A projecting type image display apparatus includes a calculation processing unit for calculating a Fraunhofer diffraction image of an original image, an image display unit for producing/displaying the calculated Fraunhofer diffraction image, and an image converting unit for projecting the produced/displayed Fraunhofer diffraction image to the original image and projecting the original image on the screen. The calculation processing unit has a function of calculating the Fraunhofer diffraction image of the projection image and outputting the same to the image display unit. The image display unit is provided with an image display element on which the Fraunhofer diffraction image is optically displayed. The image projecting unit is provided with first and second lenses for converting the Fraunhofer diffraction image to the original image and projecting the original image on the screen.

Projection type image display apparatus

A spectroscopic apparatus capable of simultaneously producing spectroscopic images corresponding to a plurality of wavelengths and a spectroscopic image recording apparatus capable of recording the produced spectroscopic images, wherein an image producing unit produces a plurality of same images from a single input image by dividing a pupil of an optical system, a first spectroscopic unit produces a plurality of first spectroscopic images corresponding to the plurality of same images by extracting a predetermined wavelength component corresponding to each of the plurality of same images, and a second spectroscopic unit produces a plurality of second spectroscopic images corresponding to respective ones of the first spectroscopic images by extracting a predetermined wavelength component corresponding to each of the first spectroscopic images corresponding to the plurality of same images.

Spectroscopic apparatus and spectroscopic image recording apparatus

An image display apparatus comprises an image display unit capable of producing and displaying not an image itself but a Fourier-transform image of the image, and a light transmission unit for focusing the Fourier-transform image produced and displayed on the image display unit on a pupil face of an observer's eye and producing an original image on the retina of the eye. The light transmission unit includes a lens and an eye lens such that an image-side focal position of the lens coincides with an object-side focal position of the eye lens. A mask is situated at the object-side focal position of the eye lens to determine the range and shape of a visual field. The image display unit is situated at an image-side focal position of the lens, and the pupil face of the observer's eye is alinged at an image-side focal position of the eye lens.

Image display apparatus

An image display apparatus comprises an image display unit capable of generating and displaying a plurality of coherent point light source pairs, a light transmission unit for focusing the point light source pairs on the pupil plane of an observer's eye so that an image is formed on the retina of the eye by the effect of optical interference, a visual axis detector for monitoring the movements of the eye and detecting the visual axis direction thereof, and an image display correcting unit for restricting a distortion of the image, caused by the eye movements, within its tolerance in accordance with data detected by the visual axis detector. The image display correcting unit includes an optical member set in an optical path between the image display unit and a lens, and an optical member drive unit for tilting the optical member for a given angle in a predetermined direction.

A detecting portion outputs a contact state signal in accordance with a contact state with respect to an object to be manipulated. The contact state signal represents at least one of information of a sense of sliding of the detection portion with respect to the object and surface information such as surface roughness of the object. A signal processing section converts the contact state signal from the detecting portion into tactility information corresponding to at least one of the information of the sense of sliding and the surface information. A tactility providing portion is excited in accordance with the tactility information from the signal processing section to generate at least one of a traveling wave corresponding to the information of the sense of sliding and a standing wave corresponding to the surface information. A transmission portion transmits at least one of the traveling wave and the standing wave generated by the tactility providing portion to a finger of an operator.
