An image forming apparatus includes a manual feed portion provided on a side surface of a housing that accommodates an image forming portion and having an abutting portion against which a downstream end in a sheet feeding direction of a sheet inserted into a gap between the manual feed portion and the side surface abuts. The manual feed portion also includes a holding portion configured to hold the sheet such that a sheet surface is held along the side surface of the housing in the condition in which the downstream end of the sheet abuts against the abutting portion.

Image forming apparatus

A registration unit includes a skew correction roller pair configured to rotate a sheet conveyed from a conveyance roller pair and to correct skew of the sheet. The registration unit sheet further includes a projectable swinging guide arranged between the conveyance roller pair and the skew correction roller pair to deflect the sheet. The skew correction roller pair corrects the skew of the sheet deflected by the swinging guide.

A sheet feeding apparatus according to an aspect of the invention includes conveying suction belts which have a function of rotating an adsorbed sheet and a function of conveying the sheet; a suction fanwhich adsorbs the sheet to the belts; CCDs which detect a position and an skew in a direction orthogonal to a sheet conveying direction while the sheet is adsorbed to the belts; and a control device for driving the belts to rotate the sheet according to signals of CCDs in order to correct an attitude of the sheet adsorbed to the belts.

Image forming apparatus and fixing device

A temperature of a sheet material after passing a first fixing device and before entering a second fixing device changes between the start and the end of an image forming job, thus resulting in a change in the gloss of the toner image. A cooling apparatus for directly or indirectly cooling the sheet material is provided in a conveying pathbetween the first fixing deviceand the second fixing devicethereby suppressing a change in the image gloss between the start and the end of the image forming job.

An original feeding device for feeding a sheet-shaped original comprises an original loading tray for loading the original, a width direction aligning plates and for aligning the width direction of the original loaded on the original loading tray, and an original size indicator. The original size indicator is the scale for indication of an original size, and is disposed so that the original size indicated by the width direction aligning plate can be checked by any of a first view point from above for the original feeding device and a second view point having an equal height to the feeding device and also sidelongly fronting the same device.
