A superconducting rotating electrical machine configuring a motor or generator, includes a base member, a stator supported by the base member, a rotor rotatably provided relative to the stator and including a superconducting material, a rotary shaft supporting the rotor, a cooling portion cooling the stator, a low temperature container forming an accommodating chamber accommodating the stator, the rotor, and a coolant, the accommodating chamber being arranged within the base member, a vacuum heat insulation chamber arranged at an outer side of the accommodating chamber and thermally insulating the accommodating chamber with vacuum, and a bearing positioned a portion of the base member where the accommodating chamber is prevented from being provided and which is exposed to an ambient atmosphere including atmospheric air, the bearing rotatably supporting the rotary shaft.

Superconducting rotating electrical machine

A superconducting apparatus includes a superconducting member generating a magnetic field when an electric power is supplied to the superconducting member, a permeable yoke into which a magnetic flux of the magnetic field generated by the superconducting member permeates, and a conductive portion cooled to a low temperature state by a low temperature portion and cools the permeable yoke by thermally making contact therewith.

Superconducting apparatus

A superconducting apparatus includes a magnetic field generating portion including a superconducting coil, an extremely low temperature generating portion maintaining the superconducting coil at an extremely low temperature and in a superconducting state, a container defining a heat insulation chamber that accommodates the superconducting coil, a first terminal electrically connected to the superconducting coil and supplying an electric power to the superconducting coil, a second terminal connected to an external electric power source and supplying the electric power to the first terminal in a case where the magnetic field generating portion is driven, and a heat penetration preventing element holding one of the first and second terminals and thermally separating the first and second terminals from each other in a case where a driving of the magnetic field generating portion is stopped, the heat penetration preventing element restraining a heat penetration from the second terminal to the first terminal.

A vacuum container for housing therein a superconducting apparatus includes first and second partition walls made of magnetic-permeable nonmetallic materials, respectively, and facing each other to form a vacuum heat insulation chamber that is adapted to cover a superconductor that generates a magnetic flux. The first and second partition walls are exposed to relatively higher and lower temperatures, respectively. The first partition wall includes a radiation surface emitting thermal radiation while the second partition wall includes an absorption surface absorbing the thermal radiation. One of the radiation surface and the absorption surface is provided with a metal layer group in an exposed manner relative to the other of the radiation surface and the absorption surface. The metal layer group includes a plurality of metal layers spaced apart from one another and the nonmetallic material appears between the plurality of metal layers.

Superconducting apparatus and vacuum container for the same

A cryogenic refrigerating device comprising includes an adiabatic vacuum tank, a refrigerator having at least a low temperature generating portion of the refrigerator accommodated in the adiabatic vacuum tank, an adsorption panel attached to the low temperature generating portion of the refrigerator at a location for adsorbing molecules floating in a vacuum in the adiabatic vacuum tank, and a selective sorbing device provided in the adiabatic vacuum tank at a location for sorbing selected molecules floating in the adiabatic vacuum tank. The molecules in the adiabatic vacuum tank are adsorbed by either the panel or by the adsorbing device for keeping the vacuum pressure level in the tank constant for a long period of time.

Cryogenic refrigerating device

A pulse tube refrigerating system has a refrigeration generation unit including a cold head with two ends. A pulse tube has its low temperature end connected to one end of the cold head and a regenerator has its low temperature end connected to the other end of the cold head. A pressure vibration source is connected to a high temperature end of the regenerator and serves to vibrate a working gas in the refrigeration generation unit by expanding and compressing the working gas. A flow control device is connected to a high temperature end of the pulse tube and establishes a phase difference between vibration and displacement of the working gas. The flow control device includes a buffer tank, a conduit interposed between the buffer tank and the high temperature end of the pulse tube, a restrictive member placed at one of the high temperature end and the low temperature end of the pulse tube, and a flow adjusting member interposed between the restrictive member and the pulse tube. The restrictive member is configured to restrict the working gas before the working gas enters the pulse tube and the flow adjusting member has a plurality of axial passages therethrough. One advantage of this pulse tube refrigerating system is that its coaxial arrangement makes the system easy to assemble.

Pulse tube refrigerating system

A linear compressor having improved heat-radiating performance incorporates first and second cylinders disposed coaxially, a first piston reciprocatably disposed inside the first cylinder, a second piston reciprocatably disposed inside the second cylinder, a compression chamber formed by the front face of the first piston and the front face of the second piston and a connecting wall connecting the first and second cylinders, and multiple working gas passages having openings formed in the connecting wall and connecting the compression chamber to the outside via these openings. The working gas passages are formed on a plane perpendicular to the axial direction of the first and second cylinder. Heat-radiating means are provided around the working gas passages. The first cylinder and the second cylinder are made of aluminum (or an aluminum alloy). As a result, the size of the compression chamber can he decreased and the compression ratio thereby increased, and heat from the working gas can be radiated efficiently from the working gas passages and from the cylinders.

Linear compressor with a coaxial piston arrangement

A flexure bearing unit in a linear drive compressor that supports a piston on a yoke for reciprocating movement within a housing includes a plurality of flat discs each provided with a central opening through which extends the piston and a plurality of outer openings receiving parts of the yoke. The flexure bearing is provided with a plurality of first supports each disposed between adjacent flat discs at the outer peripheral portions of the flat discs for supporting opposite sides of the flat discs at the outer peripheral portions of the flat discs. The flexure bearing is also provided with a plurality of second supports each provided between adjacent flat discs at the inner peripheral portions of the flat discs for supporting opposite sides of the flat discs at the inner peripheral portions of the flat discs. The flat discs each include a plurality of spirally extending slits which each possess oppositely located ends. One end of each slit terminates in the outer peripheral portion of the flat disc that is supported on opposite sides by the first supports and the other end of each slit terminates in the inner peripheral portion of the flat disc that is supported on opposite sides by the second supports.

Flexure bearing

A multi-headed cryopump apparatus includes a plurality of cryopumps driven by a common compressor. There is a valve system between each cryopump and the compressor. A motor is provided for driving each cryopump, and a sensor is provided for detecting the amount of current supplied to each motor. By use of a control system, which accepts input from the sensors, the valve systems are controlled such that they operate in turn with a constant cycle.

Multi-headed cryopump apparatus

A cryogenic refrigerator has a working chamber defined between a cylinder and a piston received therein. The working chamber is alternately communicated with discharge and suction ports of a compressor to thereby cause a refrigerant to be repeatedly compressed and expanded. The refrigerator is provided with a sensor for detecting the pressure of the refrigerant discharged from the discharge port of the compressor. A microcomputer is connected to the sensor for making comparison between the detected pressure of the refrigerant, which is received in the form of an electric signal, and a reference value. The refrigerator is further provided with a driver circuit for controlling the drive of the motor in accordance with the result of the comparison. Accordingly, when the pressure of the refrigerant is high at the time of starting the cryogenic refrigerator, the microcomputer instructs the driver circuit to rotate a motor at high speed. Thus, the reciprocating cycle of the piston driven by the motor is quickened, so that it is possible to bring the refrigerator into a stable or stationary operation state in a relatively short period of time.

Cryogenic refrigerator

A cryogenic refrigerator has an upper chamber formed at an upper end portion of a cylinder above a displacer. An upper end portion of a rod is movable in a bore and lower end portion of the rod is connected to an upper end portion of the displacer. Pressure varies in the upper chamber between high and low values upon movement of the displacer. The bore is always supplied with low-pressure such that the displacer may be moved by the differential pressure between the upper chamber and the bore.
