In an outboard engine including a throttle body that feeds combustion air that is taken in from an outside air introduction port, into an engine body, an intake duct that guides the combustion air from the outside air introduction port, and an on-off valve disposed partway in the intake duct, a plurality of paths are provided in the intake duct, a path of the intake duct is made switchable to a long path including a drainage effect to water entering the intake duct and a short path that does not include the drainage effect by the on-off valve, and the long path is selected at a time of an engine being stopped or a time of an operation state where the outboard engine is expected to be covered with water.

Outboard engine

An outboard motor includes an engine cover, a throttle body, and a silencing chamber. The engine cover covers an engine and is provided with a combustion air intake port. The throttle body is connected to the engine and is configured to take in combustion air from the combustion air intake port. The silencing chamber is provided above the engine and is placed in an intake passage that guides the combustion air to the throttle body. At least one of a hole member including a plurality of holes with respective predetermined depths, and a plurality of suction pipes elongated in a front-rear direction of the outboard motor, is disposed in a position communicating with the silencing chamber.

Outboard motor

Disclosed is an control device of an outboard motor, including: a computation unit configured to set, as a starting point, a timing before a gearshift mechanism is shifted from forward to neutral after an accelerator opening level is fully closed in a case where an operator's manipulation is performed from forward to neutral, and compute a time-series change of an engine rotation speed as a simulated ship speed on the basis of the engine rotation speed detected by an engine rotation speed detector at the starting point; and a control unit configured to control an actuator such that, in a case where the operator's manipulation is performed from forward to reverse through neutral, the gearshift mechanism is maintained in the neutral position until the simulated ship speed estimated by the computation unit becomes a predetermined threshold value or lower, and is then shifted to reverse.

Control device of outboard motor

An engine for an outboard motor is provided with an engine body, an intake system configured to supply combustion air to the engine body, an exhaust passage formed by connecting the engine body and middle and lower units thereunder, a catalyst provided in the exhaust passage, and an air pump configured to supply secondary air to an upstream side of the catalyst. The intake system is arranged in a side portion of one side of the left or right side of the engine body, and the exhaust passage and the air pump are arranged in a side portion of the other side of the left or right side of the engine body.

Engine for outboard motor

An intake system is arranged in a side portion of one side of an engine body in a left-right direction, and the exhaust passage and the air pump are arranged in a side portion of the other side of the cylinder block and the cylinder head of the engine body in the left-right direction.

Disclosed is an outboard motor including an exhaust manifold having a first passage that is provided with a plurality of first openings connected to a plurality of exhaust ports and extends vertically, and a second passage that is arranged under the first passage and has a second opening provided in a lower end portion and connected to a third passage formed in the engine holder. The first and second passages of the exhaust manifold are formed integrally, and the exhaust manifold is formed separately from the cylinder head and the cylinder block and is detachably installed.

In an upper mount portion, a steering central axis related to a steering force of a steering handle and a vibration central axis related to a torque reaction force of an engine are configured to be shifted back and forth. A mount member is formed such that a spring constant related to the vibration central axis is smaller than a spring constant related to the steering central axis.

Mounting device for outboard motor

In an exhaust passage, an exhaust manifold connected to exhaust ports of each cylinder of an engine body and formed to extend vertically is arranged in a side portion of a cylinder head. A secondary air supply system has an intake silencer, a check valve configured to permit only a flow to the exhaust passage side, a secondary air supply control valve configured to control a flow rate of the secondary air, and a secondary air supply passage configured to connect those components to each other and the exhaust passage. The secondary air supply system is arranged in a side portion of a cylinder block placed between a crankcase of the engine body and an assembly of the exhaust manifold and the cylinder head.

An engine for an outboard motor is provided with an engine body, an intake system configured to supply combustion air to the engine body, an exhaust passage formed by connecting the engine body and the middle and lower units thereunder, a catalyst provided in the exhaust passage, and an air pump configured to supply secondary air to the upstream side of the catalyst. The air pump is driven by an electric motor.

Disclosed is an outboard motor including an exhaust manifold having a plurality of first openings connected to exhaust ports to form a first passage vertically extending, and an exhaust passage having a second passage extending upward along the exhaust manifold, a third passage that is connected to an upper end portion of the second passage and passes over the exhaust manifold, a fourth passage that is connected to the third passage, turns over to the downside, and then extends downward along the exhaust manifold, so that a lower end portion thereof communicates with a fifth passage provided in the engine holder, the second, third, and fourth passages being arranged in one side of the left-right direction of the cylinder block, wherein the exhaust passage is arranged in a swirling shape, and an exhaust gas cleaning catalyst is installed in a middle portion of the second passage.

An intake structure of an outboard motor supplying intake air to an internal combustion engine for the outboard motor has an engine cover covering the internal combustion engine for the outboard motor, an inner cover disposed on an outside of the engine cover, and a top cover covering the inner cover. The inner cover and the top cover form an intake duct supplying intake air to the internal combustion engine for the outboard motor.

Intake structure of outboard motor

There is provided a toe angle control system for outboard motors. A memory stores therein a toe angle data table in which a running state of a ship and a lifting force generated along with propulsion of a plurality of outboard motors which are mounted on a body of the ship are associated with each other for each toe angle of the outboard motors. A controller is configured to adjust a toe angle of the outboard motors based on the running state of the ship and the toe angle data table. The toe angle data table is adapted to be associated with a plurality of running states of the ship mounted with the outboard motors. The controller selects a toe angle of the outboard motors so as to minimize the lifting force depending on a speed of the ship and trim angles of the outboard motors.

Toe angle control system and toe angle control method for outboard motors

A shift control device of an outboard motor having an electrical shift device for switching a propulsion direction has a rotation switching unit electrically switching whether to drive the outboard motor for regular rotation or for counter rotation, and a rotation determination unit determining whether the outboard motor drives for regular rotation or for counter rotation. Desired performances can be obtained by the outboard motor for regular rotation and the outboard motor for counter rotation without complicating the operation even when the propulsion unit for regular rotation and the propulsion unit for counter rotation are made as a common unit.

Shift control device of outboard motor, shift control method of outboard motor and program

There is provided an electric outboard motor. An upper unit is provided to be rotatable in a horizontal direction about a swivel unit. A lower unit is provided below the upper unit and configured to function as a rudder. The upper unit comprises an electric motor supported by a rear side of the swivel unit via a mount unit. The upper unit or lower unit has a gear deceleration device configured to couple an output shaft of the electric motor and a drive shaft extending in an upward and downward direction to each other. The drive shaft is coupled to the gear deceleration device in front of the output shaft of the electric motor and configured to transmit an output of the electric motor to a propeller provided in the lower unit.

Electric outboard motor

An outboard motor having an outboard motor body generating a thrust by rotating a propeller that is driven by an engine mounted to the outboard motor and an attachment device for attaching the outboard motor body to a hull. The outboard motor includes a mount device having an upper mount and a lower mount arranged between the outboard motor body and the attachment device for attaching the outboard motor body to the hull and supports an upper portion and a lower portion of the outboard motor body, respectively. The mount device also includes an anti-vibration unit and a displacement restriction unit. The lateral displacement restricting mount section and a member opposing the lateral displacement restricting mount section abut against each other with the abutment surfaces inclined with respect to a longitudinal direction of the outboard motor body.
