The sheet manufacturing apparatus includes: a rough crushing unit that roughly crushes a raw material containing fibers; and a defibration unit that defibrates the roughly crushed raw material in a gas atmosphere. In addition, the sheet manufacturing apparatus includes: first and second web formers that accumulate defibrated substances obtained through a defibrating process and form webs; and a sheet former that forms a sheet of the second web. In addition, the sheet manufacturing apparatus includes: a vaporization-type humidifying unit that humidifies a space in which the raw material is roughly crushed by the rough crushing unit; and a mist-type humidifying unit that humidifies the webs that are formed by the first and second web formers.

Sheet manufacturing apparatus

A defibrating device and sheet manufacturing apparatus attract and remove metal fragments when metal fragments are mixed with fibrous material. A defibrating device has a main unit with a defibration section configured to defibrate fibrous material, and a swirl section configured to produce a rotational current, and by the rotational current cause the fibrous material to rotate and flow into the defibration section. The main unit has a magnet unit that is disposed to the swirl section, and has a magnet that attracts by magnetic force metal fragments conveyed with the fibrous material to the swirl section.

Defibrating device and sheet manufacturing apparatus

An apparatus reduces material left between a shredding unit and a defibrating unit. A sheet manufacturing apparatus including a shredder that separates feedstock containing at least fiber into shreds in air; a defibrating unit that defibrates at least the shreds in air; and a forming unit that forms a sheet using defibrated material defibrated by the defibrating unit; wherein the defibration capacity, which is the amount defibrated per unit time by the defibrating unit, is greater than or equal to the shredding capacity, which is the amount shredded per unit time by the shredder.

Sheet manufacturing apparatus and material defibrating apparatus

A defibration unit includes a rotating unit and a fixing unit. The rotating unit and the fixing unit are arranged so as to be apart from each other with a gap therebetween in a direction that intersects with a rotating shaft of the rotating unit. The fixing unit includes a plurality of plates that are layered in an axial direction of the rotating shaft, and the plates has a plurality of convexities that protrude at a side facing the rotating unit.

Defibration unit

A defibrating unit includes a rotating unit and a fixing unit. The rotating unit and the fixing unit are arranged so as to be apart from each other with a gap therebetween in an intersecting direction that intersects with a rotating shaft of the rotating unit. The rotating unit includes a surface that stands up along an axial direction of the rotating shaft and that is arranged on a side section in the axial direction and arranged at a side where a defibration object is introduced. The fixing unit includes a plurality of plates that are layered in the axial direction, and the plates has a plurality of convexities that protrude at a side facing the rotating unit.

Defibrating unit

A sheet manufacturing apparatus includes a defibrating unit and a sheet forming unit. The defibrating unit includes a rotating unit and a housing, and is configured to carry out a dry-type defibrating process by rotating the rotating unit. The housing includes a cover portion and a fixing unit attached to the cover portion and spaced apart from the rotating unit in a direction perpendicular to an axial direction of the rotating unit so as to form a gap between the rotating unit and the fixing unit. The sheet forming unit is configured to form a sheet by accumulating defibrated material. The rotating unit includes a rotor having protruding sections on an outer circumference of the rotor, and a feeding blade arranged on a side section of the rotor on a side of an input section for the defibration object and configured to generate a flow of air.

Sheet manufacturing apparatus and defibrating unit

A sheet manufacturing apparatus includes a defibration unit and a sheet forming unit. The defibration unit includes a rotating unit and a housing including a cover portion and a fixing unit attached to the cover portion and spaced apart from the rotating unit in a direction perpendicular to an axial direction of the rotating unit so as to form a gap between the rotating unit and the fixing unit. The defibrating unit is configured to cause the rotating unit to rotate and dry-defibrate a defibration object. The sheet forming unit is configured to form a sheet by depositing defibrated material. The rotating unit includes rotating plates base sections located on a side of a central rotation axis and protruding sections protruding out in a direction drawing away from the central rotation axis, and the rotating plates is stacked such that the protruding sections are in contact in the axial direction.

Sheet manufacturing apparatus and defibration unit

The sheet manufacturing apparatus includes the defibrating unit configured to carry out a dry-type defibrating process on defibration object by rotating a rotating unit, and manufactures sheets by accumulating and heating at least a portion of defibrated material on which the dry-type defibrating process is carried out. The rotating unit includes a rotor that has a plurality of protruding sections on an outer circumference of the rotor, and a feeding blade configured to generate a flow of air and arranged on a side section of the rotor on a side of the input section for the defibration object.

The sheet manufacturing apparatus in the present invention includes a defibration unit configured to cause a rotating unit to rotate and dry-defibrating a defibration object, and at least a part of defibrated material that has been dry-defibrated is deposited and heated to manufacture a sheet. A plurality of rotating plates provided with a base section located on a central rotation axis side and a plurality of protruding sections that protrude out in a direction drawing away from the central rotation axis are stacked in the rotating unit such that the protruding sections are in contact in a direction in which the central rotation axis extends.

A first container is operable to accommodate a liquid toner, and provided with a window. A reflector is disposed in the first container. A light emitter is operable to emit light to the reflector through the window and the liquid toner. A light receiver is operable to receive the light reflected by the reflector through the liquid toner and the window. A detector is operable to detect a concentration of the liquid toner based on the light received by the light receiver.

An electrophotographic printer includes an exposure unit having a MEMS scanner operable to scan a beam of light across a photoconductor. The MEMS scanner includes a mirror having an aspect ratio similar to the shape of the facets of a conventional rotating polygon scanner. In a preferred embodiment, the scan mirror has a length of about 750 microns in a dimension parallel to its axis of rotation and a length of about 8 millimeters in a dimension perpendicular to its axis of rotation. The MEMS scanner is operable to scan at a frequency of about 5 KHz and an angular displacement of about 20 degrees zero-to-peak mechanical scan angle.

At gradually increasing spaces at the entrance end and the exit end of each nip portion of the image transfer carrying means, even with high transfer bias voltage, the discharge phenomenon and an undesired phenomenon of toner image scattering from predetermined positions are prevented, thus preventing the deterioration of image quality.

Image forming apparatus

A recording medium carrier system of an image forming apparatus is constituted by independent units as a paper supply cassette, a paper feed unit, a transfer unit, a fixing unit, and a paper ejecting unit. An intermediate transfer unit in the transfer unit is provided with an intermediate transfer belt to which a toner image formed on a photoconductive drum is primarily transferred at a primary transfer position and which secondarily transfers the toner image on a recording medium at a secondary transfer position, and a driving roller for circulating the intermediate transfer belt. The primary transfer position is arranged close to the driving roller.

A liquid development device has a developer retaining roller having recesses, which are for retaining liquid developer, provided in the surface of the developer retaining roller; and a supplying roller for supplying the liquid developer to the developer retaining roller. The upper edge of the supplying roller is located above the lower edge of the developer retaining roller in the vertical direction, and the supplying roller supplies the liquid developer to the developer retaining roller downwards from above.
