A system and method for mounting a fluid droplet ejection module to a frame is disclosed, where the fluid ejection module includes a mounting component having a mounting surface. A connector is configured to detachably attach to the frame and is positioned between the frame and the mounting surface of the fluid ejection module. A portion of a mating surface of the connector is positioned adjacent the mounting surface of a corresponding fluid ejection module and is in direct contact with the mounting surface. One or more recesses are formed in at least one of either the mounting surface of the fluid ejection module or the mating surface of the connector. The one or more recesses have a substantially uniform thickness and are filled with an adhesive. The adhesive is cured after aligning the fluid ejection module to the frame.

Method and apparatus for mounting a fluid ejection module

A printing device has a gas source, a printhead having a nozzle plate with nozzles in the nozzle plate, the nozzles are fluidly connected to corresponding pumping chamber and a gas outlet positioned adjacent to the nozzle plate. The gas outlet is in fluid communication with the gas source and the gas outlet is configured to provide gas to an exposed surface of the nozzle plate so that the gas flow is substantially parallel to the surface of the nozzle plate. Fluid that is ejected out of the nozzles has a UV curable component. After the fluid has been ejected out of the nozzle and onto a receiver, the fluid is irradiated and cured.

A device for depositing drops includes a head configured to eject drops on a region of a substrate; a stage configured to hold the substrate while the head ejects drops on the region of the substrate; a first transporting device configured to transport the substrate in a transporting direction onto the stage; and a second transporting device configured to transport the substrate in the transporting direction off the stage. The stage and at least one of the first transporting device or the second transporting device are movable together in the transporting direction.

Depositing drops on a substrate carried by a stage

A printhead assembly including a printhead module and a mounting structure is described. The printhead module is mounted on a receiving surface of the mounting structure and includes a first edge and a second edge opposite the first edge. The first and second edges extend beyond edges of the receiving surface by a first distance in a first direction and are positioned between featured edges of the mounting structure in a second direction that is substantially perpendicular to the first direction. Each featured edge includes a first feature protruding from the featured edge by a second distance in the first direction, where the second distance is greater than the first distance. The first features extend beyond the first and second edges of the printhead module. Each featured edge includes a recessed second feature configured to receive a first feature of a neighboring mounting structure.

A surface treatment apparatus which can efficiently form fine depressions and protrusions on a sheet selected from an inkjet sheet, a thermosensitive recording sheet, a heat developing sheet, an electrophotographic sheet, and a silver halide photographic sheet, and an image-forming apparatus incorporating this surface treatment apparatus, are provided. For this purpose, a surface treatment apparatus incorporating a sheet heating unit which heats a sheet having at least a thermoplastic resin layer, and a sheet depression and protrusion-forming unit disposed on the downstream process side of the sheet heating unit which forms depressions and protrusions on the thermoplastic resin layer, is provided.

A supply such as an ink tank or the like, which is mounted on an image recording apparatus, includes a recording section in which encoded information created by encoding identification information by a secret key is recorded, and the encoded information is decoded by a decoding key provided with the image recording apparatus and then checked. With this arrangement, it can be advantageously prevented that the supply such as the ink tank or the like is mounted on the image recording apparatus by mistake, whereby the deterioration of image quality, the trouble of the image recording apparatus and the like caused by the supply mounted by mistake can be prevented.

A digital still camera is provided with a data communication section which transfers image data of a picture frame photographed by the digital still camera to a printing equipment through a radio telephony channel each time the picture frame is photographed. The data communication section sends ID data consisting of a user ID number and a frame ID number and print order data as along with the image data. In the printing equipment, the received image data and ID data is stored as database in a memory. Based on the image data read from the database, a printer makes hard copies in conditions designated by the print order data. The hard copies are delivered to a place appointed by the print order data.

System for transferring image data from a camera to a printing system

The liquid ejection apparatus includes nozzles formed in a member provided on one side of a substrate, droplet ejection units each of which corresponds to one of the nozzles, and which are formed on a surface of the one side of the substrate, individual flow paths each of which feeds liquid to one of the nozzles, and which are formed on the one side of the substrate, one or more front surface feed paths for feeding liquid correspondingly to the individual flow paths and one or more back surface feed paths communicating with the one or more front surface feed paths. The one or more front surface feed paths are formed by etching process from the surface of the one side of the substrate and the one or more back surface feed paths are formed by sandblast process from a surface of another side of the substrate. The inkjet printer includes the liquid ejection apparatus as the inkjet print head.

