A a cartridge type delivery valve assembly in which a valve seat surface and a valve are integrated in order to assure good seating characteristics in the delivery valve. The delivery valve assembly is formed by fixing together a valve holder provided with delivery holes, a roll valve that is mounted along the internal surface of the valve holder to freely open and close the delivery holes and a valve stopper that fixes the roll valve onto the valve holder and regulates the lift quantity of the roll valve, in an integrated manner using coupling members and the delivery valve assembly thus achieved is mounted in a valve insertion space.

Delivery valve assembly for compressor

In a scroll type compressor, a simple structure provides oil intake assistance to ensure that lubricating oil in an oil space is induced into a spiral groove in correspondence to the rotation rate of a drive shaft. The drive shaft is provided with an inclined spiral groove which is formed in the external circumferential surface of the drive shaft. The drive shaft slides in contact with a main bearing. A leading end of the spiral groove, in the direction of the rotation of the drive shaft, communicates with the oil space and a trailing end of the spiral groove opens into the lubricating oil reservoir. The lubricating oil is supplied to the area where the drive shaft slides in contact with the main bearing by the spiral groove. Also, upon rotation of the drive shaft, intake of lubricating oil into the spiral groove is assisted when the suction force is reduced due to a high rotation rate.

Scroll type compressor

A scroll type compressor including a drive shaft which is provided with a spiral groove formed in an external circumferential surface of the drive shaft. The spiral groove communicates diagonally between the oil space and the upper portion of the main bearing to ensure sufficient lubrication and sealing in the area where the drive shaft slide in contact with the main bearing. A seal bearing portion is positioned between the oil space and the low pressure space to isolate the oil space from the low pressure orbiting space, achieving an improvement in lubrication. The seal bearing portion is constituted with a seal washer, a seal bearing and a seal member, and, furthermore, with seal reinforcing material, to especially improve the seal between the oil space and the oscillation space.

Scroll type compressor having a seal bearing unit

A scroll compressor reduces the load applied to the thrust bearing, to prevent a thrust bearing from seizing and to improve the service life of the thrust bearing. It comprises an electric motor that is provided within a high pressure space inside a sealed case with a stator fixed within the sealed case and a rotor fixed to a drive shaft. An oscillating shaft is decentered on and extends from the drive shaft. An oscillating scroll member has an insertion hole into which the oscillating shaft is inserted. A fixed scroll member forms a compression space by fitting into the oscillating scroll member, and a block secures the fixed scroll member inside the sealed case and clamps the oscillating scroll member so that it can oscillate freely between the block and the fixed scroll member. The thrust bearing is provided between the drive shaft and the block to hold the lower end of the drive shaft so that it can rotate freely. The internal diameter of the thrust bearing is approximately equal to the external diameter of the oscillating shaft. As a result, the sliding contact surface at the thrust bearing can be reduced to an absolute minimum so that friction at the thrust bearing is reduced, thereby achieving the aforementioned objectives of reducing the load applied to the thrust bearing, preventing the thrust bearing from seizing and improving the service life of the thrust bearing.

Scroll type compressor having a thrust bearing for the drive shaft

In order to provide a simple structure to achieve sufficient lubrication and sealing in the various areas of a scroll compressor where sliding contact occurs, a spiral groove that communicates between a high-pressure side space and an area at an upper portion of a main bearing is formed on the external circumferential surface of the drive shaft where it comes in contact with and slides against the main bearing. A seal bearing is provided in a drive shaft-receiving block between the high-pressure side space and a low pressure side space to seal off the high-pressure side space from the low pressure side space. An oil supply hole is provided that communicates between the high-pressure side space and an oscillation space which is formed by an oscillating scroll member and an oscillating shaft. With this, a first oil passage that lubricates the main bearing and a second oil passage that lubricates an oscillating shaft-insertion hole are formed. A seal washer, the surface of which is polished to a specific roughness, is provided between the seal bearing and the drive shaft and, in addition, an elastic member is provided between the seal bearing and the block.

Scroll type compressor having an oil seal bearing for the drive shaft

To reduce a load applied to the thrust bearing, to prevent the thrust bearing from seizing and to improve the service life of the thrust bearing, the thrust bearing is provided between a drive shaft and a block to seal a high-pressure side space from a low-pressure side space. By providing an oil supply through hole, one end of which opens into high-pressure side space and the other end of which opens into a space formed by inserting the shaft into the insertion hole, high-pressure lubricating oil can be supplied to the space. The constric within the shaft with the effect of the constriction clearance is formed between the aforementioned oscillating shaft and the insertion hole, and a pressure differential between the two ends of the drive shaft is eliminated. Furthermore, by forming a circular oil groove at a sliding surface where the aforementioned thrust bearing and the drive shaft are in contact with each other and communicating channels that communicate between the circular oil groove and an external circumferential area of the aforementioned thrust bearing, the high-pressure lubricating oil is induced to the circular oil groove and the communicating channels to apply an upward force to the drive shaft.

Thrust bearing arrangement for a drive shaft of a scroll compressor

A variable capacity vane compressor includes a bearing arrangement having a radial bearing radially supporting a drive shaft of the compressor, and a thrust bearing rotatably supporting a capacity control element. The bearing arrangement comprises an annular member fixed in a through hole formed through a side block of the compressor, through which the drive shaft extends. The annular member has an inner peripheral surface in which the radial and thrust bearings are received. The annular member is formed of a material having a coefficient of thermal expansion substantially equal to that of a material forming the radial bearing. The thrust bearing has a first race disposed on a side thereof close to a rotor of the compressor, and a second race disposed on a side remote from the rotor. The first race is force-fitted in a through hole formed through the capacity control element and slidably fitted in the inner peripheral surface of the annular member. The first and second races have respective inner peripheral surfaces thereof spaced from an outer peripheral surface of the drive shaft.

