An electromagnetic relay structure having a plate spring and a yoke secured to a base by forming a vibration damping portion integral with a terminal and by securing the terminal to the base by insertion molding. The vibration damping portion is disposed between an L-shaped yoke, an end of which is secured to the base, and the terminal, which is also fixed to the base. The vibration damping portion is spot welded to a plate spring, which is secured to the yoke. A spot welding machine is provided for fixing the plate spring to the vibration damping portion. The spot welding machine has electrodes that are rotated by motors while effecting spot welding of the material.

An electromagnetic relay structure which includes a bobbin 1 having a coil 5 wound therearound. A coil terminal 6 is electrically connected with an end 5a of the coil 5. A base 4 is insert-formed with a terminal 8, 9. The coil terminal 6 has a first end firmly attached to a flange 1c of the bobbin 1 and a second end connected to the terminal 8, 9. A projecting piece 6a is formed in a generally central portion of the coil terminal 6. The projecting piece 6a is bent with an end 5a of the coil 5 twined therearound, to thereby support the end 5a of the coil 5. Another flange 1a of the bobbin 1 is fixed to the base 4 by fitting a projecting rod 1b of the flange 1a to a fitting groove 4a of the base 4.

Electromagnetic relay structure

An electromagnetic relay, having a core 3 fixed by press-fitting in a yoke 4, which is facilitated in attaching operation and eliminated of the possibility, during press-fitting, of being placed in poor contact by metal chips produced by cutting away the yoke 4 by the core 3. The core 3 is provided with a smaller diameter portion 3c at an end portion and is inserted into a center of a bobbin 1 having a coil 2 wound therearound. A cutout 5 is formed in the yoke 4 so as to receive by press-fitting the smaller diameter portion 3c of the core 3. First slant surfaces 6 are formed in the edge of an opening of the cutout 5 such that the wall thickness becomes thinner toward the opening. Second slant surfaces 7 are provided in the form of curved surfaces at the terminal ends of the first slant surfaces in a manner smoothly continuing to a general surface of the yoke 4 and also to the first slant surfaces 6. The terminal ends of the second slant surfaces 7 are positioned on a diametrical center line of the core 3 when the core 3 is attached to the yoke 4.
