A smooth shift is achieved between an operating region in which a first turbocharger is mainly operated and an operating region in which a second turbocharger is mainly operated. A PCM controls a throttle valve to use a first supercharging region in which a gas flow through an exhaust bypass passage is reduced and a second supercharging region in which the gas flow through the exhaust bypass passage is promoted differently based on the operating state of an engine. In an early stage of a shift from the first supercharging region to the second supercharging region, the PCM executes bridge control to allow the flow velocity of exhaust gas flowing into a large turbine to be higher than at a point in time at which the shift starts.

Control device and method for turbocharged engine

Disclosed is a controller for a turbocharged engine. The engine includes a supercharger configured to supercharge intake air using an exhaust gas from the engine, and including movable flaps arranged so that a boost pressure generated in an intake passage is adjustable. If a rotational speed of a turbine and compressor that constitute the supercharger has reached a first threshold lower than an endurance limit, an amount of fuel injected to the engine is reduced to a predetermined amount. If the rotational speed has reached a second threshold lower than the first threshold, the amount of fuel injected is reduced in accordance with an excess of the rotational speed over the second threshold.

Control device for engine equipped with turbo-supercharger

An abnormality detector of a turbocharged engine includes: a compressor including a plurality of blades that are detected portions; and a detecting portion configured to electrically detect the plurality of blades. Each time the blades are detected a predetermined number of times, one pulse having a pulse width corresponding to a measurement time required to detect the blades is output, and a turbo revolution is calculated from the pulse width of the output pulse. When it is judged that a rotation change of the rotating body which change is calculated based on a pulse width of a first pulse and a pulse width of a second pulse output after the first pulse exceeds a predetermined rate in a region where the rotating body exceeds a predetermined revolution, it is determined that an abnormality of the blade or an electromagnetic noise abnormality of the detecting portion occurs.

A cooling system for an engine is provided. The cooling system includes coolant flow paths including a first flow path and a second flow path and where coolant circulates, a coolant pump for circulating coolant within the coolant flow paths, a flow rate control valve for adjusting a flow rate of the coolant through the second flow path, a temperature detector for detecting a temperature of the coolant within the first flow path, and a valve controller for adjusting an opening of the flow rate control valve based on the temperature detected by the temperature detector. The first flow path passes through a cylinder head of the engine, and the second flow path branches from the first flow path and passes through auxiliary machinery of the engine.

The cooling system includes coolant flow paths including a first flow path and a second flow path and where coolant circulates, a coolant pump for circulating the coolant within the coolant flow paths, a flow rate control valve for adjusting a flow rate of the coolant through the second flow path, a temperature detector for detecting a temperature of the coolant within the first flow path, a valve controller for adjusting an opening of the flow rate control valve based on the temperature detected by the temperature detector, and an output level determiner for determining an output level of the engine based on at least one of a fuel injection amount for the engine and an engine speed.

An exhaust control apparatus for an engine is provided. The apparatus includes a turbocharger, a high-pressure exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) device, a low-pressure EGR device, and a flap controller. The turbocharger includes a turbine, a compressor, and movable flaps, and rotates the turbine by exhaust gas to drive the compressor so as to boost intake air. The high-pressure EGR device recirculates, within a first engine operating range, the exhaust gas from a position of an exhaust passage upstream of the turbine to a position of an intake passage downstream of the compressor. The low-pressure EGR device recirculates, within a second engine operating range, the exhaust gas from a position of the exhaust passage downstream of the turbine to a position of the intake passage upstream of the compressor. The flap controller controls flap openings.

The cooling system includes an EGR device including an EGR passage for recirculating exhaust gas into an intake passage, an EGR valve for adjusting a flow rate of the recirculating exhaust gas, and an EGR cooler for cooling the recirculating exhaust gas, an EGR valve controller for controlling the EGR valve, coolant flow paths including a first flow path and a second flow path and where coolant circulates, a coolant pump for circulating coolant within the coolant flow paths, a flow rate control valve for adjusting a flow rate of the coolant through the second flow path, a temperature detector for detecting a coolant temperature within the first flow path, and a valve controller for adjusting a flow rate control valve opening based on the detected temperature.
