Silicone composition for forming a release coating

This invention relates to a silicone release coating composition comprising an organopolysiloxane having at least 2 alkenyl groups in each molecule, an organopolysiloxane having at least 3 silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms in each molecule, a carbon-carbon triple bond-functional alcohol having a boiling point at ambient pressure of at least 140.degree. C., an organosilicon compound having at least 3 carbon-carbon triple bond-functional hydrocarbon groups bonded across oxygen to silicon, and a platinum catalyst. The silicone release coating compositions of this invention have excellent bath stability, form a very stable thin film on applicator rolls, cure rapidly even at relatively low temperatures, have stable curing characteristics during the course of bath aging, and exhibit stable release values during the course of bath aging.

Silicone release coating compositions

The present invention relates to a curable silicone release coating composition comprising a mixture of an organopolysiloxane containing at least two alkenyl groups per compound, an organohydrogensilicon compound, inhibitors having a boiling point of up to 130.degree. C. at atmospheric pressure, inhibitors having a boiling point of at least 170.degree. C. at atmospheric pressure a platinum group metal-containing catalyst, and optionally a diluent. The silicone release coating compositions are stable when stored at room temperature, especially when the composition is used on a coating roll for the production of a thin films. The compositions of this invention also quickly form a cured film having good release properties for adhesive materials at a comparatively low temperatures.

The present invention relates to a silicone composition comprising (A) a silicone release coating composition and (B) an organosilicon compound having the general formula ##STR1## where R.sup.1 is a monovalent hydrocarbon group, R.sup.2 is an alkylene group, R.sup.3 is a hydrogen atom, an alkenyl group, or a hydroxyl group, m has a value of zero or greater, and n has a value of greater than zero which cures to form a release coating. The silicone release coating compositions of this invention give a cured release coating which exhibits optimal release values against lucky substances and which does not impair the residual adhesion of tacky substances.

The release film-forming organopolysiloxane composition in accordance with the present invention is characterized by its ability to cure rapidly at relatively low temperatures not exceeding 100.degree. C. to yield a cured film that is strongly adherent for the surface of various types of substrates (e.g., synthetic films, paper, polyethylene-laminated paper, etc.) and that also exhibits excellent release properties for tacky substances.

Organopolysiloxane composition for the formation of cured release films

The instant invention pertains to an organopolysiloxane composition for the formation of a cured release film wherein said organopolysiloxane composition cures rapidly under exposure to ultraviolet radiation to form a cured film that tightly adheres to various types of supports or base materials. The instant invention pertains to an organopolysiloxane composition for the formation of a release film, that has a high curing rate at relatively low temperatures (.ltoreq.100.degree. C.) and that forms a cured film that both adheres strongly to various types of substrates and is highly releasing for tacky or sticky substances. The organopolysiloxane composition for the formation of a cured release film of the instant invention comprises (A) organopolysiloxane that contains in each molecule at least 2 alkenyl groups with the general formula H.sub.2 C.dbd.CH--(CH.sub.2).sub.n --, wherein n=2 to 8; (B) an organohydrogenpolysiloxane that contains in each molecule at least 2 silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms and at least 1 alkenyl group with the general formula H.sub.2 C.dbd.CH--(CH.sub.2).sub.n --, wherein n=2 to 8; (C) an addition-reaction inhibitor; (D) platinum group metal catalyst; and optionally (E) a nonreactive organopolysiloxane that contains neither silicon-bonded alkenyl nor silicon-bonded hydrogen.

An adhesive release composition containing specific amounts of an organopolysiloxane bearing oxyalkylene groups and alkenyl groups, an organohydrogenpolysiloxane, and a platinum-type catalyst is characterized by the formation, on various base surfaces, of a release surface having an excellent printability and a stable release force. For example, a roll of pressure sensitive adhesive tape of this invention can be easily unrolled, durably adhered to an article and clearly printed with ink on its adhesive-releasing surface which bears the release composition of this invention.

Releasable film forming compositions

Room temperature-storable, heat-curable organopolysiloxane compositions which comprise silicon-bonded vinyl radicals, silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms, a platinum-type compound and an unsaturated hydrocarbon compound of the conjugated ene-yen type provide a realease surface for tacky substances when coated onto the surface of a base material and heated, even mildly. The release surface possesses a time-stable release ability, particularly for pressure sensitive adhesive bearing articles such as tapes and labels.

Peellable film-forming organopolysiloxane compositions

The present invention provides a releasable film forming composition comprising (1) an organopolysiloxane having hydroxyl groups at the ends of the molecular chain, (2) a finely divided silica, (3) a phenyl-containing organosilane or organopolysiloxane, (4) an organohydrogenpolysiloxane containing at least three SiH groups per molecule, (5) a metallic salt of an organic acid and (6) an organic solvent, and a process for preparing same, as well as a releasable film forming composition comprising (1) an organopolysiloxane containing at least two silicon atom-bonded alkenyl groups per molecule, (2) a finely divided silica, (3) a phenyl-containing organosilane or organopolysiloxane, (4) an organohydrogenpolysiloxane containing at least two SiH groups per molecule, (5) a platinic compound and (6) an organic solvent, and a process for preparing same. These compositions exhibit a superior printability and a stable releasability from adhesive materials and are less slippery.

Solventless organopolysiloxane compositions are disclosed which, when coated on a substrate and cured, will release adhesives with moderate force. These compositions are useful for coating flexible substrates such as paper, laminated paper, synthetic film and metal foil which are used as wrapping paper for asphalt, tapes, labels, etc. These compositions consist essentially of a mixture of a low-viscosity, vinyl-containing organopolysiloxane, an organohydrogenpolysiloxane, a vinyl-containing organosiloxane copolymer resin and a hydrosilylation catalyst.
