A vibration-damping material with excellent workability consisting of two metal plates and a vibration-damping layer of a thermoplastic resin interposed between the two metal plates, in which the vibration-damping layer of a thermoplastic resin consists of a film as a middle layer and a polyolefin type resin (B) provided on both sides of the film as an upper and lower layer, the film as the middle layer being composed of (1) at least one resin (A) selected from the group consisting of polyolefin type resins and ionomer resins each having a modulus of elasticity in shear at 20.degree. C. of 3.times.10.sup.9 to 1.times.10.sup.7 dyne/cm.sup.2, a percentage of elongation at 20.degree. C. of 50% or above and a peak temperature of dissipation factor (tan .delta.) of -120.degree. C. to 80.degree. C. or (2) a resin mixture of the resin (A) and a synthetic rubber having a percentage of elongation at 20.degree. C. of 100% or above and a peak temperature of dissipation factor (tan .delta.) of -120.degree. to 50.degree. C., and the polyolefin type resin (B) having a modulus of elasticity in shear at 20.degree. C. larger than that of the resin (A), a percentage of elongation at 20.degree. C. of 10% or above, a peak temperature of dissipation factor (tan .delta.) of -40.degree. to 180.degree. C. and a bonding strength toward the metal plates at 20.degree. C. and 180.degree. -peeling of 3 kg/cm or above.

An infrared radiation absorbing film suitable for agricultural purposes comprising a first layer of olefin resin containing an amorphous hydrated aluminosilicate gel and optionally, additional layers of an olefin resin encompassing said first layer.

An agricultural plastic film improved in retention of infrared radiation which comprises an olefin resin film produced by forming a composition comprising 100 parts by weight of an olefin resin (A) and 2 to 25 parts by weight of a compound oxide (B) comprising SiO.sub.2 and at least one member of the oxides of metals selected from Groups II, III and IV of the periodic table, the ratio of the refractive index (n.sub.A) of said olefin resin to that (n.sub.B) of said compound oxide, n.sub.A /n.sub.B, being within a range of 0.99 to 1.02, into film.

Agricultural plastic film

An ethylene-.alpha.-olefin copolymer composition comprising two ethylene-.alpha.-olefin copolymers which are different in density, intrinsic viscosity and the number of short chain branching per 1000 carbon atoms. Extrusion processed materials, injection molded materials and films obtained from said composition are excellent in strength.

A method for the orientation of a thermoplastic polyether ether ketone film or sheet is described, which comprises rolling the thermoplastic polyether ether ketone film or sheet containing therein a repeating unit represented by the formula: ##STR1## singly or in combination with one or more different repeating units at a linear pressure of at least 100 kg/cm by the use of at least one pair of pressure rolls maintained within a temperature range of from 80.degree. C. to 320.degree. C. while applying a backward tension of at least 80 kg/cm.sup.2.

Disclosed is a method for continuous extrusion coating of a hollow core material with a highly expanded polyolefin resin, which is characterized by subjecting an extruded molten mass of an expandable polyolefin resin to external cooling at the point at which said molten mass begins to foam and supplying said hollow core material with the surface temperature thereof kept below the softening point of said polyolefin resin for thereby enhancing the fastness of adhesion of the highly expanded polyolefin foam with the hollow core material and at the same time facilitating the release of the two materials thus joined.

When a thermoplastic resin sheet such as polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, ABS or polyvinyl chloride resin sheet which contains 0 - 80 % by weight of an inorganic filler and has a foaming ratio (a) of 1 or 1 &lt; a .ltoreq. 4 and which satisfies the relation 130 .gtoreq. 20a + b .gtoreq. 30 (wherein 'a' is the foaming ratio and 'b' is amount of the inorganic filler) is pressed onto a matrix in such a manner that the thickness of said resin sheet before pressing is larger than the thickness of the convex portions of the resultant resin relief plate, thus obtained relief plate has excellent printability.
