A surface finishing composition used for coating therewith a surface of an artificial leather or synthetic resin sheet or a surface of plastic product to provide the surface with the touch of suede, which comprises synthetic resin mainly composed of polyurethane resin, and powdered polyamino acid resin and silica which are dissolved or dispersed in an organic solvent. The finished surface is stronger against scratch, leaves less finger marks and provides better feel and appearance as compared with the prior art.

A latent curing agent for epoxy resin, characterized in that the latent curing agent is an adduct obtained by reacting (a) a polyfunctional epoxy compound, (b) a compound having at least one OH, NH.sub.2, NH or SH group together with a tertiary amino group in the molecule and (c) a carboxylic acid anhydride is a good curing agent for epoxy resins. The present curing agent is useful in formulating storable, one-package, heat-curable epoxy resin-based compositions.

Latent curing agents for epoxy resins

A latent curing agent for epoxy resin, characterized in that the latent curing agent is the hydrazides of the formula (I) or (II). ##STR1## The present curing agent is useful in formulating storable, one-package, heat-curable epoxy resin-based compositions.

An addition product obtained by reacting (a) a polyfunctional epoxy compound and (b) a compound having at least one functional group of OH group, SH group, COOH group and CONHNH.sub.2 group together with a tertiary amino group in the molecule, and an addition product obtained (a), (b) and (c) an organic compound having two or more active hydrogen atoms in the molecule (excluding a compound having an epoxy group or tertiary amino group) are good curing agents for epxoy resin. The curing agents are useful in formulating novel storable one-package, heat-curable epoxy resin-based compositions.

Hydrazides of the formula ##STR1## are good curing agents for epoxy resin, in the formula R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 being each hydrogen atom, C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl radical or --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 SCH.sub.3, R being hydrogen atom or methyl radical. The curing agents are useful in formulating novel storable one-package, heat-curable epoxy resins-based compositions.

Hydrazides of the formula ##STR1## are good curing agents for epoxy resin, wherein in the formula, X is an aromatic hydrocarbon residue of dihydric phenol, ##STR2## The curing agents are useful in formulating novel storable one-package, heat-curable epoxy resin-based compositions.

A stabilized halogen-containing resin composition which comprises (A) a halogen-containing resin, (B) at least one of methionine derivatives selected from the group consisting of compounds having the following structural formula (I) to (III) ##STR1## and (C) at least one of stabilizers selected from the group consisting of alkaline earth metal, zinc and organo tin compounds.
