A switching apparatus includes a base, a housing, a main switch for mechanically disconnecting a power supply circuit and an interlock switch for electrically disconnecting the power supply circuit. The lever causes a wall of the housing to be slid in a depth direction of an annular groove of the base in accordance with a rotation of the lever. The present invention is a polymer-incarcerated Lewis acid metal catalyst in which a Lewis acid metal is incarcerated in a crosslinked polymer and the crosslinked polymer is crosslinked using the crosslinking groups contained in a crosslinkable polymer. The polymer incarcerated Lewis acid metal catalyst is characterized by the crosslinkable polymer containing at least one type of monomer unit containing hydrophobic substituents and hydrophilic substituents containing crosslinking groups, and the hydrophobic substituents contain aromatic substituents. This crosslinkable polymer preferably comprises at least one type of monomer unit containing hydrophobic substituents and hydrophilic substituents containing crosslinking groups and a monomer unit containing hydrophobic substituents. This catalyst can be obtained by subjecting a polymer micelle incarcerated Lewis acid metal obtained by mixing an organic solution containing a crosslinkable polymer and a Lewis acid metal with a bad solvent to a crosslinking reaction. This catalyst is useful as a catalyst in aldol reactions, cyanolation reactions, allylation reactions, Michael reactions, Mannich reactions, Diels Alder reactions and Friedel Crafts reactions.

Each of the local registersrequests retransmission of any HDLC frames which are incorrectly received. An interface between a data terminal and a digital communications link implements protocols and frame formats designed to reduce delays in a data communication with a remote terminal. The interface overcomes the need to send or receive an HDLC SABME or UA control signal for establishing an asynchronous balanced mode, and allows data to be sent over the digital communications link as soon as the communication parameters are established. In a non-ARQ (error correction) mode, the interface sends control signals and data over the communications link in frames subdivided into many small subframes of fixed length, each subframe having a length code indicating an amount of valid information but without CRC, address or control information.
