A proximity sensor includes a sense electrode having a first capacitance to ground, wherein the first capacitance varies in response to proximity of an object to be sensed; a first sense circuit which provides a first pulse signal having a pulse width determined in accordance with the first capacitance; a reference capacitor; a second sense circuit which provides a second pulse signal having a pulse width determined in accordance with a second capacitance of the reference capacitor; and a computing circuit which computes a difference pulse by subtracting the second pulse signal from the first pulse signal and provide a pulse of the difference pulse width.

Proximity sensor and proximity sensing method

A seat for a vehicle includes: a detecting sensor detecting an occupant having a planar antenna electrode, at which electric filed is generated, and a ground electrode arranged with a clearance along an outer periphery of the antenna electrode. The antenna electrode can be provided with a hole at the center of the antenna electrode.

A head rest of a vehicle seat may include a head support portion for supporting a head of a passenger, and a drive unit for moving the head support portion. The drive unit has a moving mechanism that is arranged and constructed to move the head support portion vertically and back and forth relative to the vehicle seat, a head detecting device provided to the head support portion so as to detect a clearance between the passenger head and the head support portion and to generate a control signal representative of the detected clearance, and a controller that can control the moving mechanism. The controller controls the moving mechanism so as to move the head support portion to a first proximity position in which the head detecting device may have a predetermined sensitivity relative to passenger head if the head support portion does not reach the first proximity position. The controller further controls the moving mechanism based on the control signal from the head detecting device so as to move the head support portion to a second proximity position which corresponds to an optimal proximity position relative to the passenger head.

A vehicular illuminator having a design board, behind which a sensing electrode having an aperture is located. Arranged between the design board and the sensing electrode is an LED serving as a light source and a light guide plate to defuse light from the LED. The sensing electrode is connected to an electrostatic capacity detector contained in a controller.

A hybrid sensor is formed by stacking a plurality of flexible sheets each provided with electrode patterns. The hybrid sensor includes a contact pressure sensor which has switches turning on or off by a pressure load, and an electrostatic capacitance sensor which detects a nearby object without contacting the object. The electrode patterns include a switching electrode pattern as the switch of the contact pressure sensor and a detecting electrode pattern as the detecting electrode of the electrostatic capacitance sensor. The detecting electrode is formed to cover substantially the entire area other than the area on which the switching electrode pattern is formed.

A dome-shaped diaphragm includes a convex portion; a base portion provided on an outer periphery of the convex portion; and a pressing force reducing portion provided in at least one of the convex portion and the base portion. Examples of the pressing force reducing portion may be a hole portion, a reduced thickness portion or any other feature that reduces the pressing force.

An electrical capacitance proximity sensor with high detector sensitivity has an insulating substrate, a detector electrode and an earth electrode formed in a fixed pattern on one face of the insulating substrate, and a detector circuit which detects an object approaching the detector electrode and the earth electrode by detecting the capacitance between the detector electrode and the earth electrode. The detector electrode is formed in a shape such that it surrounds the earth electrode.

Electrical capacitance proximity sensor

The junction box housing of a junction box is provided with a strip portion containing portion which contains a lateral edge of a strip portion where a terminal connecting portion of a flexible printed circuit is contained in the inside and a terminal containing hole arranged at the outside of the strip-shaped portion containing portion which contains a first connecting terminal. Thus, the first connecting terminal and the strip portion can be contained in the junction box housing with the terminal connecting portion bent to show an S-shaped profile so that the junction box main body can be made lightweight and low-profiled to realize downsizing.

There is disclosed a junction box including a junction box main body to which an electric component to be connected is attached, a connector portion, formed separately from the junction box main body, for connecting a connector of an outer wiring circuit, and a cable portion which includes a flexible printed circuit with a circuit portion including a conductor pattern formed on an insulating film, and electrically connects the junction box main body to the connector portion. With respect to an attachment position of one of the connector portion and junction box main body, an attachment position of the other can freely be changed.

There is disclosed a junction box including a junction box main body, a connector portion, and a cable portion which connects the junction box main body to the connector portion. Terminal connecting portions are formed to extend from opposite side edges of a strip portion of a flexible printed circuit constituting the cable portion in a short direction of the strip portion, and are connected to first to third connecting terminals. The third connecting terminal is connected to a desired connecting terminal connecting portion of a circuit distribution wiring circuit of a joint connector, electricity is conducted through a plurality of circuit portions in a desired circuit mode, and a wiring design freedom degree is enhanced.

Junction box

A network system for transmitting vehicle data has a bidirectional multidrop ring in which data communication between data transmitting nodes and corresponding data receiving nodes is carried out even if a breakage or some other trouble occurs at a portion of the multidrop ring. This system ensures safe and reliable control of various vehicle loads for a long period of time. At least one multidrop bus or at least one further bidirectional multidrop ring may be electrically connected to the first-mentioned bidirectional multidrop ring, thereby widening the applicability of the system to the control of vehicle loads.
