An outboard motor has an under cover forming a lower part of an engine room in which an engine is installed. The under cover has a pair of right and left cover members detachably connected together along opposing vertical edges thereof; an opening formed in at least one of the cover members for allowing access to the engine. The opening is vertically spaced from an upper edge of the under cover and extends contiguously from the vertical edge of the at least one cover member. A lid made of elastic material is attached to an outer surface of the under cover so as to close the opening of the under cover, the lid being elastically deformable to open and close the opening.

Outboard motor

An outboard engine comprises: a power unit including a body structure, an engine ( ) disposed in an upper portion of the body structure, a propeller shaft ( ) supported for rotation on a lower portion of the body structure so as to be driven by the engine ( ), and a cowling ( ) detachably attached to the body structure so as to cover the engine ( ) from above and to defining a part of an engine room ( ). A tilt bracket ( ) connected to the body structure of the power unit is connected pivotally to a stern bracket ( ) clamped to a boat by a tilt shaft ( ). The cowling ( ) is provided integrally with a tilt handle ( ) to be gripped by hand when tilting the power unit, and an air inlet structure ( ) through which air is introduced into the engine room ( ).

Outboard engine

An outboard motor has a first case member and a second case member connected to the first case member to form an enclosure having an inner space in which is mounted an engine. The first case member has an air intake hole for taking air into the inner space and a vent hole for exhausting the air after it circulates in the inner space to cool the interior of the inner space. An alternator is disposed in the inner space of the enclosure and has a hollow casing, air passage holes formed in the hollow casing, and cooling fans for drawing air from the air passage holes into the hollow casing to cool the alternator. A cover member is disposed in the inner space of the enclosure and covers at least a portion of the alternator. The cover member has a vent hole communicating with the vent hole of the first case member, an upper wall, a side wall extending from the upper wall and surrounding the portion of the alternator, and air passage holes formed in the side wall for introducing air therethrough into the cover member and through the air passage holes of the alternator hollow casing to cool the alternator before the air is discharged from the vent hole of the cover member. An electric equipment box is disposed in the engine room at a position intermediate the air intake hole of the engine cover and the alternator.

A vertical internal combustion engine in which lubricating oil can be cooled efficiently is provided. The engine includes a crankshaft directed in a vertical direction, a lubricating oil pump, an oil filter and a cooling water pump. A lubricating oil passage is arranged along a side wall of a main body of the engine and extends between the lubricating oil pump and the oil filter, a cooling water chamber is formed around the lubricating oil passage, and a branch water passage communicating with the cooling water chamber branches at a discharge side of the cooling water pump from a cooling water passage leading into the main body of the engine.

Vertical internal combustion engine

An outboard engine construction in which an engine is mounted at the upper end of an extension case provided with a stern bracket adapted to be clamped to a stern plate of a vessel and a gear case having a rotatable propeller is connected to the lower end of the extension case. A drive shaft connected to a crank shaft of the engine is housed within the extension case and a drives a gear assembly connected to the propeller. The extension case is constituted by a primary upper case portion and a selectively removable auxiliary lower case portion. A transmission is contained in the auxiliary case portion and is detachably interposed therewith between the drive shaft and the gear assembly.

Outboard engine construction adapted for use with deep draft and shallow

An elevating apparatus for a working vehicle includes separate front lifting and rear lifting mechanisms that can be elevated by hydraulic cylinders, a feedback rod arranged between a link arm of one of the lifting mechanisms and a hydraulic pressure control apparatus for controlling the hydraulic cylinders. A change-over lever selects the front lifting mechanism or the rear lifting mechanism, and an elevating lever controls elevation of the lifting mechanisms. When one of the lifting mechanisms is selected and elevated by operation of the change-over lever, the elevating lever is operated normally without causing abutment between an adjuster member attached to the feedback rod that is interactive with the elevating lever, and an interactive member of the elevating lever. A return mechanism between the change-over lever and the elevating lever enables the elevating lever to be returned to the neutral position when selecting one of the front and rear lifting mechanisms. By suitably changing the attached position of a feedback rod with respect to a hydraulic pressure control apparatus, a change-over lever can be attached dismountably to the hydraulic pressure control apparatus, and only one of the hydraulic cylinders can be operated, or both the hydraulic cylinders can be operated alternatively.
