A platen includes: a supporting portion that can support a sheet; a suction unit that sucks the sheet in such a manner as to attach the sheet to the supporting portion; a first ink receiver that receives ink ejected downstream of the leading end of the sheet passing the supporting portion; and a second ink receiver that receives ink ejected upstream of the trailing end of the sheet passing the supporting portion.

Printing apparatus and platen

A blowout port for gas is efficiently configured without impairing mist collection performance. Two blowout ports for gas are adjacent to each other by interposing a partition. An end of the partition is provided at a position near a deep side of the two blowout ports relative to ends of the two blowout ports so as to form a step.

Mist collection apparatus and liquid ejection apparatus

Gas is ejected toward a region between a liquid ejection head and a recording medium so as to enlarge and stabilize a vortex generated by an airflow generated by liquid droplets ejected from ejection ports. Accordingly, an airflow turbulence generated between the liquid ejection head and the recording medium is reduced and displacements of positions at which the liquid droplets are applied due to the airflow turbulence are reduced.

A platen disposed at a position at which the platen faces a printing head includes a contact portion that comes into contact with a recording medium, a non-contact portion that does not come into contact with the recording medium, and an ink receiving portion that receives ink ejected to beyond the recording medium. A recessed portion is formed between the ink receiving portion and the contact portion in the width direction of the recording medium so as to be lower than the contact portion in the vertical direction. A supply portion that supplies air to the recessed portion is formed upstream of the recessed portion in the conveyance direction of the recording medium.

Image printing apparatus

An object of the present invention is to provide an ink jet printing apparatus that can alleviate an adverse influence by ink mist or airflow turbulence with an inexpensive and small-sized configuration without using power. A printing unit includes a first opening that is parallel to a main scanning direction and is formed at a first surface facing a space defined between an ejection port surface having ejection ports formed thereat and a print medium and a second opening formed at a second surface that is parallel to the main scanning direction and different from the first surface. The first opening and the second opening communicate with each other via a first communication path. The first opening and the second opening are formed in different pressure regions, respectively, in which pressures different from each other are produced when the printing unit is moved in the main scanning direction.

Printing apparatus and head cartridge

An inkjet apparatus includes, a carriage, mounting a head that discharges ink, configured to reciprocally move with respect to a sheet that receives the ink, a sensor unit, attached to the carriage, configured to read information from the sheet, and a rectifying skirt, attached to the carriage, having a rectifying surface that faces the sheet. The sensor unit is disposed above the rectifying skirt.

Inkjet apparatus

A platen disposed so as to face a printing head includes a third support portion. A second suction hole is formed in an area through which a recording medium passes at least beyond the third support portion in the width direction of the recording medium or downstream of the third support portion in the conveyance direction. A supply port is formed between the third support portion and the second suction hole. Air is sucked into the second suction hole and supplied toward the recording medium through the supply port.

A liquid ejecting apparatus includes a moving unit configured to make a relative movement between at least one liquid ejecting unit, having an ejection port for ejecting liquid, and a print medium. The liquid ejecting apparatus includes at least one mist removing unit provided downstream of the at least one liquid ejecting unit in a movement direction in which the print medium is moved in the case of relative movement. The mist removing unit includes at least one suction hole configured to suck air existing in a region defined by the liquid ejecting unit and the print medium together with mist, and at least one blowing hole that is formed downstream of the suction hole in the movement direction, with the blowing hole configured to blow air toward the print medium so as to generate a vortex of gas downstream of the suction hole.

Liquid ejection head and apparatus and method for printing

Adhesion of particles to a liquid ejecting head due to an electric field generated at an electric power supply wire disposed in the liquid ejecting head can be suppressed. The liquid ejecting head is provided with a conductive member covering at least a part of the electric power supply wire for supplying electric power to an ejection energy generating unit configured to generate ejection energy for ejecting liquid, with an insulator therebetween. The conductive member covers the electric power supply wire in a coverage determined based on a relative movement speed between an ejection port and a print medium, a size of particles floating between an ejection port forming surface and the print medium, an electric charge amount of the particles, and a voltage applied to the electric power supply wire.

Liquid ejecting head

There is provided a liquid ejecting apparatus and a liquid ejecting head in which mist does not close an ejection port so as to prevent any degradation of the reliability of ejection. In view of this, a ceiling surface is formed between a mist recovering unit and a gas blowing unit in a mist recovering mechanism, thus forming a recess. Inside of the recess are formed a suction port of the mist recovering unit and a gas blowing port of the gas blowing unit.

Liquid ejecting apparatus and liquid ejecting head

A printing device includes: a head that ejects an ink on a medium to perform printing; and a mist collection mechanism having: a suction port facing the medium and sucking air near the head; an exhaust port discharging the sucked air; and an airflow path between the suction port and the exhaust port, wherein the airflow path includes a first spatial region located on a side of the suction port, and a second spatial region located on a side of the exhaust port and adjacent to the first spatial region through a communicating port having an opening area smaller than that of the suction port.

Printing device

A liquid ejection apparatus is provided which serves to simplify a configuration for collection of mist and to suppress the adverse effect, on landing accuracy for a liquid, of an electrostatic force for connection of mist. The ink jet printing apparatus has a blowout mechanism configured to blow out a gas through a blowout port toward a print medium. Furthermore, the ink jet printing apparatus has an electrode disposed on a platen that supports the print medium and configured to attract mist to the print medium when the electrode is supplied with power.

Liquid ejection apparatus

A liquid ejecting head ejects liquid from a plurality of ejection orifices thereof for recording while being moved relative to a recording medium. The liquid ejecting head includes a gas discharge port configured to allow gas to be discharged therefrom. The gas discharge port is disposed on a downstream side of the ejection orifices in a direction of relative movement of the recording medium as viewed from the liquid ejecting head. The gas discharged from the gas discharge port joins an airflow that forms a vortex on an upstream side of the ejection orifices in the direction of relative movement. The vortex is generated by the liquid ejected from the ejection orifices.
