When a hold member rotates on a shaft counterclockwise in the set operation, pressing parts of a pressing member which is fitted on top end of the hold member press pressed parts of iron piece members to rotate a lock-releasing member for a first blade and a lock-releasing member for a rear blade so that the iron piece members are made to come into contact with iron-core members of electromagnets, while an engagement pin presses an arm of a connection spring to rotate a restraining member clockwise so that a restraining part of the restraining member moves into the trajectory of the movement of a restrained part of the lock-releasing member for the rear blade. When the coils of the electromagnets are not electrified and the hold member rotates clockwise, the lock-releasing member for the front blade presses a front blade locking member to make it possible to perform an open operation of the front blade, while the lock-releasing member for the rear blade cannot press a rear blade locking member because the lock-releasing member for the rear blade is restrained by the restraining member. As a result, an exposure aperture is fully opened, and it becomes possible to perform observation with electronic finder.

A blade room for a second blade group is formed between a shutter base plate and a middle plate and a blade room for a first blade group is formed between the middle plate and an auxiliary base plate, by separating a space between the shutter base plate and the auxiliary base plate by the middle plate. A push pin which is planted on the shutter base plate pushes a portion on the lower area of the middle plate toward the auxiliary base plate so that the middle plate bends in the shape of an arc. Also, the area of the middle plate below the exposure aperture has the narrowest width in the portion which is pushed by the push pin and the pushed portion of the middle plate has a shape by which the area of the middle plate below the exposure aperture is easy to bend.

When photographing using an optical finer, a hold member rotates, and a pressing member pushes a pushed portion of an iron piece member to rotate an unlocking member for a first blade and an unlocking member for a second blade to bring the iron piece member into contact with an iron core member of an electromagnet. When photographing using an electronic finder, a permanent magnet rotor of an electromagnetic device is rotated in a state where the electromagnet is not magnetized, a deterring member is made to face the operation locus of a deterred portion of the unlocking member for a second blade, and then, the hold member is rotated. Thereby, the unlocking member for a second blade is deterred by the deterring member so as to allow observation using the electronic finder without pushing the locking member for a second blade.

A focal plane shutter for cameras includes: a shutter blade assembly; an electromagnet assembly; driving means that includes a mounting member mounted with an iron scrap member that cooperates with an iron core member of the electromagnet assembly; and a setting member that operates the driving means to a set position. The iron scrap member includes a shaft fitted in a mounting hole of the mounting member, an iron scrap portion provided at one end of the shaft and brought into contact with the iron core member, and a removal preventing flange provided at the other end of the shaft, a collar member is fitted to the shaft between the mounting hole and the flange, an edge of the mounting hole is formed to have an arcuate surface protruding toward the collar member, and the collar member is formed to have, on the edge side, an arcuate surface protruding toward the flange and substantially perpendicular to the arcuate surface.

A shock absorbing member made from elastic material is configured with concave portions on the blade-chamber-side surface and three concave portions on the blade-chamber-outside surface. The shock absorbing member is mounted to the shutter base plate in such a way that these concave portions come in contact with the overhang sections, and as is well known, when an exposure operation is completed, the driving pin of a driving member abuts on the shock absorbing member.

A first drive member which rotates with a rotor includes a first cam portion and a second cam portion, and a second drive member which connects a drive pin with a shutter blade includes a first cam portion and a second cam portion. A circular hole of the link member is fitted to a shaft member which is fixed to the first drive member and an elongated hole thereof is fitted to the shaft member fixed to the second drive member. The first drive member rotates the second drive member first via the link member and subsequently rotates the same directly so that when an abutting portion of the second drive member comes into abutment with an edge of the elongated hole, a generated repulsive force acts toward an axis of rotation of the first drive member irrespective of the direction of rotation of a rotor

A focal plane shutter for cameras is provided with a shutter blade which can be actuated to both directions for opening and for closing a photographing optical path by an electromagnetic apparatus. When a rotor is rotated to the direction corresponding to the direction of conduction of coils an actuating member which is formed in one with the rotor make arms rotate by its actuating pin and actuates four blades of the shutter blade about upward and downward direction. A brake member rotatably arranged together with on a friction plate on a shaft has bent portions formed near tip portions of the arm portions which are inserted in a slot on a shutter base plate. An operation for opening the shutter blade is braked by the actuating pin contacting, pressing and moving one of the bent portions at termination stage, and a closing operation is braked by the actuating pin contacting, pressing and moving another bent portion at the termination stage. Thus the shutter blade can be braked suitably at the termination stage and stopped early.

An electromagnetic actuator applied to a camera shutter device includes a rotatable disk-shaped rotor ( ) magnetized with different polarities and having an output portion ( ), a first plate-like yoke ( ) with a first magnetic pole part ( ) opposed to the outer peripheral surface of the rotor ( ) and a second plate-like yoke ( ) with a second magnetic pole part ( ) opposed to the outer peripheral surface of the rotor ( ), and a first coil ( ) and a second coil ( ) wound around the joint areas of the yokes so that the first and second coils become flat in the same direction as the first yoke ( ) and the second yoke ( ). By virtue of this configuration, the electromagnetic actuator can be thinned. Furthermore, the camera shutter device using this electromagnetic actuator and thus the camera can be thinned and miniaturized.

A first blade actuating member and a second blade actuating member have pins, respectively. A movable contact member, which is urged to rotate in a counterclockwise direction, has locking arms and a contact piece member. When the first blade actuating member is rotated in the counterclockwise direction in photographing, the movable contact member causes a locking arm of to follow a pin of the first blade actuating member and causes the contact piece portion to come into contact with the contact piece portion of a stationary contact portion to thereby detect an abnormal actuation of the first blade actuating member by offset from normal timing. Next, when the second blade actuating member is rotated in the counterclockwise direction, a locking arm of the movable contact member is rotated by being pressed by a pin and causes the contact piece portion thereof to come into contact with the contact piece portion of the stationary contact portion to thereby detects an abnormal actuation of the second blade actuating member, similarly to the above mentioned.

A superconductor having at least one Hg&mdash;M&mdash;Cu&mdash;O (M&equals;Ba, Sr and/or Ca) superconducting film provided on a substrate and having a thickness of between 300 &angst; to 950 &angst;. The superconductor may be prepared by forming, on a substrate, a precursor laminate composed of a first, M&mdash;Cu&mdash;O film and a second, Hg&mdash;O film. The precursor laminate film-bearing substrate is placed in a closed vacuum chamber together with a first pellet of HgO, MO and CuO and a second pellet of MO and CuO. The contents in the chamber are heated to form, on the substrate, a superconducting Hg&mdash;M&mdash;Cu&mdash;O film. The thickness of the first M&mdash;Cu&mdash;O film of the precursor is controlled so that the thickness of the superconducting Hg&mdash;M&mdash;Cu&mdash;O film is in the range of between 300 &angst; to 950 &angst;.

A light-shielding blade material is provided that contributes to increased focal plane shutter speeds. A focal plane shutter has a front blade group and a rear blade group, each being composed of a plurality of light-shielding blades. At least one of these light-shielding blades is made of a Be&mdash;Al alloy material containing 40% by weight or more of Be, and has a thickness of 40 to 150 microns. This light-shielding blade is light in weight and high in stiffness, thereby significantly contributing the increased focal plane shutter speeds.
