A control device for an internal combustion engine is provided which enables control of dilution of oil by fuel and water drops, i.e., control of the amount of so-called oil dilution. The control device for an internal combustion engine that is lubricated or cooled by oil includes: a variable displacement oil pump capable of varying the amount of discharge of the oil; an air-fuel ratio sensor for sensing an air-fuel ratio of the internal combustion engine; and an ECU for controlling the amount of discharge of the variable displacement oil pump. The ECU controls the amount of discharge of the variable displacement oil pump, based on the air-fuel ratio sensed by the air-fuel ratio sensor.

Control device for internal combustion engine

An internal combustion engine cooling system, including: an internal combustion engine; a cooling circuit in which cooling fluid for cooling the internal combustion engine is circulated; a radiator for cooling the cooling fluid; a radiator circuit that branches from the cooling circuit to guide the cooling fluid to the radiator and return the cooling fluid having passed the radiator to the cooling circuit; a thermostat that is provided in a portion where the cooling circuit and the radiator circuit are connected to each other and that opens and closes a path between cooling circuit and the radiator circuit; a heater for heating the thermostat; and a control device for controlling the heater.

Internal combustion engine cooling system

An internal-combustion engine includes a cylinder, a piston, a spark plug, and a fuel injection device. The piston includes a top surface, a guiding protrusion, and a cavity. The cavity is provided at a position closer to the fuel injection device than the guiding protrusion when viewed from above the top surface of the piston. The guiding protrusion includes a guiding surface to guide the fuel mist toward the spark plug when the fuel mist is injected from the fuel injection device at a first predetermined timing in a compression stroke. The cavity includes a guiding wall portion to guide the fuel mist toward the spark plug when the fuel mist is injected from the fuel injection device at a timing in the compression stroke between the first predetermined timing and a second predetermined timing.

Internal-combustion engine

An outboard engine unit includes a single lubricating oil supply tube for supplying lubricating oil to a valve-operating chain. The valve-operating chain is suspended across a drive sprocket provided to a crankshaft and a driven sprocket provided to a camshaft. A supply tube is connected to a main gallery that is linked to a main oil channel positioned in an area adjacent to the crankshaft.

Outboard engine unit

A water-cooled internal combustion engine has a cylinder headprovided with a cylinder head water jacket Jthrough which cooling water flows. The cylinder head water jacket Jincludes a combustion chamber water jacketsurrounding combustion chambersand an exhaust passage water jacketaround an exhaust manifold passage. The exhaust gas discharged from the combustion chambersthrough exhaust portsflows through the exhaust manifold passage. The exhaust passage water jacketis divided into an upstream water jacketand a downstream water jacketby a partition wall. The cooling water flows from both the upstream water jacketand the downstream water jacketinto the combustion chamber water jacket. Equality in temperature between a combustion chamber wall and an exhaust passage wall is improved and the cylinder headis heated in a uniform temperature distribution.

Water-cooled internal combustion engine

An internal combustion engine is provided with a decompressing mechanism including: a pin supported so as to be turnable on a camshaft; a flyweight supported for turning relative to the camshaft by the pin on the camshaft; and a decompression cam capable of operating together with the flyweight to apply valve opening force to an engine valve. The pin is inserted in holes formed in the flyweight so as to be turnable. A spring washer restrains the pin and the flyweight from movement relative to each other, so that generation of rattling noise due to collision between the pin and the flyweight can be prevented or controlled.

Internal combustion engine provided with decompressing mechanisms

An engine lubrication system is provided which has an oil pump for supplying lubricating oil from an oil pan to an area that is to be lubricated, the oil pump being positioned outside-the-oil pan and driven by a camshaft. An oil passage formation member fitted to the lower face of an engine block so as to be housed in the oil pan, comprises an oil inlet passage for taking in oil from the oil pan to the oil pump and a relief valve for discharging excess oil discharged by the oil pump via an oil supply passage. When the relief valve opens, the excess oil is not directly discharged to the oil pan but is returned to the oil inlet passage from the oil supply passage via a connecting path. The space required for housing a vertical engine, and in particular in the vertical direction, can thus be reduced and the formation of bubbles in the oil inside the oil pan due to the oil discharged by the relief valve through the oil supply passage, can be prevented.

Engine lubrication system

A piston is reliably cooled from its backside by using an oil for lubricating portions around a crank pin of a crankshaft. An engine including a crankshaft is provided with lubricating oil bores to supply an oil from journals of the crankshaft to an outer peripheral surface of a crank pin. A larger end of the connecting rod is provided with a pair of opposed axial oil grooves in its outer peripheral surface, and with an annular oil passage connected to the axial groove in its side thrust face. A pair of cooling oil injection grooves each have one end connected to the annular oil passage and the other end directed to a piston while they are provided proximate to each other.

Piston oil-cooling device in an engine

A small and light decompression device of a four-stroke-cycle engine which cancels decompression operation surely when the engine rotational speed exceeds a predetermined speed to enable a stable engine starting. The device comprises an axial hole formed in a cam shaft, an oil pressure chamber formed in the axial hole, a decompression shaft reciprocating in accordance with oil pressure in the oil pressure chamber, a decompression pin which drives an exhaust valve to open in the compression stroke when the decompression shaft positions at a first position and stops the opening drive of the exhaust valve when the decompression shaft positions at a second position, a weight rotating in accordance with the engine rotational speed, and an oil pressure control valve interlocked with the weight to open and close a leak hole for controlling oil pressure in the oil pressure chamber.

Decompression device of a four-stroke-cycle internal combustion engine

A fuel feed device for a gas engine includes a thermally insulated cartridge case for receiving therein a disposable gas cylinder or cartridge. The cartridge case has a built-in temperature sensor for detecting the temperature of the gas cartridge, and a built-in electric heater for heating the gas cartridge. The electric heater is controlled such that the temperature detected by the temperature sensor is kept within a predetermined temperature range. A working machine driven by the gas engine is also disclosed.
