This curtain-type airbag apparatus is provided with: an airbag which is arranged along a top edge of a vehicle body and develops in a curtain-shape manner along an inside of a window; and an inner cover which covers a vehicle interior side of the airbag. The inner cover is supported by the vehicle body via a hinge member having a reversed U-shape.

Curtain-type airbag apparatus and airbag module

An airbag apparatus includes a back-side cover provided at a roof side rail which is provided on a side of a roof of a vehicle and extends in a front-back direction of the vehicle, wherein the back-side cover is arranged on a side of the roof side rail, which faces an interior of the vehicle; an interior-side cover for covering a side of the back-side cover, which faces the interior; and an airbag contained in a case formed by the back-side cover and the interior-side cover. An easily-bending portion is formed in the middle of the back-side cover along vertical directions thereof, and the easily-bending portion bends when receiving a pushing pressure from the airbag which is deploying, and the airbag deploys toward the interior through a space between the back-side cover and the interior-side cover which open in accordance with the bending of the easily-bending portion.

An airbag apparatus equipped with an airbag, a garnish, a hinge, a protector and a bracket fixed to a vehicle body. An upper side of the garnish is supported by the bracket via the hinge. An engaging part protruding from the lower part of a garnish main part is engaged with an engagement receiving part disposed at the protector. Normally, the engaging part is engaged with the engagement receiving part, thereby retaining the shape of the garnish. On expansion of the airbag, the airbag presses the engaging part, by which the engaging part is disengaged from the engagement receiving part, and the garnish is opened smoothly. The airbag can be covered with the garnish, thereby allowing the garnish to move smoothly on expansion of the airbag.

An assist grip includes: a grip member to be gripped by a passenger, the grip member configured to be capable of being pulled out from a retraction position to a grip position; a base member which is fixed to the vehicle and which includes a rotation shaft; a rotation arm pivotally supported so as to be rotatable about the rotation shaft from the retraction position to a pull-out position; retraction biasing element configured to always bias the rotation arm in a retraction direction; and a holding member configured to hold the rotation arm in the pull-out position against a biasing force of the retraction biasing element when the rotation arm is caused to rotate to the pull-out position. In the assist grip, the grip member is rotatably jointed to the rotation arm, and the grip member is provided with a release dog formed therein, the release dog configured to release the rotation arm from being held by the holding member as the grip member is rotated.
