In a cover apparatus of a machine tool, a slide cover and turning covers are connected to a motor via an up-down movement mechanism and a cam drive portion. During operation of the motor, the slide cover and the turning covers are raised from a lowermost position to an uppermost position, and are held at the uppermost position, and then are lowered from the uppermost position to the lowermost position. The turning covers are connected to the motor also via a pivoting mechanism and an intermittent drive unit. During operation of the motor, the turning covers are turned while being held at the uppermost position. The apparatus thus prevents deviations of the up-down movement timing of the slide cover 47 and the up-down movement timing of the turning covers, thereby improving reliability.

Cover apparatus of machine tool

In a pallet changer apparatus, a pallet changing arm is connected to a motor via a raising/lowering mechanism and an intermittent drive unit. During operation of the motor, the pallet changing arm is raised from a lowermost position to an uppermost position, and is held at the uppermost position, and then is lowered from the uppermost position to the lowermost position. The pallet changing arm is also connected to the motor via a turning mechanism and a second cam drive portion. During operation of the motor, the pallet changing arm is turned while being held at the uppermost position. The pallet changing arm is moved up and down and turned by using the single motor provided above a table. The table below the pallet changing arm is reduced in size so as to allow an operator to perform operations without being impeded by the table. The structure also eliminates the need to determine the drive time of a plurality of drive force sources based on output signals of sensors, thereby decreasing the possibility of a malfunction and improving reliability.

Pallet changer apparatus

A machine tool includes a tool magazine for accommodating a plurality of tools, the tool magazine including a tool ejecting section, feeding means for selectively feeding one of the tools accommodated in the tool magazine to the tool ejecting section of the tool magazine, and feed control means for controlling the feeding means so that a feeding speed of the feeding means is set on the basis of a type of a machining operation executed during feed of the tool.

A tool clamp mechanism includes a hollow spindle in which a tool can be inserted, the spindle having at least one slot which is axially elongated, a draw bar movably provided in the spindle, and a spindle head which rotatably supports the spindle. A drive ring is provided around the spindle. The drive ring and the draw bar are connected by a connecting pin which penetrates the drive ring and the draw bar through the slot of the spindle. A pusher lever is provided to the spindle head, which urges the drive ring so that the draw bar releases the tool. The drive ring has a contact surface which the pusher lever abuts. The contact surface is positioned ahead of the connecting pin in a pushing direction of the pusher lever.

A machine tool equipped with an automatic tool changing device, including a tool support having a clamping mechanism for holding a cutting tool, a tool transfer device having a tool gripper for transferring the tool to and from the tool support at a tool change position, and a device for moving the tool support and the tool transfer device in a direction perpendicular to the axis of the tool held on the tool support, the tool changing device including a mechanism for converting a first relative movement of the gripper and the tool support toward each other, into a movement of the clamping mechanism for unclamping the tool from the tool support, and converting a second relative movement of the gripper and the tool support away from each other, into a movement of the clamping mechanism for clamping the tool to the tool support, wherein the gripper has a pair of jaws shaped for engagement with the tool held on the tool support before the tool is unclamped, and for permitting completion of the first relative movement at the tool change position after the tool is unclamped.

In a pressure developing device, employed in an image recording unit, including a pair of pressure developing rollers for pressurizing a material on which a visible image is to be developed through elastic springs, provided are backup rollers arranged to be brought into contact with each of the pair of pressure developing rollers. Thus, a pressure force generated between the pair of pressure developing rollers are uniformly applied to the material along a direction which the pair of pressure developing rollers are extended. Further, a pressure force, i.e., a length of each of the elastic springs is arranged to be adjusted from the outside of the pressure developing device with a simple operation by means of a screw and so forth.
