Provided are a three-dimensional net-like aluminum porous body in which the diameter of cells in the porous body is uneven in the thickness direction of the porous body; a current collector and an electrode each using the aluminum porous body; and methods for producing these members. The porous body is a three-dimensional net-like aluminum porous body in a sheet form, for a current collector, in which the diameter of cells in the porous body is uneven in the thickness direction of the porous body. When a cross section in the thickness direction of the three-dimensional net-like aluminum porous body is divided into three regions of a region 1, a region 2 and a region 3 in this order, the average cell diameter of the regions 1 and 3 is preferably different from the cell diameter of the region 2.

A capacitor has a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a solid electrolyte layer arranged between the electrode layers. At least one of the electrode layers of this capacitor has an Al porous body, and an electrode body held in this Al porous body to polarize the electrolyte. The oxygen content in the surface of the Al porous body is 3.1% by mass or less. The matter that the oxygen content in the surface of the Al porous body is 3.1% by mass or less is equal to the matter that a high-resistance oxide film is hardly formed on the surface of the Al porous body. Thus, this Al porous body makes it possible to make the current collector area of the electrode layer large so that the capacitor can be improved in capacity.

Capacitor, and method for producing the same

A lithium secondary battery anode member of the present invention includes a solid electrolyte film formed on a lithium metal film and is capable of suppressing reduction of the solid electrolyte film over a long period of time. In the lithium secondary battery anode member, the lithium metal film and the solid electrolyte film are laminated on a substrate, the solid electrolyte film contains the composition xLi.yP.zS.wO wherein x, y, z, and w satisfy the relations, 0.2&#x2266;x&#x2266;0.45, 0.1&#x2266;y&#x2266;0.2, 0.35&#x2266;z&#x2266;0.6, and 0.03&#x2266;w&#x2266;0.13, respectively, (x+y+z+w=1), and the main peaks of an X-ray diffraction pattern of the solid electrolyte film measured by a film method using Cu K&#x3b1; radiation are at 2&#x3b8; of about 11&#xb0; and 30&#xb0; and each have a half width of 10&#xb0; or less.

Lithium secondary battery anode member and method for manufacturing the same

A lithium battery includes a substrate, a positive electrode layer, a negative electrode layer, and a sulfide solid electrolyte layer disposed between the positive electrode layer and the negative electrode layer, the positive electrode layer, the negative electrode layer, and the sulfide solid electrolyte layer being provided on the substrate. In this lithium battery, the positive electrode layer is formed by a vapor-phase deposition method, and a buffer layer that suppresses nonuniformity of distribution of lithium ions near the interface between the positive electrode layer and the sulfide solid electrolyte layer is provided between the positive electrode layer and the sulfide solid electrolyte layer. As the buffer layer, a lithium-ion conductive oxide, in particular, LiLaTiO(x=0.1 to 0.5), LiLaZrO(&#x2212;5&#x2266;x&#x2266;3, preferably &#x2212;2&#x2266;x&#x2266;2), or LiNbOis preferably used.

Lithium battery

A battery structure includes a positive electrode layer, a solid electrolyte layer, and a negative electrode layer disposed in that order, wherein the solid electrolyte layer has a chemical composition, excluding incidental impurities, represented by the formula aLi&#xb7;bX&#xb7;cS&#xb7;dY, where X is at least one element of phosphorus (P) and boron (B), Y is at least one element of oxygen (O) and nitrogen (N), the sum of a, b, c, and d is 1, a is 0.20 to 0.52, b is 0.10 to 0.20, c is 0.30 to 0.55, and d is 0 to 0.30. The solid electrolyte layer includes a portion A in contact with the negative electrode layer and a portion B in contact with the positive electrode layer, and d in the portion A is larger than d in the portion B. A lithium secondary battery includes the battery structure.

Battery structure and lithium secondary battery using the same

A solid electrolyte and a method of manufacturing the same are provided. The solid electrolyte contains x atomic % of lithium, y atomic % of phosphorus, z atomic % of sulfur, and w atomic % of oxygen, in which the x, the y, the z, and the w satisfy the following expressions (1)-(5):20&#x2266;x&#x2266;45 &#x2003;&#x2003;(1)10&#x2266;y&#x2266;20 &#x2003;&#x2003;(2)35&#x2266;z&#x2266;60 &#x2003;&#x2003;(3)1&#x2266;w&#x2266;10 &#x2003;&#x2003;(4)&#x2003;&#x2003;(5), andapexes of X-ray diffraction peaks in an X-ray diffraction pattern obtained by an X-ray diffraction method using a K&#x3b1;-ray of Cu exist at diffraction angles 2&#x3b8; of 16.7&#xb0;&#xb1;0.25&#xb0;, 20.4&#xb0;&#xb1;0.25&#xb0;, 23.8&#xb0;&#xb1;0.25&#xb0;, 25.9&#xb0;, 0.25&#xb0;, 29.4&#xb0;&#xb1;0.25&#xb0;, 30.4&#xb0;&#xb1;0.25&#xb0;, 31.7&#xb0;&#xb1;0.25&#xb0;, 33.5&#xb0;&#xb1;0.25&#xb0;, 41.5&#xb0;&#xb1;0.25&#xb0;, 43.7&#xb0;&#xb1;0.25&#xb0;, and 51.2&#xb0;&#xb1;0.25&#xb0;, respectively, in the X-ray diffraction pattern, and a half-width of each of the X-ray diffraction peaks is not larger than 0.5&#xb0;.

