Even when the mobile terminal (UE) redirected from the UMTS cell to the LTE cell by the redirecting technology cannot start the communication with the LTE system, the communication with the UMTS system can be started. A mobile terminal (UE) according to the present invention is instructed to be redirected from a UMTS cell to an LTE cell by a radio control apparatus (RNC), in an overlapped area between the UMTS cell in which communication with a UMTS system is available and the LTE cell in which communication with an LTE system is available, by transmitting a connection request signal including an LTE supported identifier for indicating that the LTE system is supported to the radio control apparatus (RNC) of the UMTS system. Moreover, the mobile terminal (UE) includes a connection setting process unit which executes a connection setting process with the radio control apparatus (RNC) while being turned into a state of not supporting the LTE system, when receiving a location registration failure signal for indicating that location registration to the tracking area of the LTE system is ended in failure.

Mobile device redirecting technology

A communication terminal capable of efficiently performing download of a file is provided. A communication terminalincludes an input detection section, a request section, a reception section, and a recognition section. When the input detection sectiondetects an input of an information request number by a user, the request sectiontransmits a request to a networkto transmit a service-availability information. The service-availability information consists of area information indicating whether or not a serving cell of the communication terminalis included in an HSDPA service area and resource information indicating whether or not allocation of HSDPA resource to the communication terminalis possible, when the serving cell of the communication terminalis included in the HSDPA service area. The reception sectionreceives the service-availability information transmitted from the networkand the recognition sectiondisplays an antenna mark on a display sectionbased on the area information and the resource information included in the service-availability information.

Mobile phonereceives an advertisement message from a peripheral base station, until state of communication path to the peripheral base station remains above a reference level over the predetermined time period, 'Treselection', wherein the reference level is calculated by adding the parameter 'Qhyst' to state of communication path to the current serving base station. After detecting peripheral base station, mobile phoneignores the detection that the condition of changing base stations is fulfilled for another peripheral base station, until data storage area is updated in accordance with an advertisement message from the peripheral base station
