A sound source separation program causes a computer to acquire an acoustic signal, convert the acquired acoustic signal from a time region to a frequency region, and perform sound source separation on the acoustic signal converted to the frequency region by performing updating based on elementary row operation on a demixing matrix to iteratively minimize an objective function including a quadratic form of a separation vector and a determinant of the demixing matrix.

A sound source separation apparatus includes: a separation-matrix processor that transforms a plurality of observation signals corresponding to sounds being propagated from a plurality of sound sources into a frequency-domain signal group the separation-matrix processor updating a separation matrix based on the frequency-domain signal group and transforming the updated separation matrix into time-series filter coefficients to output; a filter-coefficient transformer that partially removes non-causal components from the filter coefficients to transform the filter coefficients, and a separator that supplies the filter coefficients to a filter group, the separator generating a plurality of separation signals separated from the plurality of observation signals corresponding to the separation matrix.

Sound source separation apparatus

According to an embodiment, a signal processing apparatus includes an estimation unit and an updating unit. The estimation unit is configured to estimate an auxiliary variable of a target section including first and second sections of input signals by using an approximating auxiliary function for approximating an auxiliary function having an auxiliary variable as an argument. The auxiliary function is determined according to an objective function that outputs a function value that is smaller as a statistical independence of separated signals into which input signals in time-series are separated by a demixing matrix is higher. The estimation unit is configured to estimate a value of the auxiliary variable of the target section based on the estimated auxiliary variable. The updating unit is configured to update the demixing matrix such that a function value of the approximating auxiliary function is minimized.

Apparatus, method, and computer program product for separating time series signals

A microphone that identifies the direction along which acoustic waves propagate with one diaphragm, and has superior durability is provided. The microphone includes a circular diaphragm supported at a center portion thereof. When the diaphragm receives acoustic waves, each position around the center thereof will vibrate with a phase depending upon the direction of the acoustic waves. First electrodes are arranged on one surface of the diaphragm and second electrodes are arranged facing corresponding first electrodes to form a first capacitor. Third electrodes are arranged on the other surface of the diaphragm and fourth electrodes are arranged facing corresponding third electrodes to form a second capacitor. A controller applies a voltage to the second capacitors so that the capacitance of the first capacitors will be constant and identifies the direction along which the acoustic waves propagate based on the difference in the voltages applied to each of the second capacitors.
