In a drive device, it is possible to reduce the size of a planetary gear mechanism, reduce the size and weight of the entire drive device, reduce the dimension between the tip ends of an output shaft for outputting rotational torque, the tip ends protruding in directions opposite to each other, and improve vehicle stability. External sun gears are coupled to an input shaft. Planetary carriers are coaxial with the input shaft, are adjacent to planetary gears in the axial direction thereof, and have external gears that rotate together with the planetary carriers. Ring gears respectively meshing with the planetary carriers are rotatably supported and rotate in mutually opposite directions by means of a differential mechanism. Intermediate gears and input-side gears are respectively fixed to intermediate shafts, the intermediate gears respectively meshing with the external gears. Output gears respectively meshing with the input-side gears are respectively fixed to output shafts.

Vehicular drive device, and electric vehicle

A drive unit a drive unit which can prevent an occurrence of an unintentional relative rotation between the right and the left wheels is provided. The drive unit comprises: a first motor connected to the first driveshaft and a second motor connected to the second drive shaft; a first torque transmitting route between the first motor and the first drive shaft; a second torque transmitting route between the second motor and the second drive shaft; a first rotary member arranged in the first torque transmitting route; a second rotary member arranged in the second torque transmitting route; and a restriction device that restricts a differential rotation between the first rotary member and the second rotary member.

Drive unit

A torque vectoring device has a downsized brake device for stopping drive wheels. The torque vectoring device comprises: a drive motor; a differential unit including a first planetary gear unit connected to a right drive wheel, and a second planetary gear unit connected to a left drive wheel; a differential motor that applies torque to any one of reaction elements; a torque reversing mechanism that transmits torque between the reaction elements while reversing; a rotary shaft connecting input elements; a rotary member that transmits torque of an output shaft of the drive motor; and a brake device that is contacted frictionally to the rotary member to establish a braking force.

Torque vectoring device

A drive unit having a downsized brake device for applying a braking force to a drive wheel is provided. The drive unit comprises: a first brake device that applies braking torque to a first rotary member situated closer to a first motor than a first speed reducing device in a first torque transmitting route between the first motor and a first drive shaft; and a second brake device that applies braking torque to a second rotary member situated closer to a second motor than a second speed reducing device in a second torque transmitting route between the second motor and a second drive shaft.

A motor drive unit having an inboard brake in which a lateral weight distribution is balanced is provided. In the motor drive unit, output torque of a drive motor is distributed to a right driveshaft and a left driveshaft via a drive gear a drive gear fitted onto an output shaft thereof. A brake rotor is also fitted onto the output shaft to be rotated integrally therewith. A brake device stops rotation of the drive gear by engaging the brake rotor with a brake stator that is allowed to rotate relatively to the brake rotor but restricted to rotate in a rotational direction of the brake rotor. The brake device is disposed on an opposite side of the drive motor across the drive gear.

Motor drive unit

The present invention provides a drive gear device that can easily be made compact and lightweight with a simple configuration, and that has little friction loss. Among externally toothed sun gear members () and ring gear members () of first and second planetary gear mechanisms (), one pair, which are first paired members (), are coupled to a coupling member () for equalizing the rotational speeds and rotational directions of the first paired members (), and the other pair, which are second paired members () are coupled to opposite rotation members () for making the second paired members () rotate in opposite directions. Rotational torque inputted to the coupling member () is distributed to the first planetary gear mechanism () and the second planetary gear mechanism (), and is outputted from planetary carriers ().

Drive gear unit

A control system for a drive unit configured to control driving force and braking force integrally is provided. The control system comprises: a sensor that detects vehicle conditions and an operation amount of an accelerator pedal etc.; a brake device that is contacted to an input element of a differential unit or a rotary member attached to the drive motor connected to the differential unit; and a controller. The controller is configured to calculate: a target travelling condition based on the vehicle condition and the operation amount detected by the sensor; target drive torques or target braking torques to be applied to the right wheel and left wheel based on the target travelling condition; output torques of a drive motor and a differential motor based on the target driving torques; and a braking force to be established by the brake device and an output torque of the differential motor based on the target braking torques.

