Load control system

A power conversion device includes an inverter which can convert between DC and AC power by turning on and off bridge-connected semiconductor switching elements with free wheel diodes connected in reverse parallel; and a rotating electric machine, such as an AC generator or motor, which is connected to the AC terminals of the inverter, where when the DC voltage of the inverter is below a specified value when starting the machine, the speed of the machine is detected in a condition where the DC voltage of the inverter is boosted to at least a specified value of the induced voltage of the machine, by intermittently turning on and off at least one of the switching elements, so as to accurately detect the speed of the machine and stably start it even when the DC voltage of the inverter is lower than the induced voltage of the machine.

Power conversion device and method of controlling the same

An alternating current rotating machine control device that shares information among power conversion devices and instruments. A power conversion system has a top level control device, a master station, multiple power conversion devices, instruments (such as a temperature sensor and a pressure sensor), and the like. The top level control device is connected to two of the power conversion devices by a first communication line. These power conversion devices have two or more communication functions, and are connected to a remaining power conversion device, a temperature sensor, and a pressure sensor by a second communication line.
