According to one embodiment, an electrode is provided. The electrode includes a current collector and an active material-containing layer formed on the current collector. The active material-containing layer contains a lithium nickel cobalt manganese composite oxide and a lithium cobalt composite oxide. Pore size distribution obtained by mercury intrusion porosimetry for the active material-containing layer has a first peak top indicating a highest intensity Iwithin a pore size range of from 0.1 μm to 1 μm and a second peak top indicating an intensity Iwhich is a second highest intensity after the highest intensity Iwithin the pore size range of from 0.1 μm to 1 μm. A pore size at the first peak top is smaller than a pore size at the second peak top.

Electrode, electrode group, battery, and battery pack

A battery module including a plurality of battery cells, a first chassis, and a connection member. The battery cells are aligned in a first direction. The first chassis includes a plurality of first compartments in which the battery cells are housed one by one, and at least one second compartment that is partitioned in the first direction. The connection member includes a body that is housed in the second compartment, a pair of connection terminals that is mounted on a first face of the body and is electrically connectable to the electrodes of the battery cells via a conductive member. The first face faces in a second direction intersecting with the first direction, and a conductor that extends across the pair of connection terminals.

A square secondary battery of an embodiment includes an outer can formed in a shape of a bottomed cylinder having a cross-sectional shape of a substantially quadrangular shape, the outer can having an opening, a power generation element contained in the outer can, and a lid having a positive electrode terminal and a negative electrode terminal, the lid covering the opening of the outer can. Two or more convex portions exist on each of one or more surfaces of a side surface of an outer surface of the outer can, a bottom surface of the outer surface of the outer can, and a surface having the positive electrode terminal and the negative electrode terminal of an outer surface of the lid.

According to one embodiment, a battery is provided. The battery includes an electrode body, a lead, a container member, and a terminal. The container member includes a main part and a terminal-connecting part adjacent to the main part. The electrode body is housed in the main part of the container member. The lead is electrically connected to the electrode body. The lead is housed in the terminal-connecting part of the container member. The terminal is electrically connected to the lead. The terminal is provided on the terminal-connecting part. A thickness of the main part of the container member is larger than a thickness of the terminal-connecting part of the container member.

Battery and battery module

According to an embodiment, an electrode is provided. The electrode group includes a stack. The stack includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode or negative electrodes, and separator. Each negative electrode includes a negative electrode current collector and a negative electrode layer provided on the negative electrode current collector. The electrode group satisfies following relational formulae (I) to (III): 10&#x2264;a/b&#x2264;16 (I); 0.7&#x2264;D/E&#x2264;1.4 (II); E&#x2264;85 (III). Here, the a[mm] is a thickness of the stack. The b[mm] is a thickness of the negative electrode current collector, or is a total thickness of the negative electrode current collectors. The D[&#x3bc;m] is a thickness of the positive electrode. The E[&#x3bc;m] is a thickness of the negative electrode.

Wound electrode group, electrode group, and nonaqueous electrolyte battery

According to one embodiment, there is provided a nonaqueous electrolyte battery including a positive electrode, a negative electrode and a nonaqueous electrolyte. The positive electrode includes a positive electrode active material layer including a lithium nickel cobalt manganese composite oxide. The negative electrode includes a negative electrode active material layer including a spinel type lithium titanate. The nonaqueous electrolyte has an ion conductivity of not less than 7 mS/cm and not more than 10 mS/cm at 25&#xb0; C. A capacity ratio p/n is within a range of not less than 1.4 and not more than 1.8. A thickness ratio T/Tis within a range of not less than 1.05 and less than 1.3. A ratio P/Pis within a range of not less than 0.55 and less than 0.8.

According to one embodiment, a battery includes a flat-shaped electrode group, a package member and a terminal section. The package member includes a stainless steel-made first package having a flange at an opening and a stainless steel-made second package. The electrode group is stored in a space formed by welding the flange of the first package to the second package. The terminal section includes a through-hole that is open to the first package, a ring-shaped rising portion that extends from a periphery of the through-hole toward an inside of the package member, a ring-shaped member that is arranged on an outer surface of the rising portion, an insulation gasket, and an external terminal. The external terminal is fixed to the first package by caulking.

A secondary battery according to one embodiment includes, an electrode group which is a cathode and an anode wound with a separator being interposed therebetween, a first lead having a first welding surface, a second lead having a second welding surface which is bent with respect to a winding axial direction of the electrode group, a first current collecting tab which is extended from one end of the electrode group on the winding axial direction, and welded onto the first welding surface of the first lead, a second current collecting tab which is extended from the other end of the electrode group on the winding axial direction, and welded onto the second welding surface of the second lead, a first terminal connected to the first lead, and a second terminal connected to the second lead.

Secondary battery and a method of manufacturing secondary battery

A battery disclosed herein includes a container member housing an electrode body and a lead, a gasket, an external terminal, and a restraining member. The container member includes a terminal-connecting part having a thickness of 0.3 mm or less. The terminal-connecting part includes a through hole including a rising part. The gasket includes a hollow shaft inserted into the rising part. The external terminal includes a terminal shaft. The terminal shaft includes a diameter-reduction part. The restraining member restrains at least a part of the diameter-reduction part of the terminal shaft via the diameter-reduction part of the rising part and the shaft of the gasket. The inclination angle of the rising part is larger than the inclination angle of the terminal shaft.

Battery and seal unit

According to one embodiment, a fuel cell includes an electric-power generator, a fuel distribution mechanism, and a pump. The electric-power generator includes a membrane electrode assembly including an anode, a cathode, and an electrolytic membrane. The fuel distribution mechanism includes a container and a thin tube. The container includes a fuel discharge surface, and contains the electric-power generator inside. The thin tube is formed in the container in a manner that a fuel outlet and a fuel inlet communicate with each other. The pump is connected directly to the fuel inlet.

Fuel cell

A fuel cell () includes an electromotive unit () having a membrane electrode assembly (MEA) (), a fuel storage unit () storing a liquid fuel, and a fuel supply mechanism () supplying the fuel from the fuel storage unit () to a fuel electrode () of the membrane electrode assembly (). The membrane electrode assembly () has a gas vent hole () provided in a manner to penetrate through at least an electrolyte membrane () to let a gas component generated on a side of the fuel electrode () escape to a side of an air electrode ().

The present invention relates to a fuel cell including: a membrane electrode assembly () having a fuel electrode (), an air electrode (), and an electrolyte membrane () sandwiched therebetween; and a fuel storage unit () storing a liquid fuel. The fuel cell is capable of continuously generating electricity for long hours only by being replenished with a fuel, and therefore, attempts have been made to miniaturize the fuel cell to use it as a power source of portable electronic devices. When the membrane electrode assembly and the fuel storage unit in the fuel cell are connected via a flow path, a fuel supply state becomes uneven depending on the shape and the like of the flow path even though a supply amount of the fuel can be adjusted, which causes a problem such as a decrease in an output of the fuel cell. The present invention solves the aforethe problem by providing, in the fuel cell, a fuel distributing mechanism () which supplies the fuel to a plurality of places of the fuel electrode, and connecting the fuel distributing mechanism and the fuel storage unit via the flow path ().

In electronic equipment using a fuel cell as a power source, an antenna and a fuel cell, which are provided in a lower case of a main body receiving electronic parts, are arranged at a given distance from each other. An acceptable communication state can be established in the electronic equipment.
