A recording apparatus includes a conveyance unit that conveys a recording medium in a first direction toward a recording head for ejecting a liquid, a tank including a containing chamber containing the liquid to be supplied to the recording head, and an injection port through which the liquid is injected into the containing chamber, the tank being disposed downstream of the conveyance unit in the first direction, a rotatable lever that holds a tank cap for closing the injection port, and a cover that rotates about a rotation shaft between an open position for exposing the lever and a closed position for covering the lever, the rotation shaft being disposed upstream of the conveyance unit in the first direction. The cover includes a sliding portion that is provided on a surface facing the lever and comes into contact with the lever while the cover is rotating toward the closed position.

Recording apparatus

A printing apparatus includes a liquid storing container including a storage chamber configured to store a liquid supplied to a printing unit that prints an image by discharging the liquid, an outlet portion of the liquid, and a channel configured to connect the storage chamber and the outlet portion. The liquid storing container includes a first side portion on a side of a print region where printing is executed by the printing unit, and a second side portion on an opposite side of the first side portion, and the channel is formed in the second side portion.

A recording apparatus includes a recording head having discharge orifices arranged on a discharge orifice surface, a cap, a wiper, and a moving unit that moves the wiper in a first direction. When the cap covers the discharge orifice surface, a first member is disposed at an inside wall of the cap at a position near a first side of a region having the discharge orifices, and a second member is disposed at another inside wall of the cap at a position near a second side of the region having the discharge orifices. The first side faces in a direction opposite to the first direction and the second side faces in the first direction. In a direction normal to the discharge orifice surface, a distance between the second member and the discharge orifice surface is smaller than a distance between the first member and the discharge orifice surface.

A liquid discharge apparatus includes a discharging unit configured to be capable of discharging a plurality of kinds of liquids onto a medium, and a waste liquid tank including a storage part configured to store a waste liquid of the liquid. The waste liquid tank includes a first inflow port and a second inflow port from which the waste liquid flows into the storage part, and a restriction portion located between the first inflow port and the second inflow port, and configured to restrict movement of the waste liquid in the storage part.

A recording apparatus includes a tank including a chamber configured to store liquid to be supplied to a recording head that ejects the liquid and a filling port from which the liquid is injected into the chamber, and an injection auxiliary member configured to assist injecting of the liquid into the chamber from the filling port, the injection auxiliary member including a first and a second flow channels each defined by a first or a second upper end portion that opens toward outside of the tank and a first or a second lower end portion that opens toward inside of the tank, wherein the second flow channel has an expansion portion arranged in a middle portion between the second upper end portion and the second lower end portion and configured to form a step to expand a cross-sectional area.

Recording apparatus and tank

A print head includes a nozzle array comprising a plurality of nozzles, and a negative pressure generating portion configured to apply a negative pressure to the nozzle array. A tank includes a storage portion and an air communication port. A tube connects the print head and the tank and supply the liquid from the tank to the print head. A highest position of a liquid level in the tank in the vertical direction is higher than a position of the nozzle array, and an absolute value of a water head difference caused by a difference between the highest position of the liquid level in the tank and the position of the nozzle array is not larger than an absolute value of a negative pressure generated by the negative pressure generating portion.

Printing apparatus

Provided is an image recording apparatus including: a carriage configured to support a recording head that ejects a liquid to a recording medium and configured to perform reciprocating motion in the scanning direction; a liquid containing portion configured to contain liquid; a tube configured to connect the recording head and the liquid containing portion to supply liquid from the liquid containing portion to the recording head, the tube including a first section that extends in the scanning direction and a second section that extends in the scanning direction above the first section; and a support portion configured to support the first section and be secured to an apparatus main body, and in the support portion, a rotating member is provided below the second section at a position facing the second section.

Image recording apparatus

There is provided with a printing apparatus. An ink tank stores ink to be supplied to a printhead configured to eject ink. An ink supply path supplies ink from the ink tank to the printhead. A conveying unit conveys a print medium to the printhead. A cover member is arranged so as to be able to open and close with respect to the printing apparatus. A manual valve is arranged in a region through which the print medium conveyed by the conveying unit passes and can be switched between an opening state in which the ink tank and the printhead communicate and a closing state. An operating portion is arranged at a position which is exposed when the cover member is opened and can be operated to switch the manual valve.

A sheet conveying device includes a first conveying unit configured to convey a sheet in a conveying direction; a conveying path configured to guide the sheet to the first conveying unit, the sheet having been conveyed by the first conveying unit in a direction opposite to the conveying direction; a second conveying unit configured to convey the sheet in the conveying path; a rotation direction detecting unit configured to detect a rotation direction of the second conveying unit; and a control unit configured to perform control, at startup, to drive the first conveying unit in a direction that causes the sheet to be conveyed in the conveying direction, and if the rotation direction detecting unit detects rotation of the second conveying unit, to drive the second conveying unit in the rotation direction that is detected by the rotation direction detecting unit.

Sheet conveying device and recording apparatus

A recording apparatus includes a carriage carrying a recording head and being movably supported, the recording head being configured to eject liquid onto a recording medium, a plurality of driven units to be driven by a drive source that generates a driving force, a transmission-switching mechanism configured to switch between the driven units, a carriage locker configured to prevent and allow movement of the carriage, and a transmission-switching locker configured to prevent and allow switching between the driven units. Movement prevention by the carriage locker and switching prevention by the transmission-switching locker are in synchronicity, and movement allowance by the carriage locker and switching allowance by the transmission-switching locker are in synchronicity.

In the revolving restricted state, the planetary gear meshes with the drive input gear, and the clutch mechanism is unable to transmit the rotational drive force; in the freely revolvable state, the planetary gear is separated apart from the drive input gear, and the clutch mechanism is able to transmit the rotational drive force, the drive transmission switching mechanism is provided with first and second abutting portions which are configured to come into contact with the planetary arm rotated in the freely revolvable state so as to initialize the revolving position of the planetary gear, and the drive transmission switching mechanism is capable of selecting which one of the first and second abutting portions will come into contact with the planetary arm in accordance with the position of the drive input gear transmitting the rotational drive force among the plurality of drive input gears.