Control system for drive unit

A power transmission unit that can multiply torque of a prime mover to be delivered to a differential gear unit is provided. Torque of a drive motor is delivered to planetary gear units through a driven gear. A first ring gear of the first planetary gear unit is meshed with a first supplemental gear, and a second ring gear of the second planetary gear unit is meshed with a second supplemental gear. The first supplemental gear and the second supplemental gear are connected to each other through a reaction gear unit to reverse the torque applied to the first ring gear to be transmitted to the second ring gear.

Power transmission unit

A planetary gear has at least two, first and second gears having different numbers of teeth. One of sun outer gears or sun inner gears having two fundamental axes has at least two, third and fourth gears capable of respectively meshing with the first and second gears of the planetary gear and of rotating relative to each other. The ratio of the numbers of the teeth of the first gear and the third gear is different from that of the second gear and the fourth gear. The other of sun outer or sun inner gears having one fundamental shaft coaxially integrally has at least two, fifth and sixth gears respectively meshing with the first and second gears.

Planetary gear device

A sun shaft, planetary shafts, and a ring shaft having respective axes of rotation in parallel with one another are provided. A helical sun gear, helical planetary gears, and a helical ring gear are provided on the sun shaft, the planetary shafts, and the ring shaft, respectively, and cooperatively constitute a first planetary gear mechanism. A screw sun gear, screw planetary gears, and a screw ring gear 44 are provided on the sun shaft, the planetary shafts, and the ring shaft, respectively, and cooperatively constitute a second planetary gear mechanism. Either of the gear ratio of the screw sun gear to the screw planetary gears and the gear ratio of the screw ring gear to the screw planetary gears differs from the gear ratio of the helical sun gear to the helical planetary gears and from the gear ratio of the helical ring gear to the helical planetary gears.

To construct an electric power steering device in which the assist power decreases only the torque required for rotating the steering wheel, while the control of the steering angle of the steered wheels follows basically the rotation of the steering wheel by the driver, except when the steering angle of the steered wheels is changed by an actuation of a vehicle behavior control device, by a tie rod connecting bar supported to make a linear motion, a rotary member rotatable around the tie rod connecting bar, a rotation conversion device for converting a rotation of a steering shaft to a rotation of the rotary member, a rotation/linear motion conversion device for converting a rotation of the rotary member to a linear motion of the tie rod connecting bar, and a power assist electric motor to give a rotational force to the rotary member.

A gear mechanism having extremely less backlash, capable of suppressing the rattling noise of gears, having a large loading resistance in the thrust direction, and capable of transmitting high torque by using the gears transmitting a force by the meshing of the gears with each other in place of the transmission of the force by friction. The gear mechanism is formed by disposing the plurality of spur gears in the meshed state with each other. The screw-like gears () and () are disposed on the same axis as the spur gears () and () in the meshed state with each other. The screw-like gears () and () adjacent to each other are formed in screw shapes having lead angles extending in the reverse directions to each other and equal in angle to each other. The spur gear () and the screw-like gear () are rotated integrally with each other to transmit its rotation to the spur gear () and the screw-like gear () adjacent to each other.

The present invention permits the status of reverse running of a vehicle to be detected accurately, because whether the vehicle is in reverse running or not is determined based on a relation between a direction of lateral acceleration and a direction of yaw rate.

Steering control apparatus

A steering control apparatus of the present invention comprises: a steering shaft on which a steering effort is exerted through a steering wheel; a steering angle detecting device for detecting a steering angle which is an angle of rotation of the steering shaft; a steering shaft driving device for rotating the steering shaft; a steering effort detecting device for detecting the steering effort exerted on the steering shaft through the steering wheel; a turning device for turning a steered wheel, based on the steering angle, the turning device being mechanically separated from the steering shaft; a turning reaction force detecting device for detecting a turning reaction force exerted on the steered wheel; and a turning amount detecting device for detecting a turning amount of the steered wheel; wherein the steering shaft driving device drives the steering shaft, taking account of the steering effort, the turning reaction force, the steering angle, and the turning amount. This can restrain undesired increase in the deviation between a force proportional to the steering effort, and the turning reaction force, appearing in the initial stage of steering, by utilizing the deviation between the target control amount based on the steering angle, and the turning amount. This can achieve driving of the steering shaft with appropriate steering reaction force.
