[PROBLEMS] To reduce the generation of fume in cutting a material to be cut typified by a steel plate with plasma. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A plasma cutting method comprising spraying a plasma arc directed through a material to be cut from a plasma torch nozzle to cut the cutting material, wherein a plasma arc formed by supplying a mixed gas as a plasma gas composed of a single gas or a plurality of gases selected from halogen gases and rare gases belonging to up to the second row elements of the periodic table and a hydrogen gas, and oxygen-, argon- or nitrogen-containing gas to a part around an electrode, and electrifying a part between the electrode and the nozzle or between the electrode and the cutting material is sprayed toward the cutting material to cut the cutting material, or wherein a single gas or a plurality of gases selected from halogen gases or rare gases belonging to up to the second row elements of the periodic table and a hydrogen gas, together with the plasma arc composed mainly of an oxygen, argon or nitrogen gas, is sprayed toward the cutting material to cut the cutting material.

Plasma cutting method for cutting a carbon steel plate and for reducing fine particles

A display panel is provided with a solar cell, a light transmitting substrate arranged on a side of the solar cell to be seen, and a reflective polarizing plate. An uneven pattern is arranged on at least one surface of the reflective polarizing plate. The pattern desirably has concave and convex shape formed on at least one surface of the reflective polarizing plate. The respective concave and convex patterns may be different from each other. The reflective polarizing plate is provided with a light reflection axis and a light transmission easy axis.

One object of the present invention is to monitor water pipes regularly and to detect water leaks by using basic equipment and to provide a device that generates an alarm when a leak occurs. The present invention responds not only to minor leaks that occur naturally because, for instance, a water pipe is decrepit, but also responds to human-caused leaks, such as those that occur because a person forgets to turn off a water faucet or because of the failure of equipment such as a hot-water heater. The present invention is a leak-detection alarm system that is composed of two main parts: (1) a leak-detecting check valve that detects movements of a movable device that makes the same movement as the valve element of a check valve that is attached to a water pipe and performs switching, and that transmits as detection signals the movement of valve elements, and (2) a signal-processing device that analyzes detection signals transmitted by the leak-detecting check valve and actuates a leak-detection alarm. The leak-detecting check valve has a main valve and an ancillary valve. The main valve operates in response to a high rate of flow of fluid through the pipe, such as occurs when there is a large leak that corresponds to said human-cause leaks, and the ancillary valve operates in response to low rate of flow of fluid through a pipe, such as occurs when there is a small leak that occurs naturally.

An indicating plate for a solar watch, comprising a color diffusion plate which, by virtue of the presence of a coloring agent, a coloring light diffusing agent, a colored translucent substrate, a pattern layer/colored thin film layer and a diffusion layer, is adapted to transmit a portion of light having a wavelength within a range capable of causing a solar cell housed under the indicating plate to generate power. A compound having the formula: ##STR1## wherein Ring A is monohydroxyphenyl, or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof is prepared by catalytic hydrogenation of a compound having the formula: ##STR2## wherein A' is monobenzyloxyphenyl, and Y is carbonyl or hydroxymethylene. The compound (I) in which Ring A is 4-hydroxyphenyl or 3-hydroxyphenyl is useful as a cardiotonic agent. On the other hand, the compound (I) in which Ring A is 2-hydroxyphenyl is useful as an anti-diabetic agent.
