An optical print head includes a substrate on which a plurality of light emitting elements is mounted; a lens configured to condense light emitted from the light emitting elements on a photoreceptor; a holding member configured to hold the substrate and the lens; and an attachment portion configured to be provided on the holding member, provided outside an end portion of the substrate in a longitudinal direction of the substrate, and provided with a moving mechanism that moves the holding member to an exposure position at which the photoreceptor is exposed and a separation position at which the holding member is separated from the photoreceptor with respect to the exposure position. A wall portion is provided between the end portion of the substrate and the attachment portion in the longitudinal direction, and a sealing material is applied so as to be in contact with the substrate and the wall portion.

An image pickup apparatus includes a main mirror holder rotating between a mirror down position in an image pickup optical path and a mirror up position outside the image pickup optical path in accordance with drive of a mirror driving unit, which drives in accordance with rotation of a motor, a sub mirror holder being supported by the main mirror holder to abut against the main mirror holder positioned at the mirror up position, and a driving pin rotating in accordance with the drive of the mirror driving unit and rotating the main and sub mirror holders. The driving pin includes an abutting part that abuts against the mirror driving unit while the mirror driving unit drives. The abutting part is provided with a reduction structure to reduce a bound of the sub mirror holder when the main mirror holder reaches the mirror up position.

An electronic device that is accessible to a first storage medium that has no communication function and a second storage medium that has a communication function and is detachable to the device, comprising: an input unit configured to input image data; a designation unit configured to designate at least one of the first storage medium and the second storage medium as a storage medium serving as a storage destination of the image data input by the input unit; and a control unit configured to, if the first storage medium is designated as the storage destination of the image data and the second storage medium is not designated, store the image data in the first storage medium and store the image data in the second storage medium as well so as to transmit the image data to an external apparatus by the communication function of the second storage medium.

A small illumination apparatus including an optical member less affected by heat from a light source is disclosed. The illumination apparatus has a light source and an optical member closer to a light irradiation side than the light source and having an entrance surface formed as a refractive surface. The entrance surface has a first area receiving a first light component emitting from the light source at an angle smaller than a first angle with respect to an irradiation optical axis and a second area receiving a second light component emitting at an angle larger than the first angle with respect to the irradiation optical axis. The second area is positioned closer to the light source than the first area in the irradiation optical axis direction. Each of the first and second areas is formed a flat surface or a curved surface having a concave shape facing the light source.

Illumination apparatus for image-taking

An illumination apparatus having a structure which can make the inside of the apparatus hard to be seen from the outside without deterioration of light distribution, and is applicable to illumination apparatuses having an optical member utilizing total reflection. The illumination apparatus comprises a light-emitting tube extending in a first direction; and an optical member including an entrance portion where a luminous flux from the light-emitting tube enters and an exit portion where the luminous flux exits. The exit portion includes a plurality of surfaces arranged in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction, the surfaces being orthogonal or inclined with respect to the optical axis direction, and located at different positions in the optical axis direction.

Illumination apparatus and image-taking apparatus

In an illumination apparatus, an optical element has an exit surface in which an inclination to a perpendicular to an irradiation optical axis in a first area is greater than that of a second area, and the inclination of the first area gradually increases in order from the irradiation optical axis, an intermediate part and a periphery of the exit surface. The first and second areas are defined as those divided by an interface surface that includes an irradiation optical axis and is orthogonal to a plane that is orthogonal to a longitudinal direction of the light source. A first reflective surface reflects first light to the intermediate part in the first area. A second reflective surface reflects second light to the periphery in the second area.

A light-emitting device is disclosed which allows efficient irradiation of light from a plurality of light sources to achieve a predetermined light emission characteristic and has a small size. The light-emitting device has an optical member which includes a first reflecting surface which reflects light incident thereon from a first light source, a second reflecting surface which reflects light incident thereon from a second light source, and an emergence portion which causes the light from the first reflecting surface and the light form the second reflecting surface to emerge therefrom. The optical member reflects the light by the second reflecting surface and then transmits the light through the first reflecting surface to guide the light to the emergence portion.

Light-emitting device and apparatus having the same

An illumination apparatus is disclosed, with which an illumination optical system can be made small while attaining uniform light distribution properties within an irradiation region of light, by properly designing the shape of a reflection member. The illumination apparatus of the present invention includes a light source and a reflection member which reflects toward an irradiated side a first light flux emerging from the light source and having an emergence angle with respect to an irradiation optical axis which is larger than a predetermined angle. The reflection member reflects a light ray of the first light flux for which the emergence angle is maximal in a direction intersecting with the irradiation optical axis, and satisfies the following condition:&#x3b8;1&#x3c;&#x3b8;2where &#x3b8;and &#x3b8;are angles defined by, respectively, a first and a second light ray before and after reflection at the reflection surface.

A lighting device is disclosed which comprises an illuminating light source for illuminating an object, a first optical unit disposed on the side of the object of the illuminating light source and having an optical action section for diverging light or an optical action section for converging light, and a second optical unit disposed on the side of the object of the optical action section of the first optical unit and having an optical action section for exhibiting a characteristic opposite to a characteristic of the optical action section, wherein the optical action section of the second optical unit overlies the optical action section of the first optical unit in varying areas to change light distribution characteristic on the side of the object.