Variable capacity vane compressor having an improved bearing arrangement

A variable capacity compressor comprises a control element for determining the timing of start of compression of refrigerant gas. Control pressure which acts on the control element to displace same between the minimum capacity position and the maximum capacity position is created in a high-pressure chamber by introducing discharge pressure thereinto. An electromagnetic valve opens and closes a passageway which commincates between the high-pressure chamber and a suction chamber by a pulse signal supplied from an ECU to control an amount of refrigerant gas leaking from the former into the latter to thereby control the level of the control pressure. The ECU makes the width of at least a first pulse or at least a first pulse base of the pulse signal wider than that of the following pulses or pulse bases, when the control element should start to be displaced between the minimum capacity position and the maximum capacity position. The control pressure is introduced to act on both ends of a valve body of the electromagnetic valve, whereby it is made possible to open the valve by a small driving force of an electromagnetic actuator thereof.

A variable capacity vane compressor has a thrust bearing received in an annular recess formed in the inner peripheral surface of a through hole of a side block through which a drive shaft extends. The thrust bearing axially supports a capacity control element for controlling timing of start of compression of refrigerant gas. An annular member is force-fitted in the annular recess to urge one race of the thrust bearing against the side block. Another race of the thrust bearing is slidably fitted in the inner peripheral surface of the annular member. This race is force-fitted in a hole of the capacity control element through which the drive shaft extends. The inner peripheral surfaces of the two races are spaced from the outer peripheral surface of the drive shaft.

A variable capacity vane compressor has a control element for determining timing of start of compression of a refrigerant gas. In a high-pressure chamber there prevails control pressure which acts on the control element for urging same toward a maximum capacity position thereof. The control pressure is created by introducing the refrigerant gas from a discharging space within which discharge pressure prevails into the high-pressure chamber via a high pressure-introducing passageway. The high pressure-introducing passageway has a restriction hole for restricting flow of the refrigerant gas. An electromagnetic value opens and closes the restriction hole in response to an external control signal. The refrigerant gas is allowed to constantly leak from the high-pressure chamber into a suction chamber via a leak passage, the leak passage having a cross-sectional area smaller than that of the restriction hole.

A variable capacity vane compressor has a first oil sump formed in a bottom of a discharge pressure chamber arranged at one side of a cylinder close to one side block, and a second oil sump formed in a bottom of a suction chamber arranged at another side of the cylinder close to the other side block. An oil passageway communicates between the first oil sump and the second oil sump. A control element is arranged in the other side block for rotation about its own axis in opposite directions to thereby vary the compression starting timing. A pressure chamber acts to apply control pressure created from discharge pressure from the cylinder to the control element for causing rotation of the control element. A seal member is fitted on the control element such that part of the seal member is located in the pressure chamber. A high pressure-introducing passageway is formed in the other side block and communicates with the second oil sump. The discharge pressure from the cylinder is introduced into the pressure chamber through the discharge pressure chamber, the first oil sump, the second oil sump, and the high pressure-introducing passageway.

A variable capacity vane compressor has a control element rotatable in response to the difference between suction pressure and control pressure for varying the compression starting timing and hence the capacity. A communication passage extends between the suction chamber and a high pressure chamber in which the control pressure is created. A spool valve opens and closes the communicating passage. An electromagnetic actuator generates an electromagnetic force to cause the spool valve to open the communication passage when energized. A control unit is arranged outside of the compressor and supplies the actuator with an external control signal for energizing the actuator.

A vane compressor has at least one compression space defined between a rotor and a cylinder. A shaft seal and a bearing are fitted on a driving shaft and disposed adjacent to each other. A lubricating oil supply device supplies compression medium to the shaft seal and the bearing, through at least one passage extending between the at least one compression space and the shaft seal and the bearing. The at least one passage has an open end opening into the at least one compression space at a predetermined circumferential location at which pressure within the at least one compression space changes from a negative value into a positive value when each of the vanes passes the predetermined circumferential location, whereby lubrication and cooling of the shaft seal and the bearing is effected in an efficient manner.

A variable capacity vane compressor in which one end face of a side block facing the rotor is formed therein with an annular recess in a bottom of which is formed a second recess. A control element rotatably received in the annular recess for varying the timing of commencement of the compressor. The control element cooperates with the second recess to define therebetween a pressure working space. The control element has a pressure-receiving protuberance slidably fitted in the pressure working space to divide same into a first pressure chamber and a second pressure chamber. A communication passage extends between the first pressure chamber and a low pressure zone. A control valve device is arranged in the communication passage for opening and closing the communication passage in response to suction pressure. A sealing device is provided in the bottom of the annular recess and engages portions of the control element other than the pressure-receiving protuberance. The high pressure-introducing passage has a cross-sectional area larger than the cross-sectional area of the restriction passage. The inner wall of the pressure working space and the pressure-receiving portion defines therebetween a clearance smaller than the cross-sectional area of the restriction passage.

A vane compressor in which a cylinder block, front and rear side blocks, a rotor, and vanes are formed of an aluminum-based alloy, and at least one of the component parts are coated with Ni electroless composite plating layers having polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) dispersed therein. The vane compressor further includes a capacity-controlling plate interposed between the rear side block and the rotor, which is formed of the aluminum-based alloy and coated with the Ni electroless composite plating layer having PTFE dispersed therein.