Liquid ejection apparatus and inkjet printer, and method of manufacturing them

An object of the present invention is forming a concave portion (including a penetration hole) in a semiconductor substrate by a sandblast method without causing electrostatic breakdown. In order to achieve the object, in a wafer in which at least two chips are formed, metal films are formed at least in the vicinity of circumferential portions of regions in which the concave portions (including penetration holes) of the respective chips are to be formed. In addition, the metal films are extended from the vicinity of the circumferential portions to ends of the respective corresponding chips. Further, the metal films are connected with each other through regions between the chips. The entire surface of the wafer including the metal films is masked, except for the regions in which the concave portions of the respective chips are to be formed. At least a portion of the metal films is grounded and then the concave portions are formed in the respective chips formed on the wafer by the sandblast method.

Semiconductor device and method of manufacturing the same

The head position detecting method is applicable to recording with a line head including a plurality of short heads which are arranged in a direction of arrangement of recording elements. The method makes relative movements of the line head and a recording medium in a direction perpendicular to the arrangement direction as at least one pair of first and second short heads adjacent to each other which constitute the line head are operated to perform first recording with at least one recording element on an adjacent side of the first short head and second recording with at least one recording element on an adjacent side of the second short head, thereby obtaining a first and/or second recording patterns and detects, from the first and/or second recording patterns obtained, relative first and/or second positions of the first and second short heads adjacent to each other in the arrangement direction and/or the perpendicular direction. The recording head includes a memory for storing data representing a relationship between the second positions. The image recording apparatus implements the method and/or includes the recording head. The storage medium is loaded with a program executing the above method.

Image forming apparatus

A line head, includes a plurality of short heads, each of which has an array of recording elements arranged in one direction, disposed in the direction of arrangement, wherein the short heads that are adjacent to each other in the direction of arrangement are located at a different position in a direction normal to the direction of arrangement as well as an interval between a recording element of one of said two short heads and a recording element of the other short head, which two elements are adjacent to each other in said direction of arrangement, is set equal to or less than the proper arrangement pitch of the recording elements when viewed from the auxiliary scanning direction. Further, when an image is scanned and recorded using this line head, the driving of the recording elements are controlled according to the proper arrangement pitch of the recording elements and the interval as above in the joint region of two short heads adjacent to each other. With this arrangement, the short heads can easily be arranged and put into registration with each other, whereby a manufacturing process can be simplified, the line head can be fabricated at low cost, and further an image recording method capable of recording an image of high quality by means of this line head can be provided.

Line head and image recording method

An ink jet printer forms an image frame in a continuous recording sheet at a size PL with reference to a feeding direction. The continuous recording sheet includes plural recording sheets, and a splicing portion for splicing the plural recording sheets to one another in one line. In ink jet printing, the image frame is printed to the continuous recording sheet with a printing bead while the continuous recording sheet is fed in the feeding direction. It is detected whether the splicing portion comes past a predetermined position upstream from the printing head at a distance L1. The printing head is inhibited from printing the image frame if an unavailable region including the splicing portion is estimated to overlap on a region of the image frame according to a detection signal from the detecting step.

Ink jet printer, ink jet printing method and continuous recording sheet

An image forming method and apparatus for ejecting plural inks having different densities and/or colors from an ink ejection port while changing a mixture proportion of the plural inks based on an image signal. The ejected plural inks are transported to a moving image receiving medium such as print paper to form an image. A quantity of flow of the respective ink is controlled in such a manner that a total ejected volume flow rate of the plural inks is always maintained constant. The condition for transporting the ink liquid consisting of plural inks led to the image receiving medium is satisfied, and the smooth and highly-accurate transportation is enabled, thereby the image quality can be improved. The ejected plural inks may be transported from the ink ejection port as a continuous fluid flow to the image receiving medium, i.e., the continuous coating mode. In such mode, the image receiving medium may be a drum-like or belt-like intermediate image for receiving and temporarily holding the image formed by the ejected plural inks. The ink ejection ports may be separately provided in accordance with pixels aligned in the width direction of the image receiving medium.

Image forming method and apparatus

The liquid droplet ejecting apparatus includes an ejecting head having a plurality of nozzles for ejecting liquid droplets and a plurality of liquid droplet ejecting devices arranged in correspondence with the plurality of nozzles, respectively, and driven with modulation in response to signals, a detection unit for detecting a condition of a virtual surface opposed to the ejecting head or an angle detection unit for detecting an angle made by a direction, in which liquid droplets are ejected from at least a part of the plurality of nozzles of the ejecting head, and a preset reference direction, and a unit for prohibiting liquid droplet ejection from at least a part of the plurality of nozzles of the ejecting head depending on a result of detection by the detection unit or an angle detected by the angle detection unit.
