mounted display devices also include a device controller to up-sample the second image data based on first metadata from the host device to generate up-sampled second image data having the first resolution, and combine the first image data and the up-sampled second image data based on second metadata from the host device to render a foveated image frame on a display.

In one embodiment, a processor includes at least one core and at least one graphics processor. The processor includes: a display host controller to control a display device coupled to the processor; a touch host controller to control a touch device coupled to the processor; a traffic controller to multiplex first information from the display host controller and second information from the touch host controller; and a physical unit circuit to communicate the first information and the second information via a plurality of first data lanes of an interconnect to couple to at least one device controller, a clock signal via a clock lane of the interconnect, and receive touch data from the at least one device controller via a second data lane of the interconnect. System, apparatus and method for communicating touch data

Embodiments include apparatuses, methods, and systems including a selector. A selection signal may be provided to the selector to select a first synchronization signal as a control signal when the first synchronization signal is available, otherwise a second first synchronization signal as the control signal. The first or the second synchronization signal may synchronize a first or second display content received by a first or second display device with a first or a second display refresh rate, respectively. The control signal may be provided to a controller to control the second display content received by the second display device. Other embodiments may also be described and claimed.

In on embodiment, the display controller comprises a spread spectrum clock (SSC) modulator having a first input coupled to receive a non-SSC modulated clock and operable to generate a SSC modulated clock in response to the non-SSC modulated clock, a video data transfer portion coupled to receive the SSC modulated clock and operable to output data for display in response to the SSC modulated clock, and a second portion coupled to receive the non-SSC modulated clock.

Methods and apparatus for synchronizing embedded display panels of mobile devices via programmable synchronization links are disclosed. An example mobile device includes a first embedded display panel, a second embedded display panel, a programmable synchronization link, a configuration manager, and a synchronization manager. The programmable synchronization link is operatively coupled to the first and second embedded display panels. The configuration manager is to configure the first embedded display panel as a slave panel, and to configure the second embedded display panel as a master panel. The synchronization manager is to synchronize the slave panel to the master panel via the programmable synchronization link.

Methods and apparatus for synchronizing embedded display panels of mobile devices via programmable synchronization links

Methods and apparatus to implement aging compensation for emissive displays with subpixel rendering are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a converter to convert red-green-blue (RGB) data to subpixel rendering (SPR) data. The RGB data is indicative of an image to be rendered on an emissive display screen. The apparatus includes a compensator to apply pixel correction values to the SPR data to generate corrected SPR data to compensate for pixel degradation. The apparatus further includes a usage accumulator to track pixel usage based on the corrected SPR data. The apparatus also includes a correction calculator to calculate the pixel correction values based on the pixel usage.

Methods and apparatus to implement aging compensation for emissive displays with subpixel rendering

An example apparatus for powering a mobile device display includes a first voltage regulator electronically to be electronically coupled to a display backlight and to a power rail. The power rail is coupled to a power source to provide a first voltage within a first range of voltages. The first voltage regulator is to provide a second voltage within a second range of voltages to the display backlight. The apparatus also includes a second voltage regulator to be electronically coupled to display electronics of the mobile device display and the power rail. The second voltage regulator is to provide a third voltage within a third range of voltages to the display electronics. The first range of voltages, the second range of voltages, and the third range of voltages, are different voltages.

Powering mobile device displays using different voltage ranges

A method and apparatus for generating touch blob angle orientation in a touch device are described. In one embodiment, the apparatus comprises a touch processing unit operable to analyze sensor data generated from touch inputs on a touchscreen and generate touch blob information for each detected touch blob; and a filter coupled to the touch processing unit operable to filter blob orientation information from a filter output in response to detection of a finger lifting event.