Solid electrolyte and method of producing the same

Affords for lithium secondary batteries a negative electrode component material that enhances battery cyclability by inhibiting dendritic growth that occurs during charging/discharging due to the reaction of the metallic lithium and organic electrolyte. A substrate for a lithium-secondary-battery negative-electrode component material (), in which a metallic lithium film () is formed atop the substrate and onto the metallic lithium film an inorganic solid electrolytic film () is formed, is created from an electrical insulator that can be a polyethylene film (). A configuration providing an electrically insulating layer at the interface between a metal base material and the metallic lithium film may also be utilized as the substrate.

Lithium secondary battery negative-electrode component material and lithium secondary battery

A thin film lithium battery is provided which can realize a high yield by solving various problems caused by a pin hole formed in a solid electrolyte layer. A thin film lithium battery according to the present invention is a thin film lithium battery in which a positive electrode layer, a negative electrode layer, a solid electrolyte layerprovided therebetween, and a collectorelectrically connected to at least one of the positive electrode layerand the negative electrode layerare laminated to each other. When this battery is viewed in plan along the lamination direction of the above individual layers, the positive electrode layerand the negative electrode layerare disposed at positions so as not to be overlapped with each other. By the structure as described above, even if a pin hole is formed in the solid electrolyte layer, short-circuiting between the two electrode layersand, which is caused by this pin hole, can be prevented.

Thin film lithium battery

A sulfide-based inorganic solid electrolyte that suppresses the reaction between silicon sulfide and metallic lithium even when the electrolyte is in contact with metallic lithium, a method of forming the electrolyte, and a lithium battery's member and lithium secondary battery both incorporating the electrolyte. The electrolyte comprises Li, P, and S without containing Si. It is desirable that the oxygen content vary gradually from the electrolyte to the lithium-containing material at the boundary zone between the two members when analyzed by using an XPS having an analyzing chamber capable of maintaining a super-high vacuum less than 1.33&#xd7;10hPa and that the oxygen-containing layer on the surface of the lithium-containing material be removed nearly completely. The electrolyte can be formed such that at least part of the forming step is performed concurrently with the step for etching the surface of the substrate by irradiating the surface with inert-gas ions.

Inorganic solid electrolyte and lithium cell component

Affords high-stability, high-safety lithium secondary batteries of high energy density and superlative charge/discharge cyclability, in which shorting due to the growth of dendrites from the metallic-lithium negative electrode is kept under control. Negative electrode member for lithium battery and process for producing the same

According to one embodiment, the gas sensor includes a porous plate-like sintered body comprising trisilicon tetranitride needle crystals; two first catalyst metal thin films and one second catalyst metal thin film, formed on one surface of the plate-like sintered body in a non-contacted state with each other; oxygen ion-conductive solid electrolyte thin films formed on the respective surface; a surface layer thin film formed on the respective surfaces, so that a first measurement part, a second measurement part and a third measurement part are constituted; and a glass sealing layer comprising silicon oxide, formed on other surface of the porous plate-like sintered body, a surface other than the surface of the porous plate-like sintered body having the first catalyst metal thin film and the second catalyst metal thin film formed thereon, and a side of the first measurement part and the second measurement part.

Gas sensor

A sulfide-based inorganic solid electrolyte that suppresses the reaction between silicon sulfide and metallic lithium even when the electrolyte is in contact with metallic lithium, a method of forming the electrolyte, and a lithium battery's member and lithium secondary battery both incorporating the electrolyte. The electrolyte comprises Li, P, and S without containing Si. It is desirable that the oxygen content vary gradually from the electrolyte to the lithium-containing material at the boundary zone between the two members when analyzed by using an XPS having an analyzing chamber capable of maintaining a super-high vacuum less than 1.33&#xd7;10h Pa and that the oxygen-containing layer on the surface of the lithium-containing material be removed nearly completely. The electrolyte can be formed such that at least part of the forming step is performed concurrently with the step for etching the surface of the substrate by irradiating the surface with inert-gas ions.

A member having a lithium metal thin film is provided, which is extremely thin, uniform, and not degraded by air. The member includes a substrate and a thin lithium metal film formed on the substrate by a vapor deposition method. The thin film typically has a thickness of 0.1 &mgr;m to 20 &mgr;m. The substrate is typically made of a metal, an alloy, a metal oxide, or carbon. The substrate typically has a thickness of 1 &mgr;m to 100 &mgr;m. The member is used as an electrode member for a lithium cell.

Thin alkali metal film member and method of producing the same

A lithium-secondary-battery negative electrode having a protective layer to prevent the surface deterioration of the inorganic solid electrolytic layer. The negative electrode comprises metallic lithium or a lithium-containing metal, a first inorganic solid electrolytic layer (thickness: a) formed on the metal, and a second inorganic solid electrolytic layer (thickness: b) formed on the first inorganic solid electrolytic layer. The thickness ratio b/a is specified to be more than 0.5.
