A medical apparatus according to the present invention is a medical apparatus used in a state in which the medical apparatus is led into a body and fixed. The medical apparatus includes: a fixing section that fixes the medical apparatus on a body wall in the body; an image pickup section that picks up an image of a subject in the body and is provided pivotably around a first axis; and a holding section that includes the fixing section and holds the image pickup section pivotably around a second axis different from the first axis. Therefore, the medical apparatus can change a photographing range and a visual field direction as desired to photograph the subject by performing magnified observation and photographing the subject from different directions without using a zoom function in the state in which the medical apparatus is fixed in a limited space in the body.

A medical apparatus according to the present invention includes: an image pickup section including an observation window, the image pickup section being led into a body; a holding section that holds the image pickup section inside the body; a covering section that is connected to the holding section and covers the observation window to set the image pickup section in a non-photographable state; and a field-of-view control section that variably controls the covering of the observation window by the covering section and sets the image pickup section in a photographable state to allow the image pickup section to photograph a subject inside the body.

The electrical plug (102) includes an electrically insulative plate-like substrate and a plurality of first electrical contacts (118) formed in parallel on at least a side surface at one end of the substrate for a predetermined length from the one end. The plug further includes a shielding part (126) formed of an electrical conductor which substantially shields all of the substrate in a position nearer an end other than the one end having the electrical contacts (118). The electrical receptacle includes an electrically insulative receiving member (138) forming at least part of a recess in which the substrate of the plug is inserted. A plurality of second electrical contacts (142) are arranged in the receiving member (138) so as to contact the plurality of contacts in the plug whenever the substrate of the plug is inserted into the recess. The electrical receptacle (130) also includes a shielding electrical contact (140) formed to contact the shielding part of the electrical plug (102). The shielding electrical contact includes a liquid removing member (235) for removing liquid from the substrate during insertion into the recess. A heated air mechanism (271, 273) may be included to assist in liquid removal. The shielding may also serve the purpose of latching the plug and receptacle together and the plug may be of circular shape.

Television camera for an endoscope

A TV camera of this invention is adapted to be attached to an eyepiece section of, for example, an endoscope. The camera has a camera body with an eyepiece section. A camera mount is attached to the front portion of the inside of the casing so that the camera body is mounted on the eyepiece section of the endoscope. A beam splitter is arranged behind the camera mount to allow light which has been incident into the camera body to be split into two beams of one and the other beam. An image pickup element block includes an image pickup element for receiving the light conducted in the light incident direction and an optical system for projecting the beam travelling in the beam-incident direction onto the receiving surface of the image pickup element where an image is formed. The element block is mounted on the rear side of the beam splitter such that it is detachable from the camera body. A finder optical system is disposed parallel to the image pickup block to conduct the other beam to the eyepiece section of the camera body. It is possible to exchange an initially attached image pickup element with another image pickup element of a different size by replacing only the image pickup element block without replacing the finder optical system.

An imaging apparatus for an endoscope includes a TV camera which can be mounted on an eyepiece section of the endoscope, a VTR electrically connected thereto, and a manual switch formed on the TV camera to control the recording operation being performed by the VTR. When the TV camera is removed from the endoscope without the manual switch being turned, the recording operation of the VTR is stopped automatically by an ON/OFF switch.
