Heat-sensitive recording medium

A heat-sensitive recording material comprises a recording layer formed on a base sheet where the recording layer comprises a colorless or pale colored basic chromogenic material, a color developing material which develops a color by contacting with said chromogenic material, and a stabilizer. The recording layer comprises at least one selected from the group consisitng of 3-(N-methyl-N-cyclohexyl)amino-6-methyl-7-phenylaminofluoran, 3-diethylamino-6-methyl-7-phenylaminofluoran and 3-(N-ethyl-N-tetrahydrofurfuryl)amino-6-methyl-7-phenylaminofluoran together with 3-di(n-butyl)amino-6-methyl-7-phenylaminofluoran as the chromogenic material, and at least one selected from the group consisting of 1,1,3-tris(3-cyclohexyl-4-hydroxy-6-methylphenyl)butane, 1,1,3-tris(2-methyl-4-hydroxy-5-tert-butylphenyl)butane and 4,4'-cyclohexylidenediphenol as the stabilizer, so that a heat-sensitive recording material in which both of the brightness of the background area and the optical density of the recorded images are stably maintained under high temperature condition can be obtained.

Heat-sensitive recording material

A heat sensitive recording material comprising a substrate and a heat sensitive recording layer thereon incorporating a colorless or light-colored basic dye and a color acceptor reactive with the dye to form a color when contacted therewith, the recording material being characterized in that the material has a heat sensitive recording layer having incorporated therein (1) a heat-fusible substance exhibiting a weight reduction of at least 5% at 200.degree. C. based on the weight at 25.degree. C. under the condition of 20.degree. C./min in the rate of rise of temperature, (2) a wax, (3) a lubricant, and (4) an oil-absorbing pigment at least 85 ml/100 g in oil absorption.

A process for preparing a diphenylalkene derivative of the formula [II] ##STR1## which comprises oxidizing a diphenylalkanoic acid derivative of the formula [I] ##STR2## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are each substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, substituted or unsubstituted alkenyl, substituted or unsubstituted alkynyl, substituted or unsubstituted cycloalkyl, substituted or unsubstituted aralkyl or substituted or unsubstituted aryl, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 may form a heteroring together theirwith or with an adjacent benzene ring, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5, R.sub.6, R.sub.7, R.sub.8, R.sub.9, R.sub.10 and R.sub.11 are each hydrogen atom, halogen atom, substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, substituted or unsubstituted hydroxyl or substituted or unsubstituted amino, R.sub.12 and R.sub.13 are each hydrogen atom or substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, X is carboxyl, amide, ester or halide thereof.

Process for preparing diphenylalkene derivatives

In a heat-sensitive recording material comprising on a substrate a recording layer containing a colorless or pale-colored basic dye and an electron accepting reactant material, the heat-sensitive recording material which is characterized in that the basic dye comprises at least one chromeno compound represented by the formula [I] below ##STR1## wherein G and R.sub.1 .about.R.sub.4 are defined in the specification.

Heat-sensitive recording material using chromeno compound

In a heat-sensitive recording material incorporating a colorless or pale-colored basic dye and a color acceptor which is reactive with the dye to form a color when contacted therewith, the recording material characterized in that (a) as the basic dye are used 100 parts by weight of a specific phthalide derivative of the formula [I] and 20 to 100 parts by weight of a specific black color-forming fluoran derivative of the formula [II], (b) as the color acceptor is used a polyvalent metal salt of an aromatic carboxylic acid and (c) a recording sensitizer is further used, and whereby the resulting record images are at least 0.75 in PCS value at 800 nm.

In a heat-sensitive recording material which comprises a substrate and a heat-sensitive recording layer thereon containing a diazonium salt and coupler compound, the heat-sensitive recording material characterized in that the coupler compound comprises at least one compound represented by the formula [I] below ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5, R.sub.6, R.sub.7 and R.sub.8 are each hydrogen atom, halogen atom, alkyl or alkoxyl; R.sub.9 is hydrogen atom or alkyl; X and Y are each hydrogen atom, --OR.sub.10 or --N(R.sub.11)(R.sub.12), R.sub.10, R.sub.11 and R.sub.12 being each hydrogen atom, alkyl, alicyclic group, aryl or aralkyl, these R.sub.10, R.sub.11 and R.sub.12 may have a substituent selected from among halogen atom, alkyl and alkoxy, R.sub.11 and R.sub.12 may link together to form a heteroring, or, one or both of R.sub.11 and R.sub.12 may form a heteroring together with an adjacent benzene ring; n is 0 or 1.

Heat-sensitive diazo recording material with diphenyl alkene coupler

In a heat-sensitive recording material comprising a colorless or pale-colored basic dye and an electron accepting reactant material which is reactive with the basic dye to form a color when contacted therewith, and comprising at least one of the specific phthalide derivatives as the basic dye, the heat-sensitive recording material characterized in that at least one compound selected from the group consisting of the specific fluorene derivatives and the specific p-phenylenediamine derivatives is further contained in the recording material.

A new phthalide derivative useful as a colorless chromogenic material has the general formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 to R.sub.10, X.sub.1, X.sub.2, Y.sub.1, Y.sub.2, Z, a and b have the same meaning as defined hereinbefore.

Recording system utilizing phthalide derivatives as colorless

Disclosed is a heat-sensitive recording material comprising a base sheet and a heat-sensitive record layer formed over the base sheet and comprising a colorless or pale-colored basic dye and a color developing material capable of forming a color when contacted with the dye, the heat-sensitive recording material being characterized in that the heat-sensitive record layer contains as the color developing material at least one multi-valent metal salt of an indole-2-carboxylic acid derivative represented by the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 through R.sub.6 are hydrogen or other substituent. The heat-sensitive recording material is resistant to plasticizer and diazo developer, and also is suitable for high-speed recording.

A new phthalide derivative useful as a colorless chromogenic material has the following formula: ##STR1## wherein A and n have the same meaning as defined hereinbefore.

Phthalide derivatives useful as colorless chromogenic material

A pressure sensitive manifold sheet characterized in that a chelate record material comprising an iron (III) compound and/or a vanadium compound, and an aromatic compound having at least one of hydroxyl group and mercapto group on the aromatic ring in combination therewith is used further in combination with an infrared absorbing organic compound.

Phthalide derivatives and recording system utilizing the same

A record material utilizing the color forming reaction between a substantially colorless chromogenic material and an electron accepting reactant material is disclosed. The colorless chromogenic material used comprises a mixture of the first component consisting of at least one specified phthalide compound having two vinyl linkages and the second component of another kind of chromogenic material which is different from said first component. The first component of the chromogenic material is used in an amount of 5 to 80%, preferably 7 to 50%, by weight with respect to the amount of the second component and in such an amount that the reflectance at any wavelength within the range of 580 nm to 880 nm, preferably within the range of 500 to 880 nm of color images developed by said color forming reaction is less by at least 55% than that of said record material before color developing.
