A rotary damper having a simple self-standing mechanism which does not cause an inconvenience such as bounce of an opening/closing member at an end of an opening operation of the opening/closing member such as toilet lid is provided. A rotary damper has a housing, a shaft, a vane, a sliding member, an O ring, and a cap as main components. A shaft portion, formed in a pressure chamber of the housing, includes a blade portion protruding in an axial direction of the shaft portion. A cutout portion is formed in a center portion between both ends of the blade portion. On another side surface of the blade portion, a first groove is formed in a circumferential direction from a base of the blade portion to the outer periphery of the shaft portion. A second groove is formed on the outer periphery of the shaft portion spaced from the first groove.

Rotary damper having simple self-standing mechanism

Provided is a braking device configured to release a cord in a non-bent state so that the operation force required to pull cords is reduced and the behavior of slats is stabilized during an automatic fall, and a sunlight shielding device using the braking device. A braking device for braking movement of a cord includes a movement converter configured to convert movement of a cord into movement of another member. The movement converter includes sandwiching object configured to allow the cord to be sandwiched. The sandwiching object is configured to change a sandwiched state so that the cord is sandwiched by the sandwiching object when the cord and the sandwiching object move relatively in one direction and the cord is released in a non-bent state when the cord and the sandwiching object move relatively in another direction.

Braking device, and shielding device using same

It is an object to decrease the size of the intake unit and to increase possibility of incorporating this intake unit to the existing drawer, sliding door, and so on. The intake unit engaging with a projection portion of the drawing device to move a drawer in the predetermined direction comprises a basic substrate; a cylindrical shock absorber; a movement member releasably engaged at one end of movement stroke; a pulley supported on the side of movement of the cylindrical shock absorber; and a flexible member in which a middle portion thereof is suspended to the pulley, one end is connected to said movement member, and the other end is connected to said basic substrate. When the movement member is released from the lock state, said movement member moves by predetermined stroke in one direction due to urging force of the urging member, and against this movement, a brake of said cylindrical shock absorber is applied through said flexible member.

Intake unit

An adequate rotation angle is ensured and any member is not damaged due to fluid resistance even with use of highly viscous fluid. A rotating shaft () is provided inside a casing () having first divider walls () provided on its inner periphery and in direct or indirect contact with the rotating shaft. Second divider walls () are provided on an outer periphery of the rotating shaft and in either direct or indirect contact with the casing. A flow passage () is provided in the second divider wall for fluid communication between the pressure chambers. A check valve mechanism has curving portions () moving on and along the periphery of the rotating shaft and valving portions () each joining to the curving portion. The curving portion is supported between the rotating shaft and the first divider wall. The flow passage is opened/closed depending upon a direction of fluid flow.

Rotating damper

A rotary damper has a casing having a fluid chamber filled with a fluid, a rotatable member disposed in the fluid chamber for rotation relative to the casing, a vane disposed on an outer circumferential surface of the rotatable member and extending in an axial direction thereof, the vane projecting toward an inner circumferential surface of the fluid chamber and having a first side and a second side opposite to the first side, a fluid passage for allowing the fluid to flow between the first side and the second side at or near a tip end of the vane, and a valve body mounted on the vane for selectively opening and closing the fluid passage. The valve body comprises a valve disposed in a position for closing the fluid passage and a spring for normally urging the valve in a direction to close the fluid passage. The valve and the spring are integrally formed. When the rotatable member rotates in a first direction, the valve opens the fluid passage against the urge of the spring under the pressure of the fluid on the first side of the vane. When the rotatable member stops against rotation, the valve instantaneously closes the fluid passage under the urge of the spring. When the rotatable member rotates in a second direction, the valve keeps closing the fluid passage under the urge of the spring and the pressure of the fluid on the second side of the vane.
